Shetland Lighthouse Holidays offer self catering holiday accommodation at three of Shetland's lighthouses. Stunning scenery, rural locations and the sounds of seabirds and the ocean all around - a perfectly unique getaway!
The lighthouse is in the most beautiful location possible and the accommodations are spacious and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the big kitchen for our family meals. On evening walks we easily spotted Puffins, Oystercatchers, Guillemots, and Fulmar, and lots of birders watching other kinds of bird. I highly recommend a stay at this lighthouse - it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for us and we were not disappointed.
The lighthouse is in an amazing location which you see as you arrive and leave by ferry. The accommodation itself is a little tired in places but very well looked after and very clean. There are three large bedrooms with one living area and a small kitchen, adjacent there is also a wash/dry/store room. Its about 3 miles back to the ferry terminal for Lerwick and the one pub/restaurant and shop are that way too. The ferry runs at least hourly until late at night and although you are away from it all you never feel far from the world. Would recommend a trip to Noss!
Bressay lighthouse was a lovely, comfortable, secluded place to stay. We loved the rock arch just beneath. Frank made us really welcome. We saw otters on Bressay, had a trip over to Noss and a walk along the coast. The weather was mixed but the lighthouse was always warm and cosy to come back to.
Three days at Eshaness Lighthouse provided the ultimate winding down time. A relaxing and invigorating environment. Excellent for long walks along the stunning coastline. There is no wifi and this was a special treat. We just enjoyed the place and being there together. Excellent accommodations with everything one could need. Planning to return next year!
