Introducing 23 Bishopgate Street. A superbly stylish, conveniently located and sumptuously furnished 2 bedroom holiday let. Located on the edge of Bishopthorpe Road, the Notting Hill of the North, the property benefits from being just a couple of minutes walk from all that York has to offer.

Thoroughly recommend!

This is the second time we have stayed here. It’s a lovely quirky house with everything you’re going to need for your stay…it’s like home from home. The shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants are just outside the front door and York town is just a 15 minute walk away…we love it!

We had a lovely stay at Number 23, the property is a great choice if you're planning on visiting York. The city is walkable from the property and the immediate amenities are fab - Bishy Road is such a vibe!

The house has a great interior, with loads of local touches. The kitchen is very well-equipped, although if you're planning on taking a picnic anywhere be sure to take Tupperware, foil/cling/parchment, or sandwich bags with you, as there isn't anything in the kitchen to use.

The only thing that we could have done with but wasn't provided was a kitchen roll. There were a few discrepancies between the Air bnb and listing and what was provided but possibly that was due to the property only just being handed over to Stays York prior to our arrival. Mainly bathroom provisions - no shampoo and conditioner when the listing said there was - and the hairdryer listed as provided didn't work.

Very spacious and clean apartment. Lots of sunlight thought the kitchen and living room. Convenient locations close to shop and city center. Communication with host was smooth and pleasant.

Stayed here for week and found the house to be very central to town centre and all the historical sites. Clean, modern accommodation with everything you would need.
Only thing I found to criticise was the double bed was quite small for two adults but that's just my personal preference. Otherwise a great property for a weeks break. Thankyou we enjoyed our stay very much. Bishopsgate Rd in particular had beautiful coffee shops and restaurants for eating out.

Access is difficult: why do door handles need to be pulled up to lock? Where are the details for getting in the front door? Why was the access code for the rear gate wrong (relied on next door neighbour to get in!).Who says it has two bathrooms? How do older people take their luggage upstairs? Answer: they don't - they dress downstairs. Why does the Nespresso machine leak water?

Despite all that, lovely place to stay, and so very close for a good walk through old York.

And last but not least, short walk to the York Horse Races and Park Run.

Couldn't have wished for a better location, on one side you're right on the wall and seconds into the city center whilst nestled in Bishy a wonderful artisan area with a fabulous range of shops. The property has everything you need and more with a higher than average spec, there's everything you could possibly need and more and everything top quality !! Beautiful artwork throughout .. a private gallery in its own right. Street parking with permit provided was never a problem although no place directly outside to unload the car however that was simply because I was there on a long stay with a lot of luggage. The gated back lane made it feel very safe and secure (although I couldn't seem to understand why the property only came with a key for the back door not the front, also only one key provided so if your group will be entering/exiting at different times I would suggest asking for an additional key). Perfect for a longer stay and this will certainly be my first choice when I return to York !

This was a great base for our three night stay in York.

The house was smart, clean and very comfortable. The location is excellent- local shops and cafes but with the city centre an easy walk away. We had no problem parking and the permit was very useful.

We will definitely stay again!

We liked our stay in York. Beautiful city and many things to do and to see. We even liked the house. But when we came back home we received an email that we had damaged a chair which we did not. But we had no proof so we did not get back the deposit we had paid. This felt really bad and we were so disappointed, that we do not have good memories anymore.
