This one bedroom apartment has one of the most enviable locations in York. Situated a matter of steps away from Clifford's Tower. Recently renovated to a high standard you can enjoy one of the most historic parts of York from the comfort of your sofa.

Pleasantly surprised!

A really lovely apartment in a beautiful location. Well equipped with lovely finishes!
Had a small issue on check in but the service was excellent and rectified straight away.
My only observation would be that the sofa bed in the living room, I wouldn’t really class as a bed. It’s a futon and unfortunately very uncomfortable. Otherwise, an amazing stay!

Great location, not suitable for 3 people as advertised.

The location is excellent, easy access due to keypads and a good apartment for one or two people but definitely NOT for 3 people.

Sofa bed is advertised but it is a horrendous, solid as a board, single futon. The pillows left didn’t even have pillowcases on and no bedsheet was provided to cover the so called mattress.

We had only 2 shower towels provided even though we had stated 3 adults on our booking. Called on Fri to report this and got more towels delivered on the Sat.

To add salt to the wounds we paid a £25 charge for a 12 noon checkout. I was literally just out of the shower and a cleaner let herself into the apartment at 10:25am - she was as surprised to find me there as I was to see her! I explained we had a late checkout and she left. Couldn’t make it up - at 11:45am another set of cleaners were letting themselves into the apartment! Thankfully we were packed up so felt like we had no choice but to leave - 15 mins earlier than the agreed time for which we had paid.

The sensor light in the hall kept me awake most of the first night as it comes on and off every few mins for no reason. The bedroom door doesn’t fit the frame properly so the light floods into the bedroom. We ended up have to flip the trip switch to switch all the lights off to enable us to get some sleep the following 2 nights, having to use the light on our mobiles to use the bathroom during the night.

Would I stay here again? As a party of 2 yes if the hall light was replaced but most definitely not as a party of 3.

We have stayed in a number of the companies apartments over the last 4 years and we have never had to give any negative feedback before but felt it justified on this occasion sadly.

Very much enjoyed our stay in the King’s Tower. Picture and descriptions are accurate. Nice welcome package. Within easy walking distance to attractions, restaurants and grocery stores. Several car parks nearby. Stays York staff was easy to communicate with and most helpful. Apartment is on 2nd floor and no lift, which could be a consideration if mobility challenged. Would stay again and definitely recommend.

Beautiful apartment. Well presented and equipped.
Central located. Ideal situated for buses as well to train station and Outlets.

Only couple of things. There's a step into living room and bedroom . Could maybe put on some tape. Also light in hall very sensitive . Came on and off through the night.
