Number One High Petergate is a beautifully presented three-bedroom home in the heart of York, just a minute’s walk from York Minster and moments from the historic city walls. Beautifully decorated with warm tones, stylish textures and plenty of character, the property features a bright, fully equipped kitchen, spacious dining area and cosy living room with a grand feature fireplace and Smart TV.

Sleeping up to six guests, there are two king-size bedrooms and one super king-size bedroom, with a travel cot also provided. Guests can also benefit from free parking in any York Council car park, with the closest just a five-minute walk away.

Thanks v much for having us. Few things... I didn't appreciate having to empty the dishwasher when I arrived. Not the best welcome. Also, the new occupants to the shop downstairs played loud music every evening for an hour or 2. Lovely flat still, but perhaps not back for a 3rd visit due to downstairs.

This was the perfect location for a City break, it had everything we needed in the kitchen, it was very clean and comfortable.

Two things would have made it better, an en-suite for the main bedroom and not all the bedroom windows opened well.

I would stay again.

We stayed at Number One High Petergate as a family (two adults and two children (14 and 9)) over the February Half-Term. We know York well, and the location was fabulous; a few hundred meters from the Minister, and it was lovely to be able to stay in the heart of one of the world's greatest cities. The apartment was comfortable and spacious, with all necessary amenities. We agreed that we would definitely stay her again as and when we are visiting in the future. Highly recommended.

Warm welcoming house which had been decorated beautifully for Christmas. Beds very comfy and so close to the Minster and some great pubs. Thoroughly enjoyable and memorable time.

Delighted with the property. Everything in it that we needed and immaculately clean. One small issue that was dealt with immediately. Would thoroughly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in York. Our accommodation was excellent, a home away from home, so comfortable and spacious, in a perfect location. Previous reviews had mentioned the noise factor however with the double glazing in place, noise was not a problem. Can’t recommend Number One High Petergate highly enough. And Stays York was delightful to deal with, they made the whole process easy and we felt very welcome.

Unfortunately we thought previous reviews might have been exaggerating on the amount of noise you can hear, in particular from the 2 bedrooms at the front of the property... How wrong we were! There is a lot of noise and I'm afraid mostly from people after a night out. You can hear every part of peoples conversations. We stayed for 5 nights and were woken up by noise every night/early morning and not just a few minutes, one night was over an hour we were kept up, at around 3am (and this was a week night, not the weekend).

The property itself is extremely clean, great layout, and an excellent location but that versus a good nights sleep, I'm afraid makes it not value for money in our eyes. On the value we paid, if we had to pay that again, we would not stay here or recommend it. Should the windows be rectified (one you could see a gap at the bottom of the frame) to cancel out the noise, then yes, it would be worth the money.
If there are other places available that you're currently reviewing, we would suggest go for another property.

One other negative (and advice if you do book this property) is the TV, this needs updating.... The connection to the wifi didn't work. Would advise to take a laptop or other device if you like watching TV (Apps/Netflix).

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. As you say, the property is in the centre of York, only a stones throw from the Minster and we would expect that there would be some city noise, although it is not on a main thoroughfare. We take all feed back onboard and secondary glazing has now been fitted into all of the front bedrooms so you can now enjoy a comfortable nights sleep. The television is also working and you can watch all TV channels plus Netflix on there.
