We stayed here for a month.
From day one we experienced problems with the cleanliness.
The sheets put on the bed had a used plaster stuck to them, the replacement had a metre wide brown stain, 3rd replacement was clean. After one visit by the cleaners the sheets had been changed and the stench off them was so bad had to wash them ourselves, how they did not notice, not sure.
Had to buy our own cleaning products as none in the apartment, cleaning the bath and the floors was not on the list apparently for the cleaners. We advised the floors had not been cleaned on day one, also the toilet seat loose, which was repaired but lasted 2 days.
There was blood smeared on a picture frame in the hall and the wall, still there when we left.
There is beautiful artwork and wallpaper throughout the apartment, however the state of the walls and ceilings lets it down. Both bedroom carpets are badly stained, the balcony was full of debris, cobwebs and peeling paint. The windows to the balcony had been cleaned but the dirty water was left to drip down the glass, so pointless.
We were aware of where the apartment was, as expats. However the noise from the Jorvik centre everyday setting up at 7am, is not good, and we also had a problem with homeless using the PowerPoints in coppergate for their music, regularly at 3am.
Stays York were always quick to action any queries etc, with professionalism and a smile, cannot fault them at all.

Hi Juliette, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about the cleanliness and maintenance issues you experienced during your stay and we appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. While we’re pleased to hear you found our team responsive and professional, I'm sorry to hear the cleanliness was not matched. As the property is self-catering, we do not supply cleaning products as part of the set-up; however, we will review your comments in this regard. All of the points you’ve raised will be investigated and passed on to our housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure they are addressed promptly. We value your feedback and hope that, despite these issues, we may have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for a more enjoyable stay. Kind regards, Emily, Stays York

Business stay for 12 nights - apartment was very clean and comfortable, and had everything you need for a short break of longer stay. Two double rooms, but I only tried one bed and slept well. The night of my arrival was freezing cold, and the heating hadn't been switched on so that first night was very chilly, but it didn't take too long to heat up and I had no further issues for the rest of my stay. Having a washing machine was a big help with travelling for work.

The location is fantastic, so close to everything right in the middle of town. I was initially concerned it may be noisy at night, but it was very quiet as all the shops and everything in the Coppergate courtyard were shut. Parking is convenient in the nearby Castle car park. Would definitely stay again, would be right up there as an option for somewhere to stay for a long weekend break in York especially
