What a lovely place Allt Beag is! We spent a week there and wished we owned the property. It's proportions are just right and the facilities are spot on. On our first evening when I'd just cooked a meal I turned around and looked out of the window and two deer were looking directly at me no more than 20 ft away, it's that sort of place. You are close to nature to get a glimpse but close enough to villages to get what you need. We found Callander handy for provisions but Crieff the prettier place with a few more places to eat and buy things. You are not too far away to go on a distillery tour o...more
Spent a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful week at the Wee Orchard Lodge, Lochearnhead. Situated in a superb central location, it really is the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. The facilities at the Wee Orchard Lodge are superb with lots of nice little touches everywhere, including a very Scottish themed welcome bag. A real little home from home, with just about everything you might need already thought of by the owners. Alan was a fantastic host, helpful, genial, always available yet totally unobtrusive. The hot tub was amazing, with no better way to finish off a long day's walking and/or d...more
Location - Almardon is a 5 minute walk from the centre of Callander either along the main street or along a cycle/footpath accessed from the rear garden. This path also led through beautiful countryside to the 2 woollen mills at Kilmahog and beyond! Property - 3 en suite double bedrooms, fabulous kitchen and comfortable lounge/dining area.We were joined each morning and late afternoon by 2 swallows that had decided to perch on the external porch doors! Very clean and well appointed and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. Callander is a good centre from which to explore the beautiful ...more
Great holiday home in a very pretty village for a group or large family. Good location for nearby walking and watersports. Very close to several restaurants and supermarket. Beautifully fitted out house with a well thought out kitchen and dining area. Great place for a party.
We spent a week in The Old Schoolhouse. The house itself is completely renovated, has all modern conveniences. From the outside it is cosy and authentic. The view on the Loch is breathtaking. It is located very close to some great trails. The distance to nearby villages is just a couple of miles and Edinburgh is about an hour away. The house quickly became our home away from home and we had a wonderful time.
Couldn't wish for a nice flat. Beautiful and lovely garden to sit in. Couldn't wish for anything more just lovely.
All very fine. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is cosy and comfortable, and well-equipped. One detail: the shower is in a bathtub and if you are 1.75m or taller your head touches the (low) ceiling. Would be nicer to have a regular shower (not a bathtub). An easier solution might be to remove the feet of the bathtub so that it is lowered with 10 cm. Not a big problem though.
Great location for Loch Lomond national park. House very stylish and amazingly well equipped with underfloor heating and LED lighting. Truly hotel standard accommodation (and I mean a vey good hotel standard). Happy to recommend it.
Just spent a week in Fern cottage in Killin. Lovely village, Lovely area lovely accommodation the cottage was spotless and really good. Nice touch was tea and biscuits on arrival. Even the Scottish liquid sunshine which we had plenty of didn't dampen our spirits... Lol.... Just like to say, as we paid for the week, we didn't reall like the Coppers Cottage Holiday Let advertising board on the front of the property. Made us feel as though we were being branded ! Other than that really nice place. Dave & Suzanne from Folkestone.
We chose Annfield primarily because of its location in Callander. Shops and cafes of allsorts were available from supermarkets to craft shops and bakeries. On arrival we were greeted by Janet , the owner who showed us around. She explained the heating system and told us to turn it up if we were cold. She was very friendly and gave us her phone number should we need it. The bungalow was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We would certainly recommend the property to a couple or a small family.
From the first moment we felt really comfortable at Tomanour. The house is well equipped and offered enough space for the 4 of us with our 2 dogs. The garden was spacious and children and dogs loved to be outside in it. The closer area invites for lovely walks of all length so does the further area. We definitely recommend Tomanour for all people who want to visit Scotland.
the location is perfect for water sports and for visiting south scotland, situated at one hour from glasgow, edimburgh, east and west coast. the cottage is perfect in everithing
We had a lovely time. The cottage is very well furnished, spaceous and equipped with everything you might ever need! A nice table in the back garden allows you to enjoy a meal surrounded by beautiful nature. We can highly recommend a stay at Mid Cottage east!
Very cosy and spacious cottage in a great location. Loved the sitting room - a good place to relax. The whole booking experience was very efficient and impressive. Overall, the cottage exceeded expectations. We would certainly recommend it. Minor criticisms: TV reception was patchy - BBC channels especially - we wanted to watch the Wimbledon final and it spoilt it when the picture kept getting glitches. Could have left some shower gel / soap in the bathrooms (rather than just hand soap) and more sugar (rather than 5-6 sachets) given it is a week stay. It comes across as a bit petty.
My daughter and I have just had our second visit to Fire Station Cottage. Once again, it had everything we required and in a perfect location as we have relatives living nearby. We will have no hesitation in returning.
The Old Bakery is well located just off the main street and within easy walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. We were met on arrival by Ron who showed us the ropes and provided good information about the local facilities and attractions. The only slight criticism was that, after our drive from Edinburgh, it would have been nice to find some milk in the fridge to save rushing straight out to the Co-Op to buy some before we could enjoy a cup of tea!
Great location for water sports and outdoor activities, equally brilliant for just chilling out on the decking or taking in the spectacular view from the upstairs lounge.
3rd visit to View Cottage and it never disappoints - the sunroom is a lovely addition too! Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a cosy feel and peace and quiet.
The house is as described, comfortable and very well equipped. The drive is steep but manageable. My only complaint is the decking, it's treacherous and even the areas with chicken wire on were still slippy. I think it should be replaced with something more suited to Scottish weather. That said I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house, it's in a simply stunning location and I would go back.
Comfortable cottage, welcoming and helpful owners. Ideally positioned for access to the local shops/pubs and many delightful walks.
The property was surprisingly spacious, well equipped and very clean and comfortable. Our girls were delighted with their huge upstairs bedrooms and very comfortable beds. The mattress in the downstairs double bedroom is possibly in need of changing, but otherwise, again a spacious and comfortable bedroom. The bathrooms were clean, spacious and easy to use, though the upstairs shower had an issue with dripping after use. It was very powerful though. We could not have asked for a more beautiful location, with stunning views over the Loch Earn that made you glad to be alive. The gardens we...more
Really enjoyed my stay. Was especially grateful for the plentiful supply of firewood etc. for the wood burner , kept the lodge lovely and cosy. Cooper cottages were also a pleasure to deal with.
Had to find somewhere to stay whilst visiting family just outside Perth and this was still available peak holiday week, probably because it does not really suit everybody with 3 double beds so not really family friendly more for groups of couples which we were. Lovely property bit of a drive down the loch to get anywhere as quite remote with no local facilities such as a shop, the nearest being Kenmore about 3 miles away but worth the drive!
