A cottage with unique character surrounded by charming walled gardens, with 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms (2 of which are en-suite), a living room, dining room and kitchen with breakfast area. Sleeps up to 12 people.

This cottage has a ground floor bedroom so is suitable for a gathering with a person restricted mobility. Please contact the owner prior to booking if you have any special requirements or requests. We will do all we can to help.

Beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need. Lovely countryside setting whilst still being very close to Norwich.
Friendly and helpful owners who answer every communication promptly.
This is our 3rd year at Gaffers and we will be back next year.

Jack, Sheelah and the whole team at Spixworth Cottages were so helpful throughout our entire stay. We feel so lucky to have found the perfect venue for our wedding and to have had all our friends and family stay on site with us. The cottages were perfectly equipped and really comfortable, and the extra facilities like the games room and swimming pool were perfect in the heat! Thank you all so much. Cath and Tim

We all very much enjoyed our stay at Gaffers Cottage. Location is great both logistically and within the grounds of Spixworth Hall.

The staff and service were very friendly and always helpful.

The swimming pool was great! For an outdoor pool, it was always a very good temperature & very well maintained. Our brother-in-law also hugely enjoyed the private fishing lake.

Our (very minor) areas of improvement would be some of the plants/trees within the garden could do with cutting back, particularly by the back gate. The garden furniture could perhaps be updated at some point as some family members struggled a bit with the chairs.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience & we would definitely return in the near future.

Fantastic family reunion in Gaffers cottage. Something for everyone and such a relaxing place to be. The play barn is great for the kids and there is a modern play park with swings too! We loved the pool too! We will be back!

I’ve booked two cottages gaffers and the granary.
This was for my sons wedding where all the family could stay.
Is there any wool gaffers is the 16th century building which has been converted into a large cottage.
It was the ideal place for us all to stay. We felt very at home and comfortable.
Sheila and Jack could not have been more helpful and kinder.
Definitely recommend to a large family or group.
The swimming pool (please don’t change it) was brilliant like going back in time and the fact that you can book slots was great.

I had my wedding here in the last week of June and it couldn't have been more perfect. We hired out all of the cottages and every single one was spotless, comfortable, and charming. They all come fully equipt with easy access to information if you need it. The staff are so kind and welcoming too. 10/10 stay, 10/10 wedding location.

We absolutely loved our stay at Gaffers Cottage, due to a large booking our group was split across Gaffers and Pond. Both cottages were exactly how our bride to be envisioned, quirky, beautifully decorated and in a gorgeous countryside setting.

It was the perfect setting for a classy hen weekend for her where we were able to play games and just enjoy each others company for the whole weekend.

The cottages were also well stocked with cups, plates, cooking utensils and towels.

I'm sure many of us will be visiting again in the future! Thank you for having us!

The accommodation was very clean and although generally comfortable although the beds could do with being a bit larger, especially the family room doubles…Jack and Sheila were fantastic hosts, catering for all our needs and requests. The whole site, with the games room barn was great. We used the barn for line dancing which was ideal.

Great base for exploring Norfolk. Family enjoyed the stay, weather was really good for us. Beds were comfortable. Games room was ideal. Would definately recommend it for a family holiday.

We enjoyed a lovely week in Gaffers Cottage with lots of walks for us and our dog - with a handy poo bin. Luckily not all of our party of ten could be with us all of the time so there was some 'coming and going' which enabled us to spread out a little, otherwise the kitchen space would have been somewhat congested. The pool was ideal, although a shower on site would have been good..

The location of this property is perfect for visiting the coast, the Norfolk Broads and Norwich. It is set in the middle of a farm and whilst there are several holiday cottages we barely saw another person. You feel like you are lord of the manner in the middle of nowhere. The only noise is the tweet of the birds!

We stayed here with extended family for a reunion and the Gaffers was perfect enough space for 4 families, grandparents, children, grandchildren and dogs!

We had everything we needed; a well stocked kitchen, cosy lounge and bedrooms, enough bathrooms with excellent showers (and a bath). Access to stunning gardens, a bbq, outdoor seating, playground, swimming pool AND a tennis court!

The owners were friendly and welcoming but left us to ourselves. The place wasn’t full of rules and regulations, it felt so relaxing! And they even arranged stunning weather for us! Perfect!

We had a lovely stay. The house was spacious and comfortable. The children felt right at home immediately. The Play Barn was an added bonus which they loved.
The location was perfect within easy reach of the coast.

We were 8 adults and 6 children. We loved the beautiful cottage we stayed in which accommodated us perfectly. The peace and beauty of the garden for children and adults to enjoy. Coming back from a day at the beach or visiting another area of Norfolk was lovely as it was so quiet and peaceful. The accommodation had plenty of space for all of us to enjoy and not to get in each other's way. The children loved exploring and going to watch 'Tilly' the horse get ready to go on a hack. The pool was a must for all of us and we thoroughly enjoyed walking through the fields to our swim. Definitely want to visit you again.
