Really enjoyed our short stay, wished we had had more time, and will hopefully be back again in the near future.
Well equipped apartment with wonderful views.Ideal base for exploring the wider area .Good public transport on the doorstep .
A lovely, clean and very comfortable cottage. Very well situated for the seafront, 5 mins walk, and the train and bus stations. Just a very slight incline to reach the cottage from the main road. Cottage very well equipped but could possibly do with offering free wi fi. A good base for exploring the region either by car or public transport.
This is the second year running we have been to Torquay and last year the property we rented was in a different location was beautiful so did not know what to expect. But i have to say the Mount Braddon Mews we rented this year was just as nice. perfect location, very quiet and parking space. very tastefully decorated with all the mod cons we required. there was even bucket and spades, crabbing nets for the kids to use in the garage. All in all it was perfect for our needs. FANTASTIC HOLIDAY.
Another brilliant week at deer park barn. Beautiful surroundings, perfect location and very welcoming owners make it a great base for touring Torbay and surrounding areas Already planning a return trip next year
This is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in for some years. From the welcoming mince pies, Christmas tree, milk and teabags to the comfort and 'homely' feel of the cottage. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for a holiday stay. Every room is big and comfortable and little touches like pictures on the wall, clocks and ornaments make it feel like home. I could go on and on but there are too many things to praise. It is just about the best place to stay Torbay
Cant fault the holiday home, we had the best time there, a short walk down hill to the heart of torquay. mr and mrs bell were fabulous, nothing too much trouble and made to feel welcome. hopefully we will be staying there again in future holidays. have already recomended to others
Excellent clean and tidy accommodation (Stanley Apartment 1) with plenty of room and off road parking. Great views of Paignton pier and of Torquay and a short walking distance to the seafront and shops. A very reasonable price too. What more could you ask for.
We have stayed here a number of times and found Betty and Bill to be excellent and very helpful hosts. The bonus is that the cottage is only a mile away from family
Wow lovely place to stay July 2017 have already 're booked for 2018 lovely views nice decor clean and tidy
Had great time cosy place to stay, everthing you need for a great holiday. ben loved the garden , weather made our week
We recently spent a week at Hilbre apartment, it is in a lovely location, stunning views across the river. The apartment was immaculately clean, and there was everything we could have wanted, the owners provided a folder with details of places of interest, from places to eat, to bus and train timetables, local amenities, etc, etc! They were really friendly and provided milk, coffee, tea, etc when we arrived, for a very welcome cuppa! It is a real home from home, and we would definitely stay again when we have the opportunity.
Really lovely cottage in a superb location, cottage had everything you could possibly need for a lovely week away. Will definitely book again.
We took both Hesketh Mews Port and Hesketh Mews Starboard so our whole family could enjoy Christmas together - 6 children aged 4-12 and 7 adults. Both properties were well presented - spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable. The location was excellent with something for all ages. The kids loved the beach, the adults even took a (brief) Boxing Day dip! Service from the agent was faultless, value for money excellent. As you can tell, we all enjoyed an wonderful break.
Couldn't fault the house catered for every member of the family, great position for all the attractions, five minutes walk to babbacombe downs
Although the house is small, with its 3 bedrooms it fits perfectly for 2 adults and 3 children. The wooden furniture with the sailing decor elements create a warm atmosphere. The location is perfect (in a quiet little street, only 2 minutes walk to harbour and town centre). The only weak point is the terrace in the back of the house. It is small and could be improved. We enjoyed our stay in the house very much.
Rydon Ball bungalow is on part of a farm and is such a peaceful place with excellent views of Dartmoor. The bungalow is well laid out with 2 bedrooms - one with an en-suite bathroom. The location means that the Devon Riviera is within reach, as is Newton Abbot and Totnes. Good for watching the local wildlife of birds, rabbits, etc. and also the farm animals as there were 2 calves born to the cows in the adjoining field while we were there.
Apartment was clean and tidy, with enough space for 2 Adults and 2 teenagers. Location was good, short walk to both beach and town. Kitchen facilities were ok, 'freezer' was only an ice box in fridge and a full set of saucepans not just 1 would be great, as it's a self catering flat, glad I took my slow cooker! Otherwise it was a good apartment as a base and would recommend to others....May be WiFi would be an advantage but made my teenagers find other things to do :-)
Excellent stay beach close by, but a 15 minute walk to nearest shop. Would have also liked a good restaurant within walking distance.
Great house handy for public transport shopping and eateries wifi added bonus would recommend may not be suitable for young children no downstairs loo
This house was a great base for our holiday. It was clean and had everything we needed and had great views. However the sofas in the lounge were very uncomfortable and my partner and I both had bad backs by the end of the week. The beds were clean and comfortable but unfortunately the toilet was broken and had to have a plumber out twice to fix the flush over the bank holiday weekend. Unable to fix without parts so we had to make do for the week, not so good for a family of 5 but we weren't there much as out enjoying the beautiful area. Would recommend apart from the sofas.
I found Stanley duplex to be very clean and comfortable. The flat is very large and having wi-fi included was a bonus. The bathroom downstairs was very spacious but the en-suite from the additional upstairs bedroom was slightly compact. The owners were very friendly. There is a sea view from the kitchen window and one of the bedrooms. The flat could be improved by.the additional of a dishwasher and washing machine.as these seem to be the only items missing. The flat is in a good position and is only a few minutes walk from the harbour where there are a few shops along with some restaurants & ...more
Susan and myself always stay at holiday flats all around the country,we love the total freedom staying in a flat gives you. The flat at Oldway we both agreed has to be the best we have ever stayed in. The flat on arrival was absolutely immaculate, The kitchen was equipped with every item you could wish for. Both bedroom's very spacious, and the beds extremely comfortable, lovely bathroom and separate toilet. We both had a wonderful week in Paignton none stop sunshine and the flat was the icing on the cake. We will be in touch with Sarah and Andy next year because we would love to book this fla...more
Ideal location for the town centre 5 minute walk.lovely view of the sea and marnia from balcony. The accomdation was very clean and 3 levels suited us as a family, kids could have there own space.tea & coffee a plenty on arrival was a nice touch.3 showers and 3 tiolets was good too. My only gripe was there was only 1 key but no hardship reallly.
A lovely cottage with everything we needed. Main building is really nice with good size rooms and a kitchen with everything we needed, garden is large and well kept with plenty of outdoor furniture. Having the wifi in the kids bedroom was annoying, as ours pulled it down and disconnected it twice - it would be nice if it could be connected to a wall securely..
Our holiday at Bienvenue was brilliant in every way. However the only downside was that the neighbours parked their cars strategically to make access to the drive very difficult.
Despite paying a premium rate, this property was a little disappointing. It felt like we had moved into someone else's property - lots of bits and pieces left in wardrobes, drawers & cupboards. It did not feel like a holiday let. Fridge, oven & sandwich toaster were not clean & some of drawers in bedrooms not cleared out. We always rent premium properties in Torquay & are used to much better quality & extra provisions such as soap, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, etc that were not provided. There was no information provided about the refuse/recycling. The location and space within the apartm...more
Great cottage right near the quay. 3 pubs within a stone's throw and a good car park not far away where we always found a space.Cottage was plenty big enough for the three of us.2 good sized bedrooms and a great kitchen with everything we needed.a couple of niggles were dealt with quickly and efficiently by the rep in Teignmouth which was fab!Would definitely recommend.
We had a very nice stay at this apartment and would not hesitate to book again. The apartment had all that we needed.
The accommodation at Westerland was excellent and the garden very restful with plenty of wild life to watch. It made a good base for my wife to revisit her childhood haunts in the vicinity of Marldon and to visit our favourite tourist spots such as Cockington and Berry Head. The Smokey House Inn is highly recommended for food and Occombe Farm for its food, shop and farm walks together with nearby Occombe Woods. The local Post Office and shop are well stocked and the staff very friendly.
Stayed here for work, apartment was ideal, clean and comfortable. Location is perfect only a few minutes walk into town.
We arrived at the bungalow and found easy secured parking.on entry found a comfortable well eqipped property with all the comforts of home.We relaxed immediately. The views were lovely of the ocean and Torquay. Cant say enough about the property. It could not be imroved upon. The neighbours were very welcoming and friendly and even the owner of the property came to see us too ask if everthing was ok. Cant recommend highly enough. Will definately visit in the future God willing.
Our stay at Sandpiper was very comfortable. On arriving at the property it was lovely and warm and we appreciated the welcoming tea tray. Everything in the property was clean and obviously looked after. The nearby shops being an easy walk away were a bonus and can recommend the local fish and chip shop. The location was ideal as it was easy to get on to the ring road for further afield destinations and just down the road the other way for the seafront. We would definitely stay again at this property.
Myself, husband and mother spent w/c 5th August at Sea Peeps in St Maryschurch. We usually spend a week every year visiting nearby relatives in Torquay and book into B&B's however this has become costly so this year looked at self catering and came across Sea Peeps on the Blue River Cottages website. This is very good value for money as the place has two good sized bedrooms one with a double bed the other with twin beds, a good size living room with a two and three seater settee, dining room and kitchen along with downstairs bathroom. It was very clean however at first felt like there was ...more
We had previously always stayed at nearby Kingsway bungalow - we fancied a change but were disappointed. The telephone in the hallway was covered in dust as was the bookcase in the lounge. There was a large dead spider on the bedroom wall - the weather turned chilly later in the week and only one small convector heater was available. There was no coffee table and we had to use a picnic table we had with us and the sofa was not fit for purpose - so uncomfortable. We would not recommend this property nor make a return visit.
The property is very nice, clean and has almost everything a small family needs. The location is central for visiting Torquay but I would advise driving as the hill the property is on is very steep. Lots to do around the area (again driving is essential). Only problem found is that the property really needs a proper shower fitted with a screen or curtain installed instead of tap mounted unit. Very tricky to use without soaking the floor otherwise!!!
Stayed here with my girlfriend for 5 nights and I would highly recommend. You're within 5 minutes from everything you're gonna need, View is absolutely amazing! The property itself, Very clean and cosy, Everything in the property that you'd need.
A pleasant surprise when we arrived with a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits which were very much appreciated. The property was very clean and comfortable with plenty of room. The facilities in the property covered everything you needed and more we felt that the owners had gone that bit extra to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Nice location, flat was just refurbished so in excellent condition. Good views all round and in particular from the second bedroom. A pleasant stay, helped by the good weather !
The bungalow was comfortable & generally spacious, although the rear shower room/toilet was cramped & smelled of drains. When we booked in December '16 it was via a company called Holiday Lettings & was given a totally different booking reference. Unfortunately, there was a change of ownership ... Blue River Cottages kept sending us email requests for the deposit & final payment even after everything had been paid. Our emails were not replied to & it took many phone calls to resolve the issue. We also noticed that the total cost of the following week was £899 ... we paid £1013:33.
House in lovely quiet position with really good view of the bay. The house is quite dated but was clean and tidy. However. the double bed and bedding, ie duvet and pillows are all desperate for replaceing. The pans and cups let the kitchen down badly too. If these items are replaced the house would feel much more 'comfortable'.
House is comfortable and has everything you need. Couple of niggles the door to ensuite needs attention as due to new carpet being fitted the door was very hard to open and close, also the toilet seat lid was missing. Overall we all enjoyed our holiday here.
Lovely accommodation, spacious & well equipped, would recommend & stay again, just a small point it could do with darker curtains in front bedroom, we moved to back room.
we enjoyed our stay very much at torwood gables Torquay a great place and gables was close to harbour and shops and a great pub Devon arms ferry a great way to travel to Brixham weather was good to lovely holiday
Comfortable enough apartment for a short break...a bit misleading that it sleeps 3, we were expecting a sofa bed or something when we booked it to find out when contacted by the agent that this was as a baby being the 3rd person only...cot provided only. We bought a camping bed and made up a den for my 8 year old to make it feel a bit more special and everything was fine. Didn't realise initially that the apartment was part of the hotel complex so tried to get into the property from the rear...entrance a bit shabby, really feel the entrance should be via the courtyard with the current front ...more
We have been holidaying at pandora for the past couple of years and found it suited our needs perfectly! we have found it clean and spacious and in excellent condition, except for the sun lounge which was a bit dusty and had some insect inhabitants! The ironing board could do with replacing; it doesn't stand properly... The best part was the friendly helpful service, when we wanted to change our arrival date, when we left something behind, and whenever we were in contact!
