Nice little cottage in a convenient location with great facilities. Best in the summer when you can sit outdoors. Very friendly and helpful owners. Lovely cafe/ farm shop close by.

We had a fantastic time staying here. The beds were very comfy, the pool was lovely and warm. We enjoyed pottering (we had a toddler so only short distances!) around the farm fields watching the sheep. We were lucky to see several lambs being born, which was incredible. Ed was especially lovely chatting to us from the fields every morning, despite being busy. He probably doesn’t normally have a family of spectators at 6:30 every morning. Becky also kindly arranged for us to go and cuddle some lambs, they were so adorable.

The farm shop can be got to via a 20/30 minute country walk, or a 10-15 minute shorter walk that’s got a bit on a footpath by a main road. We went both ways a few times, each with a toddler on a balance bike, and it was safe and fun.
The kitchen was well stocked with utensils. There was salt and pepper in ours - potentially from previous guests. You’ll need to get cooking oil (we forgot) and get bin bags if you are there for a week. We had very little reception at times, its worth noting the WiFi password from the email beforehand just in case, as we couldn’t my open the email when we got there due to poor reception the first evening. The WiFi is great, we took our Amazon fire stick for ease of signing in only once (the TV is smart as well), and everything ran smoothly on the WiFi.
We barely explored the surrounding area as we’re fairly home bound by the baby and toddler naps, and we wanted a very slow pace. However in future years, the opportunity for longer walks was clear, and obviously Bath and Bradford on Avon are well worth a proper explore.

We had a great stay at Church Farm with a group of 19 of us. The function room and pool were a great bonus and it was such a nice place to be with lovely walks on the doorstep - just a really relaxed feel overall. Next time we need to be more organised and book the sauna!

We had a lovely stay in Lime Kiln cottage . It was very well equipped with everything that we needed and was very quiet. The beds were very comfortable and it was nice and warm on a very cold few days. The added bonus of a swimming pool, table tennis and a gym were very welcome . It was only a short easy walk to a lovely pub, where the bus stops and takes you into Bath .

We stayed with 2 other groups in 3 cottages for my 60th birthday weekend. The cottages were comfortable and just what we needed. Being close to each other meant we could pop in on each other but also have our own time. The pool was a great facility with the games room. The walks were fabulous around the village and down to the aqueduct.
Our only disappointment was having rung the local pub a couple of months ago to check they were doing take away food that when we went to order on the Saturday they turned us away as they were too busy. We were told we should have booked a couple of weeks ago.
We used the Walnut Room as we had a large group and this was brilliant for all 10 of us eating socially. We even decorated it!
I would thoroughly recommend the sheep herding and farm Olympics activities too! It was well organised and great fun. Harriet was brilliant and shared so much knowledge about her sheep and farming. Really interesting! Overall a great weekend. Thank you!

Just got back from a great stay at lime kiln cottage. The booking was easy to do and the service from the host was great. They were able to arrange out tickets for longleat with ease.
We also got a food hamper from them from a local farm shop. Thus was value for money and tasted great, we had everything we needed.
The cottage was lovely and the use of the heated pool was a great added extra.

I stayed here with my family for a week in August. The cottage is in a nice area and has an outdoor seating area. It's in quite a good location as there is a farm shop next door, it's on a working farm which means plenty of wildlife around. The lodge is right next to the pool and washing machines/driers which made it idea. The pool was slightly on the cooler side, while this didn't bother me, my young girls found it challenging as they can't swim to keep warm. We also did the farm experience run by Harriet and Becky, that I cannot recommend enough it was a fantastic experience even on a rainy day. On the negative side, the mattress in the main bedroom is done, I slept with a pillow under my legs to alleviate the back pain. I am not one to complain thought so I just got on with it! This was only a minor issue in the grand scheme of things.

We booked out all the cottages at Church Farm to accommodate a family and friends celebration weekend. There were several couples with youngsters and the availability of the pool was a real hit with all the children and some of their parents too. A great facility whether the weather is inclement or not. The games room was also well used, and we held a table tennis tournament for the adults.
All the cottages were very well equipped with good quality linen and kitchenware including a full set of sharp knives – something we rarely find in a rental property but certainly gets 10/10 from us. There is also a Smart TV in every cottage.
The space in front of the cottages is surrounded by hedgerows and gates, which is ideal, as the children could not inadvertently wander into the car park. It also provided a great communal space for everyone to enjoy socialising together. The owners lent us a gas BBQ which we made good use of, and we thank them for that.
We had the option to use the function room but happily the weather was relatively kind to us, and we did not need to decamp into this at all. However, it is a bonus to have it available if required.
We would certainly recommend this venue to anyone.

We took three cottages for three nights at Church Farm for my sister's 70th Birthday. The booking was made 11 months before the event, and inevitably in the meantime 'life happened', people had to drop out, a couple split up, a husband had to go to work abroad for a length of time, and each change was dealt with kindly and co-operatively by the admin. team at Church Farm. We ended up with four dogs in the three cottages, (all very well-behaved!), and this was accepted without question.
We four adults stayed in Lime Kiln cottage which has the walk-in shower-room (necessary for my husband), and it was fine if a bit small. Each cottage has a different layout, and I felt ours was OK for four, but would have perhaps been better for a family with children. The kitchen was well-equipped and clean, the seating was OK but maybe not that great for four oldies!
We made great use of the Walnut Room for family evening meals including the birthday dinner. The staff were very relaxed about what we did in there, and we felt under no pressure to conform to any rules. (Not that we were having a wild party or anything!) The staff use part of this building for their own admin., and low-level cooking/eating facility, but the Walnut Room itself was clean and tidy and perfect for us to decorate and use as we wanted.
Most of the family went on the Lambing Experience tour one afternoon, and were full of praise for how very interesting it was, not to mention the girls drooling over cuddling baby lambs!
We made good use of Hartley's Farm Kitchen just along the road in the huge farm shop for Sunday lunch and Monday breakfast, but didn't get to any other local hostelries. I am sure there are plenty of great ones though around, being close to Bath and Bradford-on-Avon.
Overall a very happy stay, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a family event such as ours, or families/groups on their own.

We parked our car on arrival and did not use it again while on our three night mid week break. We used the regular bus through Winsley to visit Bath and walked the canal path to Bradford on Avon. The cottage was perfect for our stay and the pool was used everyday. The farm shop and Seven stars pub are well worth a visit amazing food at both.
