The property itself was lovely: decorated to a high standard with very interesting and quirky furnishings. However, the mattress is probably towards the end of its life and not very comfortable. In addition, the location was a little disappointing being wedged between a main road and train line .... in winter it was fine with the windows closed but not quite the peaceful, relaxing and comfortable retreat for which we were hoping.

Thank you for your review. We are very surprised that you were disappointed by the location, possibly with the winter foliage it made it feel more exposed. The views out to Bosham water across the fields are some of the best around. There is unfortunately the road (Bosham straight) in between but we hope this isn't too noticeable. There is the train line running across the fields behind, most people quite like the station being so close but this does cause some train noise. We will pass on your feedback to the host about the mattress we are glad you liked the way the lodge was decorated. The owner spent a lot of time trying to make it just right.
