This is a fabulous one bedroom apartment, had absolutely everything you need, it's spacious, clean, lots of storage & the bed was super comfy, just can't fault it.
Location, obviously you don't have a sea view (the price reflects this) but don't let this put you off, it's still a great location on Pentire & the building works which we were fully aware of did not affect our stay.

This was amazing place to stay!
the views off the roof top was great so much room it had everything you will need and more. Thank you for letting us make some great memories

I've stayed in the apartment many times.
Its large for a one bedroom apartment, well equipped, has a great location, 2 minutes to Fistral Beach, 15 minute walk into Newquay Town, walks around the Pentire headland, close to the Gannel for walks at low tide, access to Crantock beach from the Fern Pit cafe (when open), easy road entrance and exit drive out of Newquay.

At the time of a staying (June 2023) a new apartment block in under construction across the street (about 75% complete). The lounge window just catches the edge of the new block. There are deliveries, builders etc but I didn't find the noise effected my holiday or to be particularly loud. I would not let the building works deter you from booking this apartment, they didn't affect my holiday in any way.







Good but be aware of new building developments very close by.

I’ve stayed in 1 Oceans Gate several times.

It’s close to Fistral Beach, is much larger than the average 1 bedroom apartment, furnished an equipped well. Compared to some other properties close by, it is good value.

I like the location, nice walk around “the block” past Fistral beach, up the Pentire coast and around down “Millionaires row”. It’s about a 20 minute walk into Newquay Town which for me was fine, I like walking.

The broadband is fast should you need to work from the apartment. 

The apartment has always been spotlessly clean when I’ve arrived.

Negatives.

The bed mattress is very firm, on my previous stay I struggled to sleep so this trip I purchased a memory foam topper from Argos. That worked well enough to take the edge off and I was able to sleep.

A brand new apartment block is being built right outside the bedroom window. The noise starts at 8am and ends around 3-3:30pm Monday through Friday.

 And now I believe the old hotel across the street from the lounge window is being demolished and another new apartment block is being built, scheduled to be finished late 2022.

Summary, Good value, large, clean apartment with fast broadband, bed may be uncomfortable for some people, you will get noise from builders during the day Monday through Friday if thats not a problem for you I’d highly recommend.

Thank you for your comments and observations of this apartment which you know very well as a returning customer. In answer to the building works yes that is accurate and we have placed the appropriate notice on our property page to reflect the noise etc. We have been informed the noisy works will be completed by August 2021. Newquay is a developing town and extremely popular with investors and developers now that Rock, Padstow and Watergate Bay have been fully developed. This is a sign of Newquay's prosperity. With regard to the bed mattress this is subjective as many guests like firm and others softer mattresses so we would say it didn't suit yourself this time but another guest will find it acceptable next time. We trust this does not put you off coming back and as you well know we give all of our existing customers a customer loyalty discount off their next holiday.

Everything went smoothly, from check in to check out. Apartment is located in a great place and has many important features for surfing, like easily accessible storage box downstairs, key holder box or the shower in the garage. Great place for a getaway, would recommend to anyone.
