Set in Scotland in the Fife countryside, just 10 miles from St Andrews and 5 miles from Dundee, Sandford Country Cottages are luxury self-catering cottages which are part of Sandford House, a 'B' Listed Arts and Crafts House designed by Mackay Hugh Baillie Scott around 1902.
The cottages have been restored with Arts and Crafts features such as oak beams and posts. Two and three bedroom properties are available and all bedrooms are en-suite, with either a bath or a walk-in shower, both are fitted with Trevi rainwater showers.
In the living areas you'll find spacious open plan kitchen/living/dining rooms with oak beams and posts, comfy seating and a dining table and chairs. There is also a flat screen TV and an iPod dock. The kitchens are fully fitted with modern appliances.
All properties have oil central heating and a wood burning stove. Electricity, heating and one basket of logs is included in the rental cost, additional logs can be purchased from the office. WiFi is free.
Valentine's Cottage was exactly as pictured on the website, clean, comfortable, furnished to a high standard, in fact everything was excellent and I would recommend this cottage for a short or long stay. The food basket was most welcome and the additional fruit basket perfect.
The location is good located on a quiet hillside, although close a main road. We travelled extensively while staying at the cottage and found the location perfect.
If you are looking for five star accommodation in a central location this is the place to stay.
Sandford's Lady Bluebell was a beautiful cottage, with lovely modern decor which still maintained a country cottage feel.
Fantastic accommodation for a family(which we needed with 4 kids) and we will definitely be back.
Handy for many activities in both Dundee and St.Andrews.
Lovely touch supplying a hamper style basket with some home essentials, among other things.
Owner/ Manageress was also very friendly and helpful.
For a local type of getaway it was perfect for us coming from Glasgow.
Lovely place which I would highly recommend.

In the family room there is a dining table in one corner and two convenient sofas plus another chairn in the center. This loungs suite is located to be able to loo...more
