Set in Scotland in the Fife countryside, just 10 miles from St Andrews and 5 miles from Dundee, Sandford Country Cottages are luxury self-catering cottages which are part of Sandford House, a 'B' Listed Arts and Crafts House designed by Mackay Hugh Baillie Scott around 1902.
The cottages have been restored with Arts and Crafts features such as oak beams and posts. Two and three bedroom properties are available and all bedrooms are en-suite, with either a bath or a walk-in shower, both are fitted with Trevi rainwater showers.
In the living areas you'll find spacious open plan kitchen/living/dining rooms with oak beams and posts, comfy seating and a dining table and chairs. There is also a flat screen TV and an iPod dock. The kitchens are fully fitted with modern appliances.
All properties have oil central heating and a wood burning stove. Electricity, heating and one basket of logs is included in the rental cost, additional logs can be purchased from the office. WiFi is free.
A fantastic long weekend for our wedding anniversary with dog in tow. Lovely welcome from Evelyn with a very nice welcome basket in the cottage. Beautiful cottage with views of the countryside, a real home from home. A huge thank you to Evelyn and Ralph for kindly driving us to the Peat Inn and arranging a taxi home for us. Will definitely be looking to visit again.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this place. We had such a lovely 3 night stay at the Baillie Scott cottage with our 2 young kids. Evelyn kindly showed us around when we arrived and provided a very generous welcome pack. The stair gate was very handy with young kids and the kids loved running around outside in the garden. We loved everything from the views, the comfy beds, the spacious interior and its location - it was close to St Andrew's and Cairnie Fruit farm which are great days out as well as Dundee for shopping. We hope to be back soon.
We had a peaceful 5 day stay in The Giddy Limit. The apartment was beautifully clean with quality fittings and the welcome basket of food was perfect. The history of the house is interesting and the conversion to holiday cottages very successful. Evelyn was a friendly and helpful host, unobtrusive but very happy to provide any information or information required. There are interesting walks nearby along the Fife Coastal Path.
