This was our 4th visit and booked for next year. Sue has thought of everything, house is very spacious and comfortable and cakes are delicious - we've tried them all. The views are amazing even when weather not so good and lots of wildlife just outside the windows
Bay cottage at the very end of the road around Ross Bay is surrounded with peaceful countryside, with the everchanging sea viewed from every window, and lapping at the shore right by the patio. It is a perfect place in which to relax and reflect, and recharge one’s batteries. The owner Sue - always friendly, cheerful and helpful - welcomed us and ensured we have all we need; and that includes home-made cake and icecream. We cannot praise the accommodation and location enough. As a wheelchair user it is perfect! Wide spaces, wide door frames, smooth floors and a ramp to the property. Sue runs a beautiful personal business with the right balance of friendliness and helpfulness. The accommodation is so well presented and equipped. This was our third visit and God willing will not be our last. Did I mention the views are stunning??? Well they are!
What a wonderful place to stay. We needed a holiday that took us to a peaceful place and we certainly had that with views of the sea and the sunrise. We and our dog were made welcome and the facilities were very good, even down to warm water in the tap outside for washing mud off boots and the dog. We will be back.
We spent a few days in Creel cottage last week. It is an amazing cottage, well equipped beautifully located and very cozy. Couldn't ask for better. Sue is a very welcoming host and nothing is too much bother. Great to have the enclosed garden too as we brought the dog. If you want to get away from it all this is the perfect place.
The property is ideally placed for access for fishing in Ross Bay. It was just right for me after a tiring days fishing to be able to prepare a meal,relax and prepare for the following day. Unfortunately, I didn't find the fishing good on the days I visited with strong North West winds and a heavy swell, so I departed early before the end of my tenure.
We booked last minute. Location was pretty village with 2 quality hotels and very safe. Had a bus route into Helmsley but times were confusing and irregular. Closest shop about 8 minutes drive. Working phone box opposite the cottage but unfortunately soon to go due to lack of use. There's a very pretty and welcoming church a few doors down and if you want to go swimming at The Star Hotel it advertised @£25 for 4 people/hour.
