We had an amazing stay at Ross Bay’s Old Cheeseloft. The location is simply stunning and the cottage couldn’t provide more for a comfortable stay, everything we needed, and more! On arrival we were greeted with a beautiful cake and local ice cream as well as complimentary arrival packs for tea, coffee etc and a ‘tide you over’ cleaning pack ….. so well thought out and presented. The owners are so helpful and friendly and, considering we were a last minute booking, we couldn’t have been more welcomed. Great place to stay. Only 2 minor comments.The log burner ash pan was full on arrival and the previous occupants rubbish was still in the bin.. Apart from that a great holiday and we have re booked for next year.
We had another lovely week at Ross Bay Retreat in the Dairy House. As usual we had a great welcome from Sue. Cake, ice cream and an Easter egg. Everything provided ,a real home from home. We had family in the other cottages and we all had a great time.
We always enjoy staying here and we stay here every March. Fantastic location and Sue's chocolate fudge cake is the absolute best.
Enjoyable couple of days. The host was very helpful, professional and friendly. Home baked cake and ice cream was provided - a lovely touch! Very comfortable bed, clean and cosy. A rechargeable hand held hoover would be handy for keeping the floor clean during the stay. I would recommend staying here!
We have been visiting this cottage since 2021. On our first visit we were informed that the furnishings were reduced because of Covid 19 guidelines. Since the restrictions were lifted, unfortunately we haven’t seen any difference in the furnishings. We have described the cottage as feeling sparse and bare I.e no stair carpet, no rug, no cushions on the dining chairs and the living room furniture isn’t really comfortable. The photos on the website provide a different feeling than when you walk into the cottage. The price for staying is very reasonable but we would be happy to pay more for more...more
