Gitcombe is a special place. We try to hold a family holiday every year in a location which has something for every one. Gitcombe provides that. Lovely accommodation with great facilities in the heart of the Devon countryside.
Our family of 3 generations had an amazing holiday staying in the garden house. We enjoyed every minute. The pools were great for the grandchildren,whilst the adults enjoyed the hot tub and terrace with wonderful views over the countryside. The accommodation was well equipped for all our needs. Well situated for days out exploring the coastal resorts. Kept well informed with emails before and during our stay by Emma the estate manager. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.
Gitcombe is beautiful, life enhancing and joyous - a holiday in heaven on earth. We return year on year and love it more and more.
Facilities were very good at the site, especially both pools. However, the lack of storage and shelf space in the twin bedroom meant we could not fully unpack! We suggest a shelf over the sink and a small chest of drawers would be helpful. We had lots of information emails and texts, but no face to face contact on site which was odd. Pizza delivery evening was a success and the shed with nets, buckets/spades, boards etc was great as it saved on car space.
Superb family holiday - beautiful setting, high quality accommodation and so many resources on site for all ages to enjoy. Not cheap but well worth it.
Such a lovely place! Wonderful location in what feels like an undiscovered valley, with glorious views. Very comfortable high spec cottage. Lots of facilities for families. Absolutely charming and welcoming hosts. We love it and we and our family have been many times.
Our first time staying at Gitcombe and we'll definitely be back. Our cottage Meavy was lovely, clean and perfect for the three of us, with a visiting Grandparent for a couple of nights too. The facilities on site are superb and a real draw card - the pools were fab, and we loved being able to keep our busy toddler entertained. Emma was a brilliant estate manager and whilst we didn't need to ask her for anything, we had lots of help and information communicated for our stay. We're looking forward to coming back.
Simply great 12th consecutive year now for us and we really wouldn’t stay anywhere else Perfect place in a perfect place and counting the days to our next stay!
