The owner was very pleasant and helpful, we found the accommodation very comfortable and had everything we needed and also exceptionally clean. It is in a good location and there are plenty of Places of Interest nearby to visit.
A delightful stay in the Old Town of Hastings. The accommodation is first class and in a lovely location with delightful views from every window; we could have been in the Forest of Dean. The Old Town is vibrant with a host of fascinating small shops and masses of places to eat and drink. We loved it. Elisabeth and Bernard.
We had a fantastic break. Lovely walks for the dogs. We are booking again for the summer. Enough said !!
The cottage we stayed in was just as it was advertised, it was very well equiped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts were very attentive with just the right level of contact while we were staying there, the location is very good, just a few minuets from the shops and beaches, The cream tea on arrival is a very nice touch. If we travel in that area again we would definitely stay there again.
Great hosts with lovely welcome pack, the accommodation was spotless and cosy and the peaceful surroundings made this the perfect spot. Easy walk via footpaths and blue bell woods from rock house mews to the village and fab location for walks and the coast, highly recommend
We picked Dairy Cottage in Burley for location and advertised info .on website. We found the cottage to be very clean and well looked after. The owners were very welcoming and happy to give any help we needed about the area.
This year's holiday was one that I will remember for years to come as it was superb in every way you could imagine. The house had everything that one needs (even a fan) . The weather was also on our side as we had lovely weather for the 2 weeks. The owner were marvelous making our stay really pleasant.
The property was perfect! The owners wanted you to feel at home and we certainly did. The property was immaculate and everything was there that you needed, so much so we wished we could buy it! It was also in a fantastic location, walking distance from several pubs and cafes, only a 20 minute drive to the centre of Chichester and we spent a fantastic day at Arundel Castle and Gardens which we would highly recommend a visit to. We would definitely recommend this property and the area.
A very well equipped and maintained property. Conveniently situated near the restaurants and shops of Rye. An idea base for a short family holiday.
We found the cottage very comfortable with plenty of space for 2. Every room has been furnished to a very high standard, particularly the kitchen and bathroom, they also have a beautiful garden which you are able to use. This is by far one of the best cottages we have stayed in. The location was also ideal for us as we were able to achieve everything we had planned to do. Thank you Chris & Eileen for a memorable stay.
Warm welcome, exceptional standards of cleanliness, absolute comfort and an en-suite to die for!! Just wish we had more time booked for the stay
From the moment we arrived at The Reading Rooms we knew that we were going to enjoy our stay. We received a very warm welcome from the owner of the property. It was spotlessly clean and had everything thing we needed for our stay. Just around the corner from the property was an excellent pub called The Three Crowns. I have never experienced a pub like it everyone was so welcoming and the food was excellent. There is plenty to look at in this area and we would like to return again.
Great cottage equipped with everything we needed and more. Perfectly located and excellent parking. Highly recommend!
This was our second stay this year and like the first stay we were very happy!! Location is great, and as before the property is well fitted and very cozy!! We will hopefully use it again next March.
This was our second stay in this nice propriety nestled in the heart of Amberley , a little village which is full of charm with its thatched roof cottages. We had a great holiday in this very clean and very comfortable bungalow . The beautiful garden and the car park were fantastic bonuses . There are many interesting places for everyone in the area such as Arundel and its famous castle and antiques shops, Petworh House with Turner's paintings , Littlehampton and Brighton Pier with the amusements for the teens ... and it does not take too long to go to London, even by car !! Thank you so...more
The Potting Shed is located in an enchanting hamlet in West Sussex (car is essential), surrounded by countryside, streams, fishing lakes and villages (excellent walks). The owners, who live in the main house on site, are all that is friendly and helpful. We liked the cottage, which has a very well equipped kitchen and cosy living area upstairs and two small bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs. Great central heating (well used during an October half term), good wifi. My one quibble was that the bedrooms were a bit damp (lots of rain the week before). All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would rec...more
Was lovely relaxing quiet property set in a great location with easy access to the beautiful New forest, and also close to the lovely town of Lymington. Great pub(East End Arms) nearby and very friendly owners who just let you just enjoy their lovely cottage. Will be back.
Had a lovely short break at Honeysuckle Cottage, everything needed was provided plus several other very thoughtful extras. Beautiful views and lovely location ideal for visiting the surrounding countryside and also for walks into Petworth and the park. Would certainly book again.
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It's in a part of the country that we don't know well but instantly liked it and quickly got our bearings. The house is a charming, comfortable family house complete with an aga. The garden is delightful with the added treat of having a footpath through woodland right off it. This was great with dogs and children because no roads were involved for our afternoon walks and the village shop is just a bit further on. There are plenty of good, longer walks nearby too and Horsham is a lovely town worth visiting if only for a cream tea in the market squa...more
A very quiet hidden house, with some enchantment in the atmosphere and wonderful walks from the door.
This property exceeded my expectations, so much was provided, even fresh flowers. The only item I took which I used was my vegetable knife and peeler. The accommodation is so good for couples who wish to enjoy each others company without being on top of one another. One bedroom and bathroom is off the kitchen while the other two are upstairs enabling use of the bathroom or kitchen during the night without disturbing the other couple . There is also a conservatory so if you wish to have a quiet read whilst the tv is on in the main room you can. Chairs, sofa's and beds are very comfortable and...more
Our hosts, Guy and Mary, were warm and welcoming. The little cottage had everything we needed and the gifts of a bottle of wine and buscuits were lovely surprises. The location is very convenient to the Amberley Store and lots of terrific walks. The cottage is set in a quiet back space that faces a protected area and overlooks a really nice garden. For us, a perfect location, a comfortable bed, a great shower facility and welcoming hosts created the best possible experience! Hope to return.
....and well equipped. We had some trouble with the TV but the owner helped us out as soon as we asked. The oven is also pretty hi-tech, but we won! If we had to quibble about anything it would be to say that some climbing plants up the fence between the cottage and the main house would make that outlook more attractive. Well situated for walking and visiting places of interest.
Bay Tree Cottage is very spacious, homely and comfortable. There are many extras above and beyond what you would expect for a self catering property ( especially the home made biscuits and marmalade) It is also very well equipped, spotlessly clean, with a lovely outside sitting area for when weather permits. Would happily recommend Bay Tree Cottage.
A very well equiped apartment which was comfortable and clean. Well positioned for seafront and shops. A wide range of resteraunts to suit all tastes within easy walking distance. Parking was ok but could be a little aukward at busy times like the airshow. A very considerate welcome pack on arrival along with a very useful personal greeting. Overall a great stay in an apartment that I would recommend.
We as a family really enjoyed our stay at the very characterful and homely Truffle Cottage. On arrival we had a warm and friendly welcome from the owner, the cottage had some wonderful and thoughtful touches and everyone of us would love to return again. It was ideally sitauted for the city of Chichister, within easy reach to all the historical sites.
We loved our stay at Trewella Lodge and highly recommend it. We were given a warm welcome by the owners both personally and in the form of a basket of goodies and dairy products in the fridge. The house is tastefully decorated, extremely comfortable and well-equipped in every way, including reading material for young and old, plus toys for indoors and outdoors for our grandchildren. There was plenty of room for three adults and two children, and on sunny days we enjoyed the veranda and the garden. The house is in an absolutely quiet cul-de-sac, where we could only hear the birds singing. It ...more
Very stylish house, great interior, design bathrooms, very clean and in a superb location right across the Arundel castle site.
An excellent second stay and home from home. Good base from which to explore Rye on foot and Sussex/Kent border around Romney Marsh.
Enjoyed our stay in this lovely old cottage very much. Ideally located in Rye town centre which was quite unique in itself. Only drawback was the need to park in public car parks which was a little difficult sometimes but we had expected this and it would not stop us going back which we plan to do. Thank you.
This was our second visit to The Old Surgery and I know it won't be our last. As long as we have good health to repeat our holiday in 2019 we would certainly make The Old Surgery our place to stay on the last stage of our journey. It is the best place to unwind without a vehicle before returning to NZ. Took rental car back to Brighton from Hassocks. A lovely walk from The Old Surgery. Enjoyed 7 days of walks in South Downs and total bliss of the accommodation and summer house in the garden. Jenny and Nigel were like old friends. Really good to see them again. Great hosts. Nothing too mu...more
This is a lovely cottage in beautiful location. The property is well laid out, well maintained and run by really nice people.
From when we first arrived we knew it was going to be a great holiday. Pat was very welcoming and later on in the week Nick popped round for a friendly chat and to check everything was o.k. The cottage is beautiful with a very comfy double bed, a snug living room with a very nice wood burner which we thankfully didn't need as the weather was glorious Sitting at the breakfast table watching the birds in the garden early in the morning was a delight as well with the only other sounds being the cows and sheep in a field a few hundred yards away The main shower room was spacious as well and th...more
Swan Cottage was the best self-catering property I have experienced. It was beautifully furnished and decorated and ideally situated overlooking the River Arun, just a short walk from the centre of Arundel. Two car spaces meant we didn't have to try to park in the narrow streets of the town. The owner welcomed us warmly and explained everything we needed to know. She had also provided basic essentials eg bread, milk, butter, etc (much appreciated after our long journey).
We loved this little cottage. The kitchen and seating area on the ground floor were very well equipped and it was lovely to be able to open the french doors onto the sheltered outside seating area. Upstairs the bed was very comfy. The upstairs sitting room was a bonus for some quiet web browsing. Lots of public footpaths literally from the door take you around fields, along streams and through woods. The lane from the road to the cottage seems longer than you expect and is a little narrow and needs care but this just adds to the charm. All the surrounding villages are worth exploring and ...more
Very comfortable home. Quiet and peaceful area whilst being an ideal base to explore the surrounding countryside, also close enough to the coast to enjoy a visit.
This lovely little cottage nestled in a small village, next door to village pub surrounded by the downs what more could you want.
Mountsfield Lodge was a lovely place to spend our annual fortnight family holiday with three generations. The house was clean and comfortable and within an easy walk of the with shops and restaurants so that we didn't need to always use the cars. There really is plenty of parking (we need three spaces) which has not been our experience in other places where they say there are three spaces. It wasn't cold enough to put the heating on in the whole house, but that did cause a problem in the downstairs shower room where the towels just didn't dry. Some form of extra heating in there would have bee...more
We had a fantastic time here at Rosemary Cottage. Great cottage lovely and clean with everything we needed and more. Fantastic walks on your doorstep and great base for nearby coastal towns. We are planning to return again next year.
Had a lovely stay in the cottage, nice touches from the owners, including bread, eggs, butter and wine and fresh flowers. Would definitely stay again, and hopefully it won't rain as much.
We had a nice welcome of the hosts. On everything is thought: Filled fridge, fresh bread, cookies, drinks, shower gel and shampoo... The place has all the comfort you can think about. Good and well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable bed with view over the terrace. A lot of information about East-Sussex is available. Good place to start walks along the footpaths in fields (with friendly sheep and donkeys) and woods. A good spot to explore the county, cities with nice antique shops, and the coastal area.
The things that would have made the Ship Inn Cottage even better were more light in the sitting room - otherwise it was excellent.
Very modern and spacious cottage with a warm welcome in an wondervul environment and only a few minutes to the coast.
Lychgate Cottage is very well equipped and is within a short walking distance of Henfield and all it's amenities. The owners were welcoming and helpful and also kindly provided a very generous welcome pack. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Ideal location and property to get away from everything with family and pets. Just chill out or a short drive away (or long walk) something for everyone to do. Local shops were great for food and within easy walking distance. Nobody wanted to leave!
Tarante had everything we want from short-break self-catering accommodation; it was clean and comfy, quiet and cosy. Perhaps more importantly it was within easy walking distance of the town centre with its great bars and restaurants, and had parking. The owner was friendly and helpful (the milk was a nice touch, so we could have a much-needed cup of tea on arrival) and every detail seemed to have been thought of in the accommodation. The garden was available to us and it was nice to have an early morning coffee in the sunshine on the decking. Highly recommended.
Definitely recommend. Superb stable conversion that has all you need including a cosy log fire for those cool winter nights. Very clean and cosy.
This house is a relaxing comfortable place to stay. My daughter loved the mezzanine bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped, with a lovely welcome basket with local produce. A very warm welcome from the owners, who made sure we had everything we needed. Great location for Lewes, as well as many other local attractions. We would happily return.
The cottage was lovely, big enough for us and our three children. It was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was really well stocked, all the home comforts you need on a self catering holiday. It was a real home away from home, we had a brilliant time and hopefully will be back next year!
On arriving I was shocked, I knew the house would be beautiful but it was far beyond my expectations! We had fabulous weather so spent alot of time in the charming pool. The gardens are gorgeous with speaking hills for miles and the house interia is full of amazing art. The perfect house for a large group with lovely kitchen and lots of compfy nooks to relax in. Could not have enjoyed our stay more, would love to come back! X
The house was very good for 6 people, unfortunately the weather was bad so could not use the pool. It is very near the shops and centre of Petworth an excellent location for an area with masses to do and see. This was our second visit we like it a lot. Owners very helpful and welcoming.
We had a lovely week, the cottage was lovely, the kitchen well fitted and the welcome pack very well received. Hilary was very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday
This cottage was perfect. Very very comfortable and warm and very well equipped. Much more spacious than the photos suggest. The setting is beautiful and we were blessed with lovely autumnal weather, so could enjoy the surroundings to the full. We would come back over and over, just wish it were a little less expensive. That’s the SE for you.
This property is simply wonderful. Extremely spacious and very well presented and of high quality. The garden immediately around Little Barn is beautiful and very well kept and the view from the elevated terrace over the water meadows is breathtaking. Carol and Peter are great hosts, very friendly and knowledgeable without being intrusive. Loads to do in the surrounding area if you want an active holiday and a very comfortable cottage for relaxing in if you don't. Highly recommend Little Barn.
Yes this was our second stay this year at Croft Cottage. We were delighted with everything at this well equipped cottage
We loved staying at The Mint. Superbly equipped and lots of attention to detail. The location in the centre of the town is perfect for accessing shops, pubs, cafes, walks, trains, etc., but there is a small trade-off - it can be noisy late at night as people find their way home from the pubs - more so on Fri/Sat nights. Also the deliveries, refuse collectors and street cleaners come early (6.30am), the latter every day. Having said that, it is a small sacrifice for staying in a wonderful cottage in a lovely town.
We really enjoyed our few days at oak Grove. Lots of good walks through the woods towards Haslemere and over Black down without having to take the car out. House itself was clean, cosy and warm. Good enclosed garden for the dog too! Nice to be able to walk into the village for bits and bobs, and easy drive into either Haslemere or Midhurst for supermarket. Would recommend the Red lion in the village for eating out.
Overall this is lovely property, we loved the balcony looking out over the trees, feels almost like you are in the countryside. I thought it might be noisy being on a fairly main route of of hastings but we really didn't notice much noise, it was really very peaceful! The property is light and airy which was lovely in hot weather we had. It is generally clean and homely. The kitchen had everything we needed and nice to have some tea and coffee for when you first arrive. Great to be provided with some kitchen roll, foil, bin bags, washing up liquid etc as these are always a pain to hav...more
Quiet restful holiday break in very pleasant surroundings. Excellent accommodation. Warm welcome from Mrs Wiseman set the tone for the holiday.
A very nice cottage, with lovely bedrooms, a super bathroom and a great lounge/kitchen. We did not spend too much time in the cottage, but when we were there we found it warm and very comfortable. The log burner was great in the evening. The surrounding area was delightful and the travel time to Rye, in a car, was fine. It wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for in life.
Both my partner and I thought that the apartment was wonderful. We both enjoyed staying there. It is very well laid out.
Copyhold Barn is extremely spacious with a lovely comfortable lounge and well equipped kitchen. We were very pleased to have large bedded twin room with disabled shower for 2 elderly relatives. The kind owner put a bit of heating on for us even though not normally needed in September to keep our elderly folk comfortable. Well situated for exploring Chichester.
An absolutely stunning property in a fantastic location with such welcoming hosts. Would highly recommend.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and have booked again for June. Perfect place to stay, everything you could possibly need has been provided. Completely self contained. We use it as a base when we come to visit our 5 children who live in Sussex. Lesley and Peter are a lovely couple who always make us welcome. Ideal place for a couple to stay would definitely recommend it.
A delightful cottage in which to stay - in Autumn as it happened. As Keats might say in "a season of mists and mellow fruitfulness". The owner's garden is outstanding. And if it rained there was a most extensive library to enjoy.
We were delighted when we drove in, and even more so when we opened the door into the Barn. It was so welcoming and warm. Such a lovely location. Very quiet and relaxing, yet still close to everywhere we wanted to go. It was so nice to return to such a peaceful place after a day out. Don't worry if you forget anything because Kip has thought of everything, even down to a new toothbrush or a pair of reading glasses! Amazing place. We will definitely be going again.
Well equipped and comfortable cottage. We appreciated having a cycle store and an OS Explorer Map of the area to use. Local books were a bonus and we enjoyed having a selection of recent DVDs to watch. The Gribble Inn, which served delicious food, was easy to get to by bike, as was Chichester. The Lobster Pot at Felpham was a good recommendation in the cottage welcome pack and we enjoyed a very good lunch outside in the sunshine. There's plenty of places nearby that we didn't have time to enjoy, so hope to stay in the area again.
I would recommend this cottage to anyone. Our contact was extremely helpful without being intrusive. As everything was perfect there are no complaints. Thank you.
We spent two weeks at Selden Black. The studio was very well equipped with everything you might need. Owners were very lovely and helpful and on hand if you have any problems. We had a lovely time!
Very comfortable stay. Everything worked well. There was always plenty of hot water and good showers. The property was in a quiet residential area with woodland walks opposite and also a 10 minute walk into New Milton. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and helpful.
Mallards is charming and our hosts Paula and David delightful. The annex had everything you could possibly need including a sewing kit! The location was peaceful and secluded yet close enough to shops and attractions. Paula introduced herself and left us alone which we appreciated. She had placed eggs, bread, butter, tea, coffee and home made scones in the kitchen for us which was a godsend after our long journey from Australia! A most enjoyable and comfortable experience which we hope to repeat next year. Thank you Paula.
Relaxing cottage with huge garden. Ideal location for Glydnebourne! Warm welcome from the owner and a very FULL fridge!
Hayreed Barn is a small, very lovely stone cottage on a wonderfully located farm. Ideal for 2 - 4 guests. The area is beautiful, the farm is surrounded bei old trees and fields. The owners are super nice and friendly and help whenever you need them. Thanx a lot for the welcome breakfast - this was a very special and warm welcome. We will definitively come back, because we want to spend our next holdidays in Sussex.
Great location in centre of Rye. Close to all amenities but in a quiet side street location. Also good location for visiting Kent and East Sussex coasts. Several good walks from cottage including great circular walk to Winchelsea via coast and Camber castle. Lots of great places to eat in Rye. Ideal location for a short break. Cosy cottage with good facilities.
Very nice cottage in a lovely peaceful location with friendly owners. Lovely walks with a trip to The Harrow a must.
We had a fortnight there, and were very happy. A GLORIOUS, silent woodland setting! - you couldn't wish for anything more peaceful, green and beautiful. Hilary, a very thoughtful "landlady", and anxious to do anything to please.
This is a perfect peaceful location - there is beautiful countryside all around that you can just walk out into. It is also close enough to be able to walk into and enjoy the amenities in Arundel. The A27 nearby enables you to easily travel along the coast in both directions. John and Karen were delightful hosts.
A very modern and uniquely styled place to stay, there's a great view both front and rear of the well kept gardens. It is situated on private road so there's very little traffic going past, both the owners are very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home from the minute we arrived. A supermarket is less than 10 minutes drive away with a good pub/restaurant about 15 minutes walk along the private road, all in all we had a very enjoyable7 days stay.
Fantastic location for exploring the South Downs the stables had everything we could possibly need for our holiday . Have already recommended it on Facebook to other sighthound owners . Lovely dog friendly pubs as well so we shall be back .
Lovely location with scenic walks on your doorstep. A very quiet and peaceful setting within the grounds of the owners house. Friendly welcome by the owners. The accommodation is very comfortable and supplied with all that you need for your stay. This was our first visit to West Sussex and we were truly captured by it rural beauty and will be returning again, would be more that happy to come back to the Print Studio.
Very comfortable homely house, lovely garden and good location for us. We did arrive slightly early and met Alex the owner who made us most welcome.
Thomas House lived up to antique charm - and Rye is fabulous olde-worlde England. be aware that it is extremely popular, so throngs with tourists during peak season, and parking is both a nightmare and expensive. Thomas house was charming and very comfortable. However, there were a few things that would made our stay more comfortable - some basic customer service or inclusions that we would have made a good stay so much more pleasant. The list of inclusions did not provide information on what cooking facilities were available - there is no standard hotplate or cooker - just an auger wi...more
Lovely, well equipped cottage. Would definitely book again. Good location - easy to travel out to places
We had a wonderful week away at Apple Barn. Super location for Chichester and made even better by fantastic and friendly hosts.
We had a fantastic stay in this wonderful little cottage. There was everything that we needed and more and the attention to detail was great including the use of DVD’s, washing machine and tumble dryer if needed. We would highly recommend.
My husband and I had a lovely stay at Cowslip. The accommodation was superb, modern and very well equipped. We were greeted on arrival which was nice and given a tour of the place and guidance on how to use the equipment etc. Set in a quiet county village and fantastic location for walking and cycling and visiting the local historic town of Lewes and all it's charm. A couple of small things that would have made a difference to our stay (and added further to our experience)? Bath 'sheets' instead of standard 'bath' towels and half a pint of milk left in the fridge on arrival (tea and co...more
Lovely cosy cottage in a really nice village. Owner provided lots of information before arrival, and left some welcome treats for us and our dogs, which was very thoughtful. Pub over the road 'The Smugglers Inn' served great food, and the people there so friendly and helpful. Castle and tea room at the end of the lane, chip shop and paper shop close by. Also good dog walking on playing field and castle grounds.
The cottage was comfortable, well-equipped and clean and the host, Dora was very accommodating indeed. She was was friendly and helpful. The one slight improvement which we thought could be made would be to provide lightweight duvets for the summer months. We have already recommended Courtyard Cottage to family.
Very friendly host but still felt private. The cottage is small and cosy but had all we needed. Lots of places to explore within a short driving distance.
Admittedly only 2 of us (not 4) but this was a great find and was so well appointed. Lovely property.
We were between house moves and needed a solid base near our new home. Joanna and Jonathan were the perfect hosts from wine and nibbles on arrival to checking in from time to time to ensure everything was right for us.What a great place!
Glorious location and a very pretty cottage. Extremes comfy beds and helpful owners. Amazing location for wonderful pub food as well as great walks.
The studio was tucked away in a quiet, private little spot which somehow also managed to be close to the train station and high street - making it very convenient for both relaxing exploring. It was a lovely base from which to explore Rye and the surrounding areas. It was straight forward to book, the key pick up and drop off went smoothly and Sharon, the owner, was very welcoming.
The cottage was indeed almost perfect. The proximity to the wedding venue was ideal and the cottage itself was very lovely. It was very thoughtful to have provided some basics i.e. Milk, juice and a very nice cake. I have only one negative thing to say and I believe it is "fixable" and that is the shower in the ensuite bathroom is in need of a really good clean - it was quite disgusting! Overall it was a most enjoyable stay and I would certainly recommend it and not hesitate to stay there again.
Paines Cottage is a nice place to stay ,covenient to lots of coastal towns and not too far from london. As it was rented out for two adults and two children, a double bed for us , and two singles or bunk beds for the children would have been more suitable.
We had a lovely stay at Ivy Cottage, which was our base for days out with the children. The cottage was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. A good time was had by all!
Daisy cottage had everything we could need and more in a perfect location. Really comfortable and clean.
Modern barn conversion decorated in a contemporary style, finished to a high standard. The balcony would be amazing on a summer evening. The main focus of the property is the kitchen. The only slight issue we had was our dog "sniffing out" two bones from under the settee which had been left by a previous " doggy guest". The lane to the property is very potholed and rutted and needs care to negotiate.
Excellent stay in this nice cottage un Arundel. Very clean house. Close to the city center. Nice garden. We always found place in the street to park. We won't hesitate to come back.
This house is in an amazing position overlooking the English Channel, along a quiet unmade track at the edge of a peaceful village. The Hastings Country Park with wild ponies and cattle is a few hundred yards away, with a great walk to Hastings. The house is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and spacious, enough room for two families to happily spend a week or two. We loved the unusual extension and huge windows everywhere, especially the sea views upstairs. The kids loved the trampoline, the tyre swing and the upstairs lounge with games and jigsaws for rainy days. A problem with one of the t...more
Myself and 3 sons and a nanny :) stayed in the coat the for four nights. Very clean and tidy, great location, very good communication throughout stay Great open fireplace and large back garden, you just need to watch your head on the low ceilings. Would highly recommend Awesome coattge
Loved the cottage full of charm, warm and cosy. Would be good if a washing machine was available but other than that it is an excellent place to stay. The Gardener's Arm in the near by town has great food and very popular. Located on a quiet street in a beautiful country setting, I would love to stay there again.
Parkhurst Cottage provided an ideal location for us to visit the places of interest we wanted to see in West Sussex. The cottage was well equipped, homely and a good size, with comfortable beds. The welcome goodies were much appreciated and the housekeeper was available to deal with any questions promptly. Parking was nice and easy. Altogether it was a lovely quiet place to stay.
A very comfortable cottage, with warm efficient heating, in a very peaceful setting. The general standard was very high, with every kitchen appliance and utensil you need. The central heating was very efficient and the wood burner a nice extra. Our only two minor negatives were: a) the lounge sofas were very low and quite hard. b) the bathroom would benefit from a shower (or shower attachment) rather than a bath, although we realise a bath is good for young children. Overall a comfortable cottage in excellent condition.
The flat was very clean and comfortable. We made a few requests (early check in and a late check out) and the host was very accommodating and prompt response. It really felt as if the property was cared for. Would definitely recommend this property.
the house was well maintained and well planned. We all enjoyed our stay and it was very comfortable.I would make one comment and that is that the heating arrangements to cope with the evenings was not that good. Also there should be warning signs to say that extra care is needed when exiting the property by car.
First impressions, lovely spacious well appointed house. Every time we visit local beaches and local attractions,we always felt we were coming back home. Cannot fault the house or gardens and location, ideal for visiting all the seaside towns and sights. Having spent many years staying in the local area, with family members living in West Chiltington,I would highly recommend Echo House and would not hesitate to stay here again.
We stayed at Hunters Cottage for a long weekend. We loved the location and had great walks and pub visits. We went daily to Glyndebourne which is very close. We loved the cozy kitchen. Excellent for post opera suppers. Lovely sitting room with open fire. Wonderful friendly welcome - we were well looked after. We have already booked again!
We were impressed. It was quite expensive for us for 3 nights but a treat. We loved it. One thing to mention: the heated towel rail made some funny noises when it was on.
We had a lovely long weekend here with our two young children. Very comfortable, warm and homely house with everything you could need. The only suggestions we would make are that a shower woukd be nice, and a microwave. Other than that, it was perfect. Loved the decor, the log burner, the super kitchen, oh and the beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept in!
This is property is a good all-rounder. Room enough for everyone, great for walks and peace and quiet. Some little niggles, the shower waste pipe blocked appears not to have been cleaned for sometime and the black waste was returning back into the shower unable to use on the last day as the water would not disperse :-(, kitchen tap very loose. Owner was advised by text and apologies sent and stated she would arrange for the house keeper to resolve hopefully problem sorted! Please, please can a cupboard in the kitchen be left empty for visitors to put their food things in, common problem for...more
Ian was a friendly host. The cottage was clean, well-equipped and attractive, in a pleasant, quiet, country location complete with neighbouring geese and an apple orchard. The bed was comfortable, in a charming bedroom. If we travel that way again, we'd happily stay there again.
The cottage is beautifully decorated, comfortable and in a very good location. Lovely friendly pub within walking distance serving an excellent menu and excellent food. A car is essential as the village has no shops or petrol stations in the area. Large garden nicely kept. Cosy and warm once you have mastered the heating boiler. Large lovely bathroom. Quality bedding. Unfortunately the welcome/information folder supplied by Amberley House had no information about the heating system or any of the kitchen appliances although it said they were enclosed. Although the area is flooded with good br...more
Lovely little cottage very nicely fitted out, warm and welcoming. Would say though that it would be a bit of a squeeze for 4 people, especially sitting downstairs but perfect for a couple. Clean and comfortable, thoroughly enjoyed it.
The house is full of charm and feels like the residents have just gone out for a stroll because it's full of art, books and music. Kitchen is well-stocked for cooking and baking, and the barbeque set made a welcome change from the Aga. Beautiful location and lush garden allowed plenty of space to stretch out and relex without getting in each other's space. The second bathroom could benefit from some modernising but the seasonal spiders didn't seem to mind! Must have a car to overcome its relative remoteness. In short, a lovely location that feels like a home, not an anonymous modern box.
Our 3rd stay at Tackleway Cottage, we love the location and the local amenities. The house is really well kitted out and suits 4 of us (children aged 5 & 7) perfectly. There is plenty of space for us all and it have everything we need. We hope to return again! The spiral stairs may make it difficult for some but they do at least free up floor space.
Really enjoyed our stay. Our host Emma was very friendly & welcoming, our dogs also hit it off. Lovely little cottage had everything we needed in a peaceful location. Pub and shop were not in walking distance but it didn't matter. Good location to explore West Sussex. Would definitely stay again & recommend. Snacks & dog biscuits ere a nice touch as was tea & coffee supplied.
Beautifully presented and comfortable converted barn, warm and cosy. We have rented many holiday properties over the years but have never before had to provide our own towels. At this price we would expect there to be wi fi available, a dishwasher, a decent sized TV, heated towel rail and a better shower. The lack of wi fi was particularly irksome. Having said that, the beds were comfortable, we appreciated being able to take our dog, and the property was spotlessly clean and the location ideal.
Quaint place to stay very cosy with lovely outlook lovely present for a special birthday present they loved it.
Great location friendly atmosphere very welcoming touches such as milk tea and biscuits...and high standard of facilities...would love to return soon and stay for longer
Just enjoyed a long weekend at Celebration Cottage with friends. The house is fantastic! Lovely large, clean, bright, modern rooms. Huge kitchen and utility with lots of fridge and cupboard space and great big table everyone can sit round. Two sitting rooms with TVs. All bedrooms were really spacious and warm with lovely views. The set up was perfect for us as all rooms are single or twin. We were 7 adults but it didn't feel crowded at all. Even managed to get 4 cars on the drive!! Sadly, too cold to enjoy the beautiful outside space but it would be brilliant in the summer with its outside ...more
We loved our stay in gran's cottage - we found it very comfortable and full of character combined with all the mod con's we now expect to find in a holiday cottage. The location is ideal for walking the south downs and visiting the local area. Wish we had booked two weeks as we found a week was not long enough. We were sad to be leaving such a delightful cottage. Janette & john
We had a very good stay at Garden Cottage. We loved the cottage , cooking on the Aga and the beautifull village ! Thank you very much.
Swallowfield is a lovely cottage with all mod cons, the kitchen was very well equipped, we especially liked the separate fridge and freezer, the sitting room was very comfortable so were the beds, the cottage has everything you need. Within walking distance of shops and nice pub serving good food. Although near a road the cottage was quiet. It has a small garden sufficient to sit out and hang out washing. We have booked again for next year. The only downside is the road as the cottage exit is on a bend and it's difficult to see traffic coming from the right. If there was a mirror on the road t...more
Enjoyed our long weekend at Fisher Dairy, it's in a great rural location with lovely walks from the doorstep but also close to town. We had a dog with us and the enclosed garden was perfect. Beds were fantastic...extremely comfortable, though better bedside/reading lighting would have been nice. Kitchen was fairly well equipped but missing some basics like a baking tray which we needed to heat up the ready meals we had brought with us! Could do with a more comfortable sofa too! So, a few little niggles, but overall a nice, well maintained property and a very enjoyable stay overall.
Great location. Historical building provoked interesting discussion. Warm and extremely comfortable beds. Host very obliging.
Excellent property, everything works, comfortable and quirky. It being winter we could not really take advantage of the outside space. Would hope to return in warmer weather to take enjoy long leisurely bbq's. Would recommend for family gatherings.
A lovely comfortable bungalow. Very warm and cosy, a real home from home with incredible views. The owner is so welcoming and kind. In fact a perfect holiday.
Perfect location near the station and several supermarkets. Lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable. Friendly owners.
A lovely little cottage ideal for two. The stairs need care especially going down. Otherwise can highly recommend for a stay in Arundel.
We enjoyed the cosy house on the Weir, the kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were comfortable. The parking was a little tricky as you need to reverse out of a tight slot in front of the house.
We were very pleased with Little Timbers, which was everything we expected and more. We loved the unusual 'older' parts of the house with modernisation where it's needed. The kitchen, bathroom and furnishings are all clean and fresh. Great to have Wifi and the new TV was an added bonus. Lovely to have plenty of space and storage in a holiday house. The house, gardens, estate and beach all make this a unique holiday home.
We had a lovely week at the Old Tractor Shed. Toni and David were excellent hosts and provide a lovely welcome pack. The property is spacious and well equipped. A perfect home from home in a lovely location.
The house is charming and with plenty of space both on the ground floor with a good separation between the kitchen, the dining room and the living room, as on the first floor where the bedroom and bathroom are. Everything prepared for you to feel better than at home. In the house, there are several books in case you forgot to take a reading, and in the room, you have all kinds of guides for the area. Near the house, there are several routes for those who enjoy walking and want to forget the car for a few days. Also, the owner will give you all kinds of extra information you may need about t...more
My second time in Whippingham. I have friends and relatives on IOW and the Creek is a great base from which to see them all and to have peaceful solitude when needed. It is well placed for ferry access, Newport shops , Osborne etc.
We enjoyed our holidays in the old and very nice little house in the heart of Hastings Old Town just at the time of Old Town Carnival Week (we didn't know before) with a lot of opportunities to learn about Hastings history. There was a short walk to the rail-station, so we went for sightseeing also to Brighton, The Seven Sisters near Eastbourne, Rye, Canterbury. Returning home in the evening we relaxed at Old Town Bolthole. We didn't miss a car at all. Lovely place!
We had a wonderful stay. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was excellent too. A home from home and a thoroughly enjoyable stay in the beautiful countryside.
It's a lovely place to stay if you want peace and quiet but the road was very narrow for out big car and too far away from a village .would have loved to walk to a local put with out driving ,It's great if you want to get away from it all .
Perfect location. Nearby the park and its further surroundings to walk the dog (for hours, including nice pubs for lunch). Inside the older village (which brings you back two centuries). Very close to the best an most hospitable pub (the dog definitely agrees). The cottage is clean, complete, warm and offers all the facilities you can wish for with four adults and two dogs. Didn't miss anything, although i make it a habit to bring my own cooking knives, tea glasses and filter coffee (which was not necessary). There is a sufficient amount of cleaning tools (including consumables). Towels, be...more
We had a very enjoyable holiday in this well equipped house. It had everything we needed. And its proximity to the beach meant even our young children could walk there.
Fabulous location with fantastic view, the house is comfortable, spacious and clean. We will definitely come back.
When we arrived it was just getting dark. The house was warm and welcoming with a delightful display of fresh lilies. An above average welcome pack was provided. The cottage was quirky with difficult stairs which could have posed a problem should we have been slightly infirm. To our surprise the London to Brighton vintage car rally happened on the Sunday and passed right outside our front door. I was a real treat. Only problem was that the dish washer kept on blowing the fuses. I phoned the owner after the week end, who was very courteous, and we agreed that the repair would be made after we ...more
In the middle of the town for a couple it was a good stay Visiting Goodwood and also Portsmouth Arondel as a base is a fine place
A lovely cottage in a lovely location - for easy access to Rye and the surrounds. Well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable lounge and bedrooms. We would deffo stay there again so no better recommendation than that.
I absolutely loved staying at Beach Reach. Not only was it an ideal house to spend my 70th birthday with my family but I personally felt there was a spiritual calmness about the place and I honestly didn't want to leave.. I could have stayed forever.
We had a pleasant stay at France Cottage. Sara welcomed us and was around if we needed anything. It was November so the weather wasn’t good enough to sit outside in Sara’s pretty cottage garden and l think the cottage would be really lovely for a spring or summer break. We had all we needed to make our stay a good one. Perfect if you want to take your doggies.
Inside the cottage is cosy and finished to a high standard. Both bathrooms have fantastic powerful showers! I only gave comfort good not excellent as inside there was only room to seat 5 people to watch a film (a 3 seater sofa and two chairs) but it can sleep 6. Outside there was a nice patio area and large table with chairs but the property is not quite finished and it was a shame the grass area is like a ploughed field, full of ruts and the driveway isnt fully finished ( it looks like another property is being built 100yrds or so away but no building was done while we were they so it was sti...more
Very quaint, but floorboards had some nail hazards, and hole in floor by fridge. Welcome pack brilliant.
Overall our stay was good. The cottage is spacious with an excellent garden and in a good location. The kitchen is nice and has a good open plan feel. However, there were a few issues and much room for improvement. The entire cottage requires a deep clean - there were a lot of cobwebs and a lot of short pet hairs on furnishings. The beds in the two downstairs bedrooms were uncomfortable and the beds in the twin room are really just foldout camp beds. The games room is great but the sofas are in terrible condition. Okay value for money - it's a good size and location but would expect it to be...more
Very comfortable stay in Fantasy Cottage. Well located for everything Steyning has to offer. Owner very helpful with a minor key problem! Would definitely stay here again.
A memorable holiday for all of the right reasons! What could be better than staying on a vineyard nestling a steam railway! The accommodation was excellent, clean and very comfortable. It seemed fully, and well, equipped however the fridge struggled to keep its contents cool. The only person we met on the farm was Don who seemed to be Mr Fixit. He was very welcoming, friendly and helpful! Fortunately we chose the hottest week of the year to visit Sussex and this meant evenings were spent on the patio with BBQ food followed by a short stroll to the lakes to watch the leaping fish and other wild...more
We could not have chosen anything better for our week exploring West Sussex. The centre of superb walking country especially for the Sussex Hants Border Walk and such easy access to the train network was a real bonus. The cottage was ideal for 2 couples, the welcome pack much appreciated and everything was spotless, beds comfortable and generally a well equipped kitchen. We particularly appreciated spacious bedrooms and shower rooms. Lots of facilities on the doorstep yet quiet and relaxing.
Very comfortable and relaxing stay, very friendly and helpful owners. Really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend to friends.
Had a lovely weekend stay at this beautiful cottage close to the town. Very well equipped and newly renovated
The cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The bedrooms are spacious, the upstairs bedroom being particularly attractive. Negatives? The upstairs shower was occasionally hit and miss, sometimes running hot then cold. We were not so keen on the downstairs toilet being entered from the lounge and the dining room door has to be closed in order to open the fridge. The courtyard is good for al fresco dining but would not be suitable for anyone wanting to stretch out for sunbathing. These are all small points however, and did not detract from a very nice stay.
Nice character cottage. Good parking. Nice kitchen. Comfortable beds. Step hazard at foot of stairs needs better highlighting. Hot water far too hot. Whoever cleans the property really should move the lounge furniture when hoovering ... there was rubbish and grit under the settee. Low beams in places were difficult for our 6-foot member of party.
The cottage is situated right next door to a children's adventure farm on a quiet lane, so in terms of location, it was just what we were seeking. The cottage had all mod cons and was aesthetically pleasing. However, we were dissatisfied with the comfort of the beds and also the place clearly had not been thoroughly cleaned in a while, as there were pet hairs and clumps of dust around the place and bits of rubbish under the beds. The property also would benefit from a decorative touch up. That said, the owners were very welcoming and helpful. We would recommend to others if the above...more
A lovely cottage and a great location for a quiet week. Super woodland walks on the doorstep. A very relaxing stay.
The Well House takes a bit of finding, but when we did all our hopes and expectations were realised. If you've chosen to stay here you presumably want peace, quiet, remote and countryside. It's all here in abundance. Then we found the key went in and fell in love with it. There is a Lovely cozy lounge area, dining area looking out over the field, nicely fitted kitchen and bathroom and the bed in the ceiling, which, was so comfortable. Plus some lovely quirky pieces and ornaments dotted around. We had a wonderful relaxing week in The Well House.
Our stay was really lovely. It was very peaceful, and the perfect place to recharge the batteries. The scenery and walks were beyond beautiful, it brought so much contentment and happiness.
First impressions were not great because we arrived in the dark. As Rosings is in a hamlet in the middle of nowhere, we struggled to find the house and then had to feel our way to the front door, down the garden path, unable to see any obstacles or steps. It would have been nice if the outside light had been left on for us. We left it on during our stay which improved our returns in the dark. The house is probably lovely in the summer but in rainy autumn it feels cold and smells a bit damp and the sitting room smells as if someone has smoked in there. The rooms are all a good size, especia...more
Lovely, cosy house with stunning views. Friendly and helpful owner. Kitchen large and well equipped, lounge large and comfortable. Bedrooms comfortable, bathroom adequate but needs some tlc. Newly installed heating in lounge and kitchen is very good. Had a lovely few days stay, lucky with the weather and the dogs loved the walks and swims. Would definitely stay there again.
This is a nice property let down by poor maintenance. When we arrived one of the bedrooms was not made up and there was a mattress on the floor making it look very unsightly. The toilet flush in the downstairs bedroom was not working properly and the shower in this room was constantly dripping. The kitchen area needs some attention with a loose and delaminated door and some of the chairs in the lounge need cleaning. The owners were very nice and apologetic but we felt these problems should have been addressed prior to our arrival. I think this property could be top class but the owners need to...more
Modern house well equipped. Shame about the limited parking. In general house style suits only 2 adults and kids due to only one shower and small kitchen/dining area. Office/lounge extension was a plus.
Very Nice and cozy little cottage. We had lovely Weather so used the patio a lot. The only drawback was the noise from a busy Road close by.
With someone living below, we found it almost impossible to walk across the hard wood floor quietly. A carpet or large rug in the bedroom would have been very helpful. In the kitchen some basic items we have normally found in other properties were not available. A washing up bowl, hand-wash, small sharp knife for preparing dishes (the very large sharp kitchen knives were too clumsy) and a microwave. We were not sure whether the one towel in the kitchen was intended for drying dishes or drying hands..
The property was very clean and comfortable and in a good location. Parking was an issue though. The house is situated on a side road on a hill. Some of the neighbours put traffic cones outside their properties to stop others parking. Luckily, I have a small car and managed to squeeze into a space in the first day. There is "four hour" free parking opposite the property on the main road but it was impossible to find spaces. There is a car park at the bottom of the hill which charges £9.50 per day. I had my elderly mother with me and being able to park close to the property was importan...more
