The Old Orchard was a home from home and a great base from which to walk the South Downs and explore Arundel and the south coast. We appreciated the generosity of the furnishing, the thoughtfulness of the facilities provided, and the clear information. It was lovely to be able to set off on a day's walk from the front door.
This was a perfect house for us as it had a ground floor bedroom with ensuite walk in shower. The upstairs bedrooms are very well appointed, very comfortable beds and top quality bed linen. Lovely new decking area overlooking an orchard. there is everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay in Rye. Very easy walking into the town and best of all parking for up to 3 cars, so no worries about car parking. Overall a very attractive house and we had a wonderful break in Rye.
We stayed at the Devonshire app.August 2016 .the apartment was great it was like home from home every detail was thought of the kitchen was really well equipped , the apartment was spotlessly clean .the bed was comfortable .everything was 5 star plus. I would highly recommend this apartment.
We spent a lovely week here, even the weather was kind to us. We went to many National Trust properties and gardens before they closed for the winter. The scenery is beautiful and we did a couple of very nice walks. The cottage is really warm and cosy and has everything you need. Judy was there if you wanted her but not at all intrusive, wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hope to do a re-visit ourselves!
We picked Dairy Cottage in Burley for location and advertised info .on website. We found the cottage to be very clean and well looked after. The owners were very welcoming and happy to give any help we needed about the area.
Jubilee House was a lovely property to stay in for our visit to Chichester. We were a party of five adults and one toddler staying at this property for the first time, for five nights in April. The owners of Jubilee House have put a lot of thought into creating a very beautiful and comfortable holiday home, with everything you may possibly need. We had a really enjoyable stay and would be very happy to stay again.
The cottage we stayed in was just as it was advertised, it was very well equiped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts were very attentive with just the right level of contact while we were staying there, the location is very good, just a few minuets from the shops and beaches, The cream tea on arrival is a very nice touch. If we travel in that area again we would definitely stay there again.
We had a fantastic break. Lovely walks for the dogs. We are booking again for the summer. Enough said !!
We had a fantastic stay at Karen and John's cottage. They were very friendly and welcoming and the overall standard of accommodation was excellent. We were travelling as a family and our kids loved the little garden that they have set up, complete with wendyhouse and swing, and loved meeting the dogs and chickens. Location was perfect for us being close to Arundel as well as handy for the beach at West Wittering and all the other attractions of the South Downs. There was also an excellent pub just up the road.
The property was perfect! The owners wanted you to feel at home and we certainly did. The property was immaculate and everything was there that you needed, so much so we wished we could buy it! It was also in a fantastic location, walking distance from several pubs and cafes, only a 20 minute drive to the centre of Chichester and we spent a fantastic day at Arundel Castle and Gardens which we would highly recommend a visit to. We would definitely recommend this property and the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the hosts went above and beyond in making sure that we were comfortable. The location was perfect for us and we hope to stay there again in the future.
Delightful walks, comfortable house, beautiful garden, kind and welcoming hosts. Woods, birds, flowers, views....
Super cottage, loads of character and very comfortable and spacious. Everything was thought of with all you need. Very quiet, peaceful location. Cannot recommend it highly enough. hope to stay again sometime.
The property is of a high quality in terms of the décor, facilities and equipment. The owners are very welcoming and provide provisions for your first few days which is particularly useful. The location is perfect as it is tranquil and extremely peaceful which allows for rest and relaxation. The location is ideal to explore the South Downs and the many market towns, gardens, villages and abundance of local hostelries, restaurants and farm shops.
Would recommend the cottage and the owners, who were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. In fact we have already recommended them to friends.
This year's holiday was one that I will remember for years to come as it was superb in every way you could imagine. The house had everything that one needs (even a fan) . The weather was also on our side as we had lovely weather for the 2 weeks. The owner were marvelous making our stay really pleasant.
The apartment was delightful and had everything I needed for a short break. It was close to all amenities and within walking distance of different pubs and eating venues. Sharon was friendly and welcoming and I would definitely stay here again. Perfect spot for a romantic weekend away.
Angel cottage really was a piece of heaven for the time we were there. Upon arriving at the cottage we discovered a very generous grocery pack! The cottage was the perfect size for our family of four and incredibly quiet. Location couldn't be more ideal, bang opposite a Coop and within 5 min walking distance of Arundel Castle and town.
Stayed here with my wife for one week in March 2017. We have stayed in many holiday cottages previously and this was easily one of the best. It was clean and spacious, with lots of room for our walking kit, and a big enough extending table to accommodate our board games (these two things are our holiday cottage checklist essentials!) It really felt that the owners have very carefully considered the experience of being a guest here. We found everything we needed in the kitchen to self-cater all week, and there were lots of little luxuries we haven't seen in a holiday cottage before like a ...more
calm , clean , clear , cosy and so smart !!! near the town centre we love it and hope to come back again
Bay Tree Cottage was exactly what I wanted while I sorted out personal details prior to emigrating. Close to local primary routes for car journeys, and near a good train service for trips up to London. Peaceful, quiet and comfortable when I wanted to stay in and sort out paperwork etc. Everything clean and well presented, making for a relaxing stay, with lots of items included to make life easy. Shona is very kind and considerate, and is an excellent host. There whenever needed, but quietly in the background at other times. I am due to come back to UK late summer 2018, and will book Bay Tree ...more
Excellent accommodation. Very well equiped. Comfortable bed and excellent shower. Close to 2 good local pubs. Excellent location for walking the South Downs. Very friendly and helpful owners although not at all intrusive. Were concerned parking might be an issue but always managed to find a spot close to apartment. Could hear a little bit of traffic noise if windows open but not a major problem for sleeping as bedroom is at the back of the property.
Ideal quiet get away, great location lovely walks nothing too much trouble for the owners. Made to feel both welcome and valued. I hope to return.
Pretty, quiet, clean cottage in great location. Loved views and tranquility. In excellent condition. Would benefit from thick curtains in bedroom to block light. Have already recommended to family and friends.
We were thrilled with the warm welcome we received from Paula and Chrissy when we arrived - a homemade Easter cake and prosecco as well as much appreciated basics like bread, milk and teabags! The house itself is fantastic - so spacious and well presented as well as being spotlessly clean. The beds are very comfortable and the house is so cosy and warm. Location wise it is brilliant with a lovely little Village just down the road, a park for the children and a delicious restaurant - all within walking distance. We certainly hope to return again in the future! Xx
Tail End cottage is a wonderful place in a great location. We loved it. Hope very much to return again.
We had a lovely stay at The Old Village Shop, the cottage is pretty and immaculate with everything that you could need during your stay. The welcome tray was a nice touch. The location and the weather were fantastic, we visited Bealieau during our stay and after a day exploring enjoyed sitting on the decking enjoying the weather and peace. It was lovely seeing the ponies, donkeys and cows around the New Forest whilst we were out and about. If you want no fuss simple pub food we would recommend the Turfcutters which is only 3 miles away, the service there was also very friendly and accomm...more
A family party of 8 of us stayed for a week including 3 small children and 1 grandparent and both the house and location worked perfectly. It is a beautiful house with plenty of space (kids playroom & grown up sitting room) for everyone to do their own thing. The location on the river with views up to Arundel Castle & Cathedral is fantastic and 3 of the double bedrooms overlook the river. The kitchen is very well equipped and there are children's toys available too, plus plastic crockery. We would highly recommend the house and location, there is so much to do locally and being able to walk ...more
Spring Harbour provided a great break for the family in early April. The cottage was in impeccable condition and had every convenience you could need for a short (or long) break. The cottage is extremely private and has the benefit of an enormous garden with lovely views across the country. The host was extremely helpful and contactable for the duration of our stay. The cottage provides a great base for exploring the various attractions in the area and the Hurstwood pub is a short walk down the road (recommended but book in advance). The kids want to know when we are going back!
Crown Cottage is on our list to return to. It is ideally located for all Rye has to offer; it is well appointed and comfortable, and to a good standard. Although parking is difficult in Rye, at this time of the year, it was pretty manageable and we had no problems. .
The Old Pump House was perhaps the best self-catering cottage at which we have stayed so far. It is very well equipped and very well situated for seeing some outstanding places of historical interest and very well placed for excellent walking. Some good local pubs (we were especially taken by the Cat in West Hoathly and the Gardeners' Arms near Wakehurst Place - but also two pretty good establishments in Turner's Hill itself). Karen and Cliff were excellent hosts and always ready to help. Good shopping facilities in nearby East Grinstead. Lovely place - do go there, if you can..
We had a lovely time staying in Ivy Cottage - perfect for what we needed (family of 5), beautifully decorated and generously equipped, at various times the boys enjoyed the 'tv room' to themselves and we had a great relaxing time in peace in the 'other' sitting room! The cottage was also excellently situated for our day trip to London (3 mins walk to Pulborough train station! ) and we had a short drive to Billingshurst the next day, to hire bikes and have a cycle down the pretty canal paths. Susan made us feel very welcome and we wouldn't hesitate to come back to Ivy Cottage if in the area a...more
We spent a lovely Christmas in The Fisher Dairy, the owners had even provided a real Christmas tree. We felt very much at home. The owners live next door and are very friendly, helpful and approachable, The cottage is finished to a very high standard in a lovely location. It has everything you need for a great holiday. The garden is enclosed, which is great as dogs are allowed too. Would highly recommend.
Can't fault it. Chose Poets for it location and was very happy with it. Ideal for walks in the country, literally straight out of the building into Hangers (wooded hills). Portsmouth 25 mins away with lots of attractions.
Wonderful cottage with breakfast room to enjoy morning coffee watching all the birds and cozy living room with fireplace to enjoy. Evenings. Aga was a new experience, which was nice and toasty, plus fun to cook with. Owners were very helpful, welcome package with milk, coffee, tea, and logs for the fire. Stairs are quirky, but only takes one trip up and to learn the best way to navigate. Bathroom and kitchen are top notch.
The lovely cottage is very well appointed with dishwasher/washing machine and a fully resourced kitchen are. For those of you who enjoy a country setting with close by farmyards and good country walks. Plenty of local attractions such as Battle Abbey, Fire hills and easy access to the close by main towns of Hastings, Battle & Ashford. On arrival 'supplies' had kindly been supplied and the owners made us feel very welcome and approachable. You'll enjoy the under floor heating and wood burner in the lounge was wonderful for a cooler night. There is a private patio area with outside furnit...more
Very friendly, clean and ideal for 2 people on a short getaway. Thanks Val for a great stay. We had a lovely time.
We were greeted by very helpful owners who were very friendly and accommodating. Had a very relaxing time at an immaculately clean cottage, having everything we needed for a short break. A short walk into the old town, but is a hill on the way back. The cottage was very comfortable to stay in and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Third time/year we've stayed at Croft Cottage, which is unusual in itself for us. Generally we find that quality and standards slip over a couple of years and we don't revisit. Not here! The necessary maintenance has obviously been done, bits that have worn out have been replaced, and it remains a very clean, warm and cozy little terraced property only 50 yards from the shops/restaurants etc (but quiet at night). We live detached, so for us there are compromises re noise from the street and next door, but nothing that spoiled our stay. Well done to the owner/cleaner, and to paraphrase Arnie - ...more
We recently had a lovely stay in Rosemead Cottage near Handcross. Rick and Marilyn Cuss were very welcoming hosts when we arrived, and we were quite charmed by the cottage, where everything was set for our comforts. It's an idyllic country setting, and even though it was January, the gardens were pretty. It's a great location for getting to many attractions and sites in the area, and quite close to our daughters. We look forward to a return trip in the near future as our schedule permits! Thanks again, Phil and Mary Ramm
Lambles is a very comfortable and well equipped place to stay. For an accommodation for two people it is very spacious. It is in a good location for exploring the local area and maps and walks were available to use. Directions to get to the property and other places of interest were good and easy to follow.
High standard cottage in a lovely setting. Perfect for a relaxing stay.
No problems, a great time was had by all! PS a bin in the bathroom would be helpful Many thanks for a lovely stay
Fabulous place to stay and perfectly located. The house is a home and that is what you need after a day of exploring. It is filled with all the possible home from home comforts plus some extras. Great guides as to the operations of the house plus where to go exploring in the surrounding area and further afield are provided. Highly Recommended for a few days away near the sea and countryside.
We stayed as a family of 3 at Ockman Cottage for 5 nights over Christmas. It is in an idyllic location in the centre of Rye, but so quiet. Perfect for us, spotlessly clean and cosy. Even cooked Christmas dinner in the compact, but well equipped kitchen. The owner was extremely helpful, contacting us prior to our stay. Would definitely return.
Lovely modern cottage, very high standard throughout with great attention to detail. Spent Christmas there with family, walked lots along coast to witterings. Wish we could have stayed longer. Restful few days away from home exploring the peninsula. Highly recommended.
We had a fantastic stay at Oak Grove over Easter. This is a very thoughtfully equipped property, it was spotlessly clean and the layout was perfect for two adults and two children and a dog. We used the office as a third bedroom and made use of the enclosed garden and games room. There were two smart TVs and wifi, the beds were very comfy and the bathrooms had power showers. The location was perfect for exploring Hampshire and West Sussex. Fernhurst village has everything you need on your doorstep - a great pub the Red Lion, a super Indian take away the Mumbai, a post office, newsagent, fruit ...more
We had a lovely week, the cottage was lovely, the kitchen well fitted and the welcome pack very well received. Hilary was very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday
The cottage was lovely, big enough for us and our three children. It was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was really well stocked, all the home comforts you need on a self catering holiday. It was a real home away from home, we had a brilliant time and hopefully will be back next year!
The perfect location in ancient woodland being just idyllic for walks with you dog, especially when you can visit the most unaltered pub in millennia. The Harrow with excellent food and ale's . Made even more special by the friendly owners.
We were the first guests to stay at the cottage. On our arrival we received a warm welcome from Lucia and Andrew. There was a bottle of wine, sweets, bottled water and some food basics for our arrival which was a nice touch. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and Lucia is on hand if there is anything that you need but your privacy is respected. Lucia was extremely helpful giving us information on the local area and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is very dog friendly with a small enclosed area outside but you also have full access to the beautiful grounds and ...more
This is a beautifully kept cottage in one of the loveliest parts of Sussex. Footpaths lead out over the downs and the vineyards, and you can come back to an evening in the garden. Wonderfully tranquil, but with all the warmth and welcome of excellent hosts at the farmhouse next door.
Never having visited the South Downs, my husband and I decided to spend a few days exploring. We spotted the Little Barn advertised by Amberley Cottages in RSPB magazine and booked it. It was an excellent choice. It is in a fantastic position in the lovely village of Amberley and overlooking the Amberley wild brooks. The accommodation was perfect, a home from home. The owners were friendly and welcoming. There were lots of places easy accessible by walking. A lovely relaxing and peaceful few days. We would definitely return.
Very modern and spacious cottage with a warm welcome in an wondervul environment and only a few minutes to the coast.
We would highly recommend Brooke's Cottage. It had everything you would need and more! We were really impressed! Would definitely stay there again and wished we had booked longer.
Lovely old cottage with lots of character in the centre of Rye. More than enough room for our 2 families to stay over Easter. Couple of bumps on the low ceiling beams but we soon learned to duck! Very welcoming with a bowlful of satsumas, a packet of chocolate eggs and a bottle of milk in the fridge for our arrival. The small paved garden was perfect for an Easter egg hunt. Altogether a great holiday home and can't wait to come back again.
Super Ferienhaus, Sehr sauber und gepflegt. Sehr nette Vermieter. Tolle Einrichtung. Nur die nahe Strasse stört vielleicht, wenn man auf der Terrasse sitzen möchte.
We booked this cottage as it looked fab, had the space we needed and was in the perfect location to visit family. It was even nicer than expected. Everything we could need was provided for our stay, The beds are super comfortable and the bed linen beautiful. Lots of big soft fluffy towels and hot powerful showers. A very well equipped kitchen and all very good quality. We felt at home and relaxed, it was a chilly November week, and we were happy, cosy and warm. The courtyard setting is private and calm, and the walks around the farm have stunning views of the Sussex countryside. The owners ...more

Great little cottage Full amenities Great owners happy to help and at the same time allow for privacy. Great location for the Arun valley and Chichester.
Absolutely superb cottage fabulous layout the owners seem to have to a great deal of thought and effort to make your stay an excellent one. I have stayed in lots of cottages and this is up there with the best. Lovely area very convenient to local amenities.
Exremely good, warm welcome, very well equipped, very relaxing. What more would you ask for? exxtra characters follow xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Quiet restful holiday break in very pleasant surroundings. Excellent accommodation. Warm welcome from Mrs Wiseman set the tone for the holiday.
Would recommend to others and certainly book again A1. Would definitely recommend a car. Thanks you for a great stay.
Wow! What a beautiful little cottage. Spotlessly clean and very well-equipped with everything you could need from washing-up liquid to salt and pepper. The cooking facilities were excellent and the bed was comfortable. The second sitting-room/study was very useful. Ann and Lawrence the owners who lived adjacent to the cottage were helpful and friendly without being over-intrusive during our stay. The cottage is in a beautiful peaceful location and has direct access onto a bridlepath leading to many glorious walks and also the Downs Link, making it an excellent base for walkers and cy...more
Stayed for three nights and the cottage had all we needed. Very comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. Each bedroom had its own en suite which was nice not to get in each other's way in the morning. Parking was easy - you really do need a car here as it is a bit remote.
What a great place to stay with friends or family. It's clean, well equipped, and that little farm shop next to it gives it that extra touch of feel goodness. Accessing to the property (road, or shall I say path) could be better but it is located behind a farm so I guess it is expected to be so. I'd stay again without a doubt.
Very comfortable, clean and well looked after. Everything we needed was available. The hosts were very helpful and all in all a very worthwhile place to stay
We stayed at this cottage with our 3 month old and as new parents, we were a bit hesitant to stay in a cottage instead of a hotel. We never regretted our decision. The cottage is very close to all attractions, shops and has ample parking. Although so close to the main house, it offered good privacy and comfort. Mrs. R was very welcoming and supported all our needs in the best way possible. Will definitely come back to stay again :-)
Ideal for exploring the coast and country, due to its central position. The cottage has every comfort for your stay, including a very comfortable bed. Highly recommended.
Very relaxing stay.Lovely environment.Just perfick for two Adults.Great private parking very secure.
Surrounded by countryside but not far from the sea. Smugglers Keep, an excellent spot to chill out and unwind. There was nothing we needed that wasn't supplied and the weather that was laid on for us could not have been better.
Having only booked this cottage for a weekend, I wish it had been longer! Set in beautiful countryside the cottage was warm, welcoming and fully equipped for all needs. The owners had also thoughtfully provided excellent quality foods (sausages, bacon, eggs, milk, bread etc., even a bottle of wine!) to save us having to shop that evening and the following morning. Situated in a gorgeous country garden with plenty of wildlife and footpaths to take you over fields for walks. I cant praise this accommodation enough and hope to return.
A stunning characterful little cottage in the heart of Arundel, ideally located next to a great pub and opposite the Coop, perfect for our late night chocolate cravings and stocking up on more liquid refreshments. Spent many hours snuggling in front of the cosy fire, cooking in the well equipped kitchen and watching movies. Cloud nine comfy beds greeted us when we eventually needed our beauty sleep. Would highly recommend a staying here; we certainly can't wait for a return visit.
We had an absolutely gorgeous weekend at the Bothy Cottage. There was plenty of space for all of us and the garden was ideal for the kids who were aged between 22 months and 10 years old. It was brilliant to be able to roam in the hotel grounds which are stunning with lots of variety - a pond, some woodland, a huge lawn with slopes to run up and down, a tree swing and some rough grass. The men loved the pub, the ladies loved the hotel bar. The bedrooms were really lovely, particularly the spacious king size ones which the adults had and the hotel standard linens were a treat. The cottage was f...more
A very comfortable, and well appointed holiday cottage, located near the lovey South Downs and within striking distance of Brighton and other Sussex jewels such as Lewis and Rye. A thoughtful welcome pack was provided on arrival and some festive decoration displayed as our stay was between Christmas and the New Year. No complaints at all.
Clare Cottage is sweet and well-decorated, with many nice features and a well-stocked kitchen (although we did not find any oven gloves or kitchen scales). It is very well located, in a beautiful area with excellent walking, and within easy reach of Hastings and Rye. The local pub, the Red Lion, which is a few steps away, is fantastic and very friendly, a real gem. However, its main drawback is that it is right on a very busy road, the A21, so there is constant traffic noise and the headlights of cars flashing by through the night. Also, the cottage has very low ceilings, with low lintels ...more
We had a wonderful time at the Pool House. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and the house met all our expectations. The house is comfortable, well-equipped and ideally located on the edge of Petworth, so it is ideally placed for walking into the town or for visiting Petworth Park.
We stayed here for a mid week break and what a lovely place it is. The cottage has everything you need and is very cosy. There are some lovely walks along the river. You are not far form Brighton, Devils Dyke and some pretty villages that have tea rooms with amazing scones and cakes. The owners are very friendly and their hospitality is fantastic. I would recommend River Cottage to anyone who is looking for a nice peaceful break.
Four family members came to Sussex for a funeral. We shared the accommodation which was more pleasant than staying in an hotel. The Cottage is lovely. Very authentic, roomy, nicely furnished. We used the Aga and found it did all we needed. The village is very pretty. It must be super in spring or summer and the well stocked garden must be a joy then. The villagers we met were friendly.
It was a great place to stay the circular area in the kitchen is a great communal area. We are not great fans of Agas but we managed ok. The garden is fabulous.
We very much enjoyed our week at the cottage which has a peaceful rural setting down a country lane. The owners were very welcoming as were their two lovely dogs! Although next to the main house, we had privacy in a thoughtfully maintained walled garden. It was wonderful to experience a real open fire and felt very comfortable throughout our stay. We hope to make a return visit.
I have emailed already to say we had a lovely stay, cottage was well equipped, clean and in a good location. We will definitely return but would ask that a hand rail is added to the top floor as both my daughter and I fell down the stairs and whilst we didn't have any serious injuries, we both still have cuts and bruises
We enjoyed the hospitality offered by the Apple Barn. It provided two couples with ample space, modern conveniences and an idyllic setting with surrounding farm. It was a bit difficult for us to find, but our hostess talked us through and provided a warm welcome as well as great recommendations for shopping and places to eat. We enjoyed the Walnet Tree Inn twice in the week.
The cottage is located in the village of Burpham - 3 miles from Arundel. It is a quiet village and really pretty - has one pub and a church. The garden is stunning but not really suitable for small dogs as we discovered when we chased one of our dogs through the village 11pm one night. The standard of the cottage and facilities is very good and the main king size bed is really comfortable. My only concerns were - the heating system is connected to a Rayburn and complicated - the previous occupants had pressed some buttons and we had no hot water. The mobile signal is not great there but t...more
Thank you for having us. Accomodation is placed very close to town, kitchen is extremely well designed and thought out, very nice to find biccies and water and milk provided for us. C;ean and comfortable accomodation in a lovely spot. Parking is a pain though - be aware if you have poor mobility - pot luck up a steep hill or running the gamut of parking wardens - we totaled £35 in parking fees over 4 days and had to set alarms to remember to move the car every 2-4 hours. Wardens are out there every day!
The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. There was a very generous welcome pack (including milk, which is difficult to get if you arrive on a sunday when Jempsons are closed). The letting agents were very attentive with communication and the instructions for access were clear and concise.
We had a wonderful week at Magnolia Cottage and it had everything we needed- a real down to earth home from home. It is small but really cosy and it has a beautiful back garden and sun room which we spent most of our time in during the day when we were around. Despite having good weather we could not stop ourselves from having a fire in the living room most evenings. The owner was lovely and very helpful when I needed to contact her. The treats that were left for both us and our dog Charlie were a lovely touch-though I don't think he is quite as impressed by our treats anymore! The cottage is ...more

This rural hide away has everything you could want, if looking for peace and solitude. A pub - 3 mins walk away (great sunday roast) Plenty to see and do on your doorstep, if you want to get out & about.
We had a perfect stay at Little Rough ! It is situated in a quiet part of the village, in the woods. The house is perfect for a family of four (2 adults and 2 children). Bed linens and towels are provided, which is useful, especially for oversea visitors ;) We found everything we needed, kettle, micro waves, washing machine, dish washer... Wonderful location, great places to visit such as Rye, Battle, The Observatory Science Park, Bodiam Castle etc. House is great, additional bathroom would make life easier for larger groups. Booking was easy and hassle free.
Very pleasant house. Well kitted out. Good Location. Easy to deal with. Thank you for a lovely stay.
A stylish conversion with high end appliances and a brilliant shower. The kitchen is well equipped but some items are missing - for instance a couple of " Pyrex " casseroles would be useful. The heating is very effective but the overall effect isn't cosy - a result of the slate floor and lack of rugs. The playing area at the back is a good idea. The garden is obviously a work in progress and needs improving quickly as, at the moment, it is not a very attractive place to sit. It is a recent conversion so I am sure that little touches will be added in the near future.
This location is ideal for a quiet get away as either a couple of a family. We are a couple with a young child (under 2). The Cottage was very easy to find. The long driveway could do with the potholes being filled. The cottage itself was very homely. bedrooms are a good size and the beds are very comfortable. Towels were provided with countless available in the master bedroom wardrobe. The bathroom is a good size with a bath and shower. Constant hot water was available. We have stayed at Echo House on several occasions and it is always just what we need. It is comfortable, clean with the bedroom/bathroom/living space ratio well balanced. There is always enough room to all hang out together or have a quiet corner for some personal space. Loads of hot water even when the house is full.
Quirky, quaint little cottage, very well equipped, lovely setting. The weather was very foggy and cold but would be delightful on a warm summer evening to sit out. Very quiet and peaceful.
A comfortable end of terrace house. Fairly spacious downstairs, good TV with apps so I could use Amazon video when I was there. Kitchen missing a few items such as weighing scales, grater and a bin! Lots of storage space. Useful downstairs toilet and ensuite upstairs although the shower head was leaky. The children loved the stream with accompanying ducks and peacocks, however it was quite noisy at night. Short walk to the train station for easy trip to Chichester. West Wittering beach was lovely for the children. We were lucky to have amazing weather, sunny every day. Owners could probably be...more
We enjoyed the stay. Everything was well cared for. On arrival we did not have to do direct shopping, what we needed was already there.
Our stay was very enjoyable, and very central to everything.I bought a weekly car pass for twentyfive pounds which saved a lot of hassle, only problem wss no upstairs loo
Magnificent location as well as unrivaled hospitality! Really charming cottage in a superb spot. Haven't been there for the last time.
Très bon séjour, que du positif : Maison spacieuse, confortable, propre, avec vue sur la mer de la véranda, pack de bienvenue (lait, jus de fruit) très appréciable, bien située. Nous vous la recommandons sans hésitations.
We were very pleasantly surprised. Cleanliness was exemplary, house fitted out with good quality new fittings and appliances, kitchen has the latest convection hob as well as everything else you might need and the house has loads of space. Warm comfortable, clear instructions in house manual. Absolutely no complaints.
Wonderful spacious place to stay in rural Kent. Really impressed with the place. Would recommend if you are looking for space and comfort. Had everything we needed.
Enjoyed our Easter stay at Sheriff Cottage (Easter eggs on arrival were a lovely touch as was the bottle of wine and chocolate biscuits), Cottage was well equipped, warm (Easter still quite cold at times)and cozy and well placed for where we wanted to be. Garden very pretty. Wifi signal strong in all parts of the house which was good as poor mobile phone signal in this area. Room sizes a bit smaller than looks on the photo's and the driveway description 'fits up to 2 cars' (maybe correct if you have a couple of smart cars or KA's) fitted one estate sized car quite nicely. Our 3rd stay at Tackleway Cottage, we love the location and the local amenities. The house is really well kitted out and suits 4 of us (children aged 5 & 7) perfectly. There is plenty of space for us all and it have everything we need. We hope to return again! The spiral stairs may make it difficult for some but they do at least free up floor space.
We had another great stay at Yew Tree Granary. Our host left us a lovely bottle of wine to enjoy in the garden in the sunshine. The property was very clean as usual. We have been returning to this cottage for a few years now. We find the location great for exploring Sussex and the fact we can take our little dog along is ideal.
Really enjoyed our stay at Lazy Meadow! The house was spotless and equipped with everything we needed, lots of space and light! The garden was simply fabulous! We enjoyed relaxing there and didn't feel to need to be out and about all of the time. A lovely village location with lots of facilities close by. We enjoyed great weather too!!!
We had a fantastic time here, cycling, walking and running and enjoying the peaceful lanes and woods. Lots to do in the local area and the cottage was fantastic.
We stayed at Barrington cottage over the Easter break as we were taking part in an orienteering event in the area. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The gardens are lovely and clearly very well looked after..
Lovely cottage situated in the heart of Arundel. The cottage is beautifully presented with all mod cons and more. A definite property to go back to
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage. Its in a lovely location to explore Arundel and the surrounding area. Would recommend a trip to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard which includes the Mary Rose exhibition which was excellent. What we would say is that parking could be a problem at busy times of the year as it hasn't got its own parking space. Parking is in the road adjacent to the cottage. Also the plug in the bathroom basin doesn't keep water in the sink so that is something that should be fixed. Having said that we would definitely stay here again.
our stay at wellow barn was very good all round. Great location for getting around the coastal area .We found local walks for our dog in the countryside just 50 mtr from wellow barn .Would stay here again.
Very nice appartment in a beautiful location in converted outbuildings next to the main house where the owners live. Very friendly owners who left us with the basic necessities for breakfast. The location is excellent for visiting the Downs and attractions of West Sussex. The only negative thing is the horrendous traffic around Arundel.
Very helpful owners, peaceful, and pretty village, great location for the coast and country side. Thank you
Excellent property, everything works, comfortable and quirky. It being winter we could not really take advantage of the outside space. Would hope to return in warmer weather to take enjoy long leisurely bbq's. Would recommend for family gatherings.
Great location. Historical building provoked interesting discussion. Warm and extremely comfortable beds. Host very obliging.
Stayed for a long weekend with husband, daughter and granddaughter to spend time with my mother who lives in nearby Midhurst and my sister who was visiting from the USA. Cottage was perfect. Very clean, well equipped and with a delightful garden and will definitely visit again. Thank you!
Apartment was well equiped and comfortable. The location makes a good base to explore the island from.
Lovely stay at Celebration Cottage. The house is lovely and relaxing and the garden is gorgeous. Housekeeper was very helpful. The only downside was that all the beds were singles and had very small single duvets on them. Our family are quite tall and all of our cold feet were sticking out the end. Some better duvets and zip and link beds would make it all the better. Overall really good.
A lovely house shame it's down a long industrial road, could do with a full length mirror , a non stick fry pan & a flexible spatula for the fry pan , otherwise it was great for a short stay with rye down the road & the nature reserve & William the Conqueeor pub 5mins away
We booked to stay 4 nights as our daughter was getting married near by,mr moor greated us and showed us around,he was very pleasant and helpful.the cottage is beautiful we all fell in love with it and wished we could stay longer.
A very nice property, every thing you needed was there. it is a three storey property so if you have difficulty with stairs bear this in mind. Emsworth has plenty to offer & very pretty by the water. Would book again if in the area.
We loved staying at Little Timbers. The property has so much charm and is in a lovely location, close to the beach. The garden space was great for the kids. We would go back.
The owner had freshly baked a cake and left it on the kitchen table for when we arrived, together with fresh flowers in a vase. How good is that? Property very well equipped. Good wi-fi connection. Excellent location for Bluebell Railway, Standen House (NT) & Forest Way for walking/cycling (amongst others). The only possible downside - the second bedroom isn't really big enough for two adults.
Stay for 5 nights . The cottage has everything you need, very clean . The only downside Was the dreaded stairs . Not suitable for the less able person or a over excited dog ( he fell down them when we first arrive , had to carry him up and down for the rest of stay.)Lots of nice places to eat out or get a takeaway . Owners of cottage run local pub . Very helpful and friendly. A lot of the pubs are dog friendly. Lots of places nearby to visit Brighton, Worthing and littlehampton just a few we visited.
Cosy accommodation for two with own entrance and small garden. Dog walks from the house along public footpaths with views of the Bluebell Railway. Owners made us feel very welcome.
A well equipped and comfortable lodge. A good location with easy access to the coast and villages. Although it did not bother us too much, some mention of heavy traffic noise at peak times should be made in the property description.
Cottage ideal for dogs as garden and walks from the door perfect. Also very handy for all that Rye has to offer with numerous first class restaurants and pubs 5 mins walk. House spotless although a little chilly initially but has everything you need for a break.
Accueil très sympathique, logement original et tout à fait adapté pour deux personnes. Environnement champêtre, belle région, beaux villages dans les environs. Belles pistes cyclables à proximité.
Our second stay - great location for the coast and inland to the South Downs. Very comfortable and well equipped.
A great 5 days at Beach Reach - the first morning we woke up to snow on the beach which the girls loved albeit very cold.... the house was warm however and the open fire we used every day. The house is very family friendly, one thing i didn't pick up on was that there was no bath - not ideal with a 2 year old but we managed all the same. The road at the front of the property is a race track on Friday and Saturday nights so noisy for the kids in the front bedroom..... all in all a nice break - not sure i'd want to pay the premium for the house in the summer which is a shame - could do wi...more
The apartment is comfortable and in a very good location as there are many restaurants literally on your doorstep. Brighton town centre and pier are within walking distance (1/2 hour). We had a great 4 days. The only gripe we had was that the cleaners did not clean the shower cubicle very well (hairs) and the furniture/floor was left rather dusty.
St Mary's cottage was a home away from home. We loved the quirkiness of it - the fact that when the washing machine went into a spin, the whole flat shook, made us think we were taking off. Also loved the uneven floors - going down hill to the bathroom and things rolling off the chest of drawers as the floors were so uneven. Beautifully clean, although we had to wash their towels during our stay and ask for the linen to be changed after a week. Only downfall was the fact you had to risk life and limb trying to load or unload the car as there is no parking outside, the front door is rig...more
On the approach we were very shocked by the location, in such close proximity to the rear of the bakery, dirty bins right outside the front door, lack of grassy areas to take my dog to relieve herself was a real bind, unable to park even for the short time it took me to pick up my elderly mother, very disappointing as the cottage inside is very comfortable and warm.
The setting, general peace & quiet, and the pool are considerable assets for the studio. As I have a mobility issue, having bed upstairs and toilet downstairs was a bit of a nuisance -- especially at 3am ! But we coped On the downside : 1] We couldn't find a definitive apartment handbook. We expected a typed fie providing clear guidance on how the apartment works [eg cooker, heating, lighting etc] as well as general guidance on local services [eg supermarket, doctor, dentist etc] 2] There was no "set" of pots & pans for cooking 3] The studio handbook/visitors' book provides a hand-...more
Courtyard Cottage was lovely. Two very comfortable spacious bedrooms and nicely furnished. The cottage is set in beautiful grounds and there is a small courtyard with table and chairs. The kitchen is small but adequate for a family of four. This property states it is not suitable for young children and I believe that is due to it's close proximity to a very busy main road. However, the road noise is not a problem in the cottage but it is not easy to walk in the local area.
We enjoyed very much our stay at Harbinger during the easter week. The house is an excellent place for a family; the kitchen is fully equipped, there are two nice bathrooms, the bedrooms are very well with beds in which we slept perfectly, and the living room is very comfortable, too. The host couple is very friendly, they welcomed us with a lovely welcome present, included some fruits and local bread. Highly recommended!!
Clean(thank you),comfortable and well equipped cottage. Owners vey welcoming and helpful. Four adults and a dog had an enjoyable winter break.
Stayed over Christmas. Great location with local pubs and shops within easy walking distance. Good central heating for the winter months. Plenty of room. Owner very nice and helpful.
The cottage was a very charming holiday home that needed more attention to detail. The crockery needed replacing most were chipped or cracked and nothing matched. The cottage could be a really nice retreat but needed love and attention to bring it up to standard
The accommodation was really lovely, the location was our main criteria and it really was fantastic! Quiet, picturesque & very relaxing. Some feedback is that we found the bed very uncomfortable and quite difficult to get up & down even though we are experienced climbers and quite young - well I like to think we are quite young! It would have been really great to have somewhere to store our clothes rather than in our suitcases on the floor. We really had a lovely relaxing time, such a perfect setting, well appointed and so easy for our Labrador. Thanks
Modern house well equipped. Shame about the limited parking. In general house style suits only 2 adults and kids due to only one shower and small kitchen/dining area. Office/lounge extension was a plus.
Very pleased with our stay in Appletree Cottage ! We had some slight concerns due to one or two 'negative' reviews previously posted but we can honestly say that we had absolutely no complaints at all about staying in this cosy, old cottage ( the downstairs bathroom is no big deal, being at the bottom of the stairs rather than 'off the lounge' as such, and the whole cottage was spotlessly clean ). A great supermarket and pub (Cock Inn) just down the road. Also a great location for exploring the surrounding areas of East Sussex and Kent.
The cottage was set in a stunning location with wonderful views and access to walks to enjoy the countryside. The grounds of the cottage were also peaceful and the owners were friendly and very helpful. Our only criticism was that the cottage needed a little tlc; it had cobwebs round ceilings, fittings missing from curtains so they hung down awkwardly, light bulbs that needed replacing and windows that had poor fastenings and blown glass. None of this spoilt our holiday but we regularly have this sort of break where we rent cottages for walking opportunities and this was noticeably the worst p...more
Sunny position with fantastic views, sunsets behind the church, pubs easy walking distance and a friendly host. Bathroom needs some attention despite new toilet seat! Comfortable living room well heated.
With someone living below, we found it almost impossible to walk across the hard wood floor quietly. A carpet or large rug in the bedroom would have been very helpful. In the kitchen some basic items we have normally found in other properties were not available. A washing up bowl, hand-wash, small sharp knife for preparing dishes (the very large sharp kitchen knives were too clumsy) and a microwave. We were not sure whether the one towel in the kitchen was intended for drying dishes or drying hands..
Good location for walking South Downs Way.. Good quality furniture although bed could do with new mattress as I could feel the springs. Good to have Internet access but would have liked DVD player. Excellent shower and bath facilities although the gas ran out whilst we were there so we had a day without hot water whilst the owner ordered more. (They did give us access to another shower in the annex so we were grateful for that.) Oven and hob were excellent and quick. Would have benefitted from further kitchen equipment such as teapot, casserole dishes, small plates.and kitchen scales. Good to...more
Spacious and well equipped cottage with some thoughtful touches. Beautiful location, very relaxing, I would happily book this property again.
External renovations at property very good. Internal condition average at best and quality of renovation poor and tatty. Cleaning only just acceptable, lots of large, dusty cobwebs. On arrival absolutely NO effort had been made to provide a welcome. One half-finished box of tea bags and a congealed centimetre of coffee in a filthy jar along with an odd assortment of 4 or 5 old groceries in the cupboard... out-of date Bisto among them. 2 toilet rolls were left on the kitchen counter, not even hung in the bathrooms. The worst bit though was the appalling tone of the myriad 'orders' and t...more
