The property was perfect! The owners wanted you to feel at home and we certainly did. The property was immaculate and everything was there that you needed, so much so we wished we could buy it! It was also in a fantastic location, walking distance from several pubs and cafes, only a 20 minute drive to the centre of Chichester and we spent a fantastic day at Arundel Castle and Gardens which we would highly recommend a visit to. We would definitely recommend this property and the area.
Really nice cottage, very well equipped and in a beautiful secluded location. Much appreciated welcoming provisions as well as friendly hosts.
We picked Dairy Cottage in Burley for location and advertised info .on website. We found the cottage to be very clean and well looked after. The owners were very welcoming and happy to give any help we needed about the area.
Our language holiday was just perfect, we were near to the English Language Centre, near to the beach and we had a beautiful apartment. An Excellent holiday.
Jubilee House was a lovely property to stay in for our visit to Chichester. We were a party of five adults and one toddler staying at this property for the first time, for five nights in April. The owners of Jubilee House have put a lot of thought into creating a very beautiful and comfortable holiday home, with everything you may possibly need. We had a really enjoyable stay and would be very happy to stay again.
Great hosts with lovely welcome pack, the accommodation was spotless and cosy and the peaceful surroundings made this the perfect spot. Easy walk via footpaths and blue bell woods from rock house mews to the village and fab location for walks and the coast, highly recommend
This year's holiday was one that I will remember for years to come as it was superb in every way you could imagine. The house had everything that one needs (even a fan) . The weather was also on our side as we had lovely weather for the 2 weeks. The owner were marvelous making our stay really pleasant.
We stayed at the Devonshire app.August 2016 .the apartment was great it was like home from home every detail was thought of the kitchen was really well equipped , the apartment was spotlessly clean .the bed was comfortable .everything was 5 star plus. I would highly recommend this apartment.
Would recommend the cottage and the owners, who were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. In fact we have already recommended them to friends.
We had a fantastic break. Lovely walks for the dogs. We are booking again for the summer. Enough said !!
The cottage we stayed in was just as it was advertised, it was very well equiped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts were very attentive with just the right level of contact while we were staying there, the location is very good, just a few minuets from the shops and beaches, The cream tea on arrival is a very nice touch. If we travel in that area again we would definitely stay there again.
The apartment was delightful and had everything I needed for a short break. It was close to all amenities and within walking distance of different pubs and eating venues. Sharon was friendly and welcoming and I would definitely stay here again. Perfect spot for a romantic weekend away.
Super cottage, loads of character and very comfortable and spacious. Everything was thought of with all you need. Very quiet, peaceful location. Cannot recommend it highly enough. hope to stay again sometime.
We have stayed here before and were determined to return. Chris and Eileen are the most delightful hosts and always welcome you as old friends. The property could not be better and is equipped to the highest standard in every room. It is a real home from home set in the most wonderful location. Choose to stay here and you will not be disappointed
From the moment we arrived at The Reading Rooms we knew that we were going to enjoy our stay. We received a very warm welcome from the owner of the property. It was spotlessly clean and had everything thing we needed for our stay. Just around the corner from the property was an excellent pub called The Three Crowns. I have never experienced a pub like it everyone was so welcoming and the food was excellent. There is plenty to look at in this area and we would like to return again.
calm , clean , clear , cosy and so smart !!! near the town centre we love it and hope to come back again
A very friendly welcome the accomodationvery good and kitchen very modern. Would recommend it to anybody.. Terry Newland
We were given a lovely welcome and advice on places to visit nearby. The cottage was warm, comfortable and had everything that might be needed for a short stay. The nearby surroundings were very pretty and good for walks. We had a very happy visit and would highly recommend Rosemary Cottage.
The overall experience was very good and one we might happily repeat. The lodge was spotlessly clean and looked well cared for. The furnishing was old fashioned but attractive and of good quality. The lodge kitchen was convenient and well stocked but some larger dinner plates would have been appreciated. The collection of books was fascinating, dvds less so. The decking, surrounded with roses and honeysuckle, is an attractive seating area but traffic and train noise is marked, as you would expect from the position of the building. The road is busy and the trains all sound their horns as they p...more
Bay Tree Cottage is very well laid out and equipped. A dining table is located beside south facing windows with views into the garden and the downs beyond. There's also a small dining table out in the garden. The kitchen and adjacent sitting areas are well equipped. The bedroom has a large, comfortable bed and generous natural light, plus an internet radio. Ensuite bathroom has a large shower and heated towel rack. All linens, appliances and kitchen wares are very good quality. The owner (Shona) may also be able to cook you a delicious meal if you make arrangements a day or two beforehand - hi...more
We found the Painters Old Studio absolutely delightful - and the owners were so kind - lovely people. We had a heatwave during our stay and were able to take all meals outside - had it not been so good, we would have found the kitchen/dining area very cramped indeed. Amberley is a beautiful village - an excellent village shop - and a very good tea shop - all within easy reach of the South Downs and/or river walks. Anna
we go as a family including my 90 year old mother. The central location with immediate access to all required facilities is important to us.Angel cottage has a comfortable feel,is well presented and the owners provide a generous welcome pack. This year was our second visit and I am sure we will return again
This beautiful new cottage is lovely decorated with lots of finishing touches. It provides everything you wish for. The bedlinnen and towels are top of the range. The centre of Arundel is just around the corner and we made nice walks along the river. Lots of opportunities for sightseeing nearby. We went to Brighton, Winchester, Chichester and visited Highdown Gardens. The owners were so friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome and had a great week. This is without a doubt one of the best cottages we ever stayed in. We would love to came back someday.
Booked as a late deal with Amberley House Cottage Holidays, by telephone. The process was easy and communication was excellent. Oak Grove was well equipped to a very high standard and has a homely feel to it. Located in a very quiet residential area in a village that has the basic amenities, village shop, newsagent, takeaways and pub. Great location for exploring the surrounding area.
Excellent as always. I have stayed in crown cottage several times and enjoyed my stay each time. The property is very good and location is excellent.
Pretty, quiet, clean cottage in great location. Loved views and tranquility. In excellent condition. Would benefit from thick curtains in bedroom to block light. Have already recommended to family and friends.
my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the old village shop. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The cottage was in a beautiful peaceful location and was a very good base from which to explore the area. The cottage itself was exceptionally clean and comfortable and I hope to return very soon.
Our son and daughter-in-law, from Sydney, and their children stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Very comfortable, lovely situation and they'd be happy to stay again if/when they come again.
We were thrilled with the warm welcome we received from Paula and Chrissy when we arrived - a homemade Easter cake and prosecco as well as much appreciated basics like bread, milk and teabags! The house itself is fantastic - so spacious and well presented as well as being spotlessly clean. The beds are very comfortable and the house is so cosy and warm. Location wise it is brilliant with a lovely little Village just down the road, a park for the children and a delicious restaurant - all within walking distance. We certainly hope to return again in the future! Xx
Really enjoyed our stay here; set in beautiful gardens - magical. Loved watching all the birds on the feeders just outside the windows - including woodpeckers. So peaceful and quiet. The property is ideally situated to visit local attractions in the area - Bosham, Pulbourgh Brooks, Midhurst, Hinten Ampner. The owners live in the adjoining property and are very helpful and pleasant. The property itself is very nice. Would recommend.
We had a lovely break in the Little Barn. The hosts gave us a very warm welcome and some good suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. The barn has everything you need for a peaceful getaway for two in this lovely village and is a good base for exploring the area. Unfortunately we had mixed weather so we couldn't take advantage of the lovely balcony with wonderful views every day but we would definitely return.
We stayed at the pumphouse for 6 nights. We reallly loved the place. It was very cosy and fetl like home immediatly. We recommend it to anybody to go and stay there. The people were very welcoming and helpfull.
A family party of 8 of us stayed for a week including 3 small children and 1 grandparent and both the house and location worked perfectly. It is a beautiful house with plenty of space (kids playroom & grown up sitting room) for everyone to do their own thing. The location on the river with views up to Arundel Castle & Cathedral is fantastic and 3 of the double bedrooms overlook the river. The kitchen is very well equipped and there are children's toys available too, plus plastic crockery. We would highly recommend the house and location, there is so much to do locally and being able to walk ...more

We had a lovely time staying in Ivy Cottage - perfect for what we needed (family of 5), beautifully decorated and generously equipped, at various times the boys enjoyed the 'tv room' to themselves and we had a great relaxing time in peace in the 'other' sitting room! The cottage was also excellently situated for our day trip to London (3 mins walk to Pulborough train station! ) and we had a short drive to Billingshurst the next day, to hire bikes and have a cycle down the pretty canal paths. Susan made us feel very welcome and we wouldn't hesitate to come back to Ivy Cottage if in the area a...more
We spent a lovely Christmas in The Fisher Dairy, the owners had even provided a real Christmas tree. We felt very much at home. The owners live next door and are very friendly, helpful and approachable, The cottage is finished to a very high standard in a lovely location. It has everything you need for a great holiday. The garden is enclosed, which is great as dogs are allowed too. Would highly recommend.
Comfortable and well equiped cottage in a rural area. Nice walks possible from the cottage and in easy reach to various outings. very friendly welcome by owners with goodies in the fridge! Nice pubs in the area.
Everything about tail end cottage was good. The position right in the centre of rye was excellent. Very close to plenty of good places to eat.
Can't fault it. Chose Poets for it location and was very happy with it. Ideal for walks in the country, literally straight out of the building into Hangers (wooded hills). Portsmouth 25 mins away with lots of attractions.
The Cottage is equipped to a high very standard and in a very quiet and tranquil location. Also within a relatively short distance there are many interesting villages to visit including Arundel, Midhurst and Petworth where walks and visits to Castles and Historic Houses are possible.Chichester and the coast are also only a short distance away where the beaches and walks around West Wittering are well worth a visit. So if you are a keen walker and interested in History or just want a very relaxing stay Woodland Cottage is an ideal choice.
What a week when you go some where you have never been you sometimes wonder if you booked the right place. At Rose cottage we were at home as soon as we went though the door. Everything you needed , clean and well thought out. If you are N. Trust members as we are you will be more than happy the walking is great. Plenty of maps and books in the cottage. We hire about four cottages a year and I can recommend this one. Mick C
We recently had a lovely stay in Rosemead Cottage near Handcross. Rick and Marilyn Cuss were very welcoming hosts when we arrived, and we were quite charmed by the cottage, where everything was set for our comforts. It's an idyllic country setting, and even though it was January, the gardens were pretty. It's a great location for getting to many attractions and sites in the area, and quite close to our daughters. We look forward to a return trip in the near future as our schedule permits! Thanks again, Phil and Mary Ramm
Perfect retreat to relax and enjoy the countryside. peaceful, private, Clean, spacious, bright and very functional 2 bed room cottage, very welcoming hosts, immediately made to feel at home, We will return to enjoy more.
This is a beautifully kept cottage in one of the loveliest parts of Sussex. Footpaths lead out over the downs and the vineyards, and you can come back to an evening in the garden. Wonderfully tranquil, but with all the warmth and welcome of excellent hosts at the farmhouse next door.
Very comfortable house with good facilities, excellent gardens which the children loved as so many secret areas to explore. Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Would be more than happy to stay here again.
The things that would have made the Ship Inn Cottage even better were more light in the sitting room - otherwise it was excellent.
Very modern and spacious cottage with a warm welcome in an wondervul environment and only a few minutes to the coast.
The cottage was lovely, big enough for us and our three children. It was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was really well stocked, all the home comforts you need on a self catering holiday. It was a real home away from home, we had a brilliant time and hopefully will be back next year!
The property is spacious, well equipped and comfortable, with a great deal of local information and maps provided by the owners. The outside space is very limited. The location is in a residential area and very quiet. Lovely walks on the South Downs and coast nearby.
Real home from home. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Owner attentive and left lovely welcome pack. Beautiful views but you do need a car. We will definitely be coming back.
This was a really comfortable and welcoming cottage, perfect for us as a couple. It is very well equipped and everything works well. Location is fantastic, right in the centre of the citadel.
This was the third time we have stayed at The Stables which gives some indication of how much we like it. everything is perfect and we are already discussing when to come back again next year.
We had a lovely week, the cottage was lovely, the kitchen well fitted and the welcome pack very well received. Hilary was very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday
We stayed at Quail Cottage during our wedding weekend and could not have asked for a more perfect place. We loved everything about the cottage; its location, setting, atmosphere, amenities. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely return!
A lovely appointed and spacious cottage/apartment with secluded balcony. A problem with the TV remote brought immediate response and new TV supplied.
An excellent holiday home in a great location. Very clean and well maintained with all that is needed for a great holiday. The ground floor bedroom is ideal to give one level living if required.
Lovely old cottage with lots of character in the centre of Rye. More than enough room for our 2 families to stay over Easter. Couple of bumps on the low ceiling beams but we soon learned to duck! Very welcoming with a bowlful of satsumas, a packet of chocolate eggs and a bottle of milk in the fridge for our arrival. The small paved garden was perfect for an Easter egg hunt. Altogether a great holiday home and can't wait to come back again.
Super Ferienhaus, Sehr sauber und gepflegt. Sehr nette Vermieter. Tolle Einrichtung. Nur die nahe Strasse stört vielleicht, wenn man auf der Terrasse sitzen möchte.
Cottage well maintained and in a beautiful location under Ditchling Beacon, which we walked up to one evening, although you can also drive up. A lot to do in the area. We particularly liked Wakehurst Kew, Arundel Castle and Lewes. Further afield we visited Great Dixter and Churchill's home at Chartwell. Would happily recommend this cottage to anyone wishing to stay in the area.
We loved staying at The Mint. Superbly equipped and lots of attention to detail. The location in the centre of the town is perfect for accessing shops, pubs, cafes, walks, trains, etc., but there is a small trade-off - it can be noisy late at night as people find their way home from the pubs - more so on Fri/Sat nights. Also the deliveries, refuse collectors and street cleaners come early (6.30am), the latter every day. Having said that, it is a small sacrifice for staying in a wonderful cottage in a lovely town.
Exremely good, warm welcome, very well equipped, very relaxing. What more would you ask for? exxtra characters follow xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Quiet restful holiday break in very pleasant surroundings. Excellent accommodation. Warm welcome from Mrs Wiseman set the tone for the holiday.
Well we could not fault little bridges it suited us completely, quiet which made it very peaceful ,with the birds singing and the sun shining what more would you ask for.The cottage is spotless and comfortable and endless places to go visit and places to eat
Wow! What a beautiful little cottage. Spotlessly clean and very well-equipped with everything you could need from washing-up liquid to salt and pepper. The cooking facilities were excellent and the bed was comfortable. The second sitting-room/study was very useful. Ann and Lawrence the owners who lived adjacent to the cottage were helpful and friendly without being over-intrusive during our stay. The cottage is in a beautiful peaceful location and has direct access onto a bridlepath leading to many glorious walks and also the Downs Link, making it an excellent base for walkers and cy...more
A short break in the Dairy Byre was most enjoyable. The property has great charm, was very well thought out and fully equipped - much thought given to the needs of guests. Val was very helpful and had provided home-made cake ready for arrival. She was on hand to advise about the local area and to ensure everything in the cottage was in full working order. We could not have asked for more, had a really pleasant few days and would thoroughly recommend staying in the Dairy Byre.
Excellent cottage and will probably return. Location beautiful and surrounding places to visit interesting
Enjoyed my stay at Mouse House, obviously weather played a big part and was able to sit outside a lot. As a solo guest I did find it a bit isolated.
Ideal location for exploring Sussex, very peaceful and the wildlife was amazing,. Great Stable !!!!!
Lovely spacious accommodation in tranquil surroundings. Lost of local pubs around and Pagham seaside 10 min drive away.
A stunning characterful little cottage in the heart of Arundel, ideally located next to a great pub and opposite the Coop, perfect for our late night chocolate cravings and stocking up on more liquid refreshments. Spent many hours snuggling in front of the cosy fire, cooking in the well equipped kitchen and watching movies. Cloud nine comfy beds greeted us when we eventually needed our beauty sleep. Would highly recommend a staying here; we certainly can't wait for a return visit.
A very comfortable, and well appointed holiday cottage, located near the lovey South Downs and within striking distance of Brighton and other Sussex jewels such as Lewis and Rye. A thoughtful welcome pack was provided on arrival and some festive decoration displayed as our stay was between Christmas and the New Year. No complaints at all.
We had a wonderful time at the Pool House. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and the house met all our expectations. The house is comfortable, well-equipped and ideally located on the edge of Petworth, so it is ideally placed for walking into the town or for visiting Petworth Park.
Clare Cottage is sweet and well-decorated, with many nice features and a well-stocked kitchen (although we did not find any oven gloves or kitchen scales). It is very well located, in a beautiful area with excellent walking, and within easy reach of Hastings and Rye. The local pub, the Red Lion, which is a few steps away, is fantastic and very friendly, a real gem. However, its main drawback is that it is right on a very busy road, the A21, so there is constant traffic noise and the headlights of cars flashing by through the night. Also, the cottage has very low ceilings, with low lintels ...more
Wepham is a hamlet located on the east side of the Arun valley. It is reached down a no-through road the ends in the village of Burpham. Wepham is on the side of a hill which means that Candle cottage has a lovely view frommthe master bedroom over to Arundel and its fairy-tale castle . Candle cottage is a newly built holiday home. Internally the attention to detailing is first class. The ground floor is a large open plan kitchen/dining/living area. A large bi-fold door opens out onto a west facing patio complete with barbeque. Unfortunately the windy weather during our stay (3/6/17-10/6/17)...more
Having only booked this cottage for a weekend, I wish it had been longer! Set in beautiful countryside the cottage was warm, welcoming and fully equipped for all needs. The owners had also thoughtfully provided excellent quality foods (sausages, bacon, eggs, milk, bread etc., even a bottle of wine!) to save us having to shop that evening and the following morning. Situated in a gorgeous country garden with plenty of wildlife and footpaths to take you over fields for walks. I cant praise this accommodation enough and hope to return.
An absolutely beautiful cottage in a delightful location with plenty of nearby walks. Proper duvets would be the icing on the cake!
The property is an annex to the main house, it was clean and comfortable and all on one level which suited our needs. Paula came over after we arrived and was very welcoming, she had kindly put milk in the fridge and left us some scones and jam which were much appriceated after a long journey. Information for applicences ect. were easy to find and clear as well as lots of brochures for places in the area to visit. The houses has a lovely garden which we were told we could use. Very enjoyable stay and would certainly use again if in the area and would recommend to others.
This was a sudden decision to come back here six weeks later Much the same as before with warmer weather. Ian met us on arrival and again most helpful. Over the many years and experiences of holiday cottages this is one of the best. Andrews A
This is a small studio cottage which is cosy and welcoming set in the grounds of a large house. The parking directly outside is useful. The hostess is lovely and very helpful. The road noise is contained through having double glazed windows and the property has a bath which was good for me. The only thing that wasn't so good was that the internet was very poor and I did need this to contact my nephew and nieces whom I had come to see. Overall though a good place to stay.
We will certainly return to Cuckfield Granary! We had the most beautiful weather and combined with the luxury stay in this house the holidays turned out great!
This is our 3 or 4 stay at Croft Cottage and it is good to see that standards are at a continuing high
The summer house was very cosy and private, great terrace for al fresco dining. The owners live next door but The summer house is private & not overlooked. We met the owners when we arrived, who were very friendly & helpful.
Just got back from celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary at Grans Cottage. As ex pats from Sussex (now living in Cornwall) we know the area well, but were still amazed at this quiet haven just of the busy main road. The cottage is very well fitted out with lots of extras such as board games, dvds and books to while away any inclement evenings. The cottage itself is wonderful, with lots of hidden gems such as the large bedroom in the attic, a surprisingly large bathroom for the cottage size and a little suntrap courtyard to the rear of the property.. We had a few minor niggles such as the ...more
Our second May / June stay at Magnolia Cottage. A clean and cosy “real” terraced cottage with the accompanying character for its period. Some low doorways and quirky nooks are part of the experience. The owner leaves some treats for humans and dogs on arrival …. A welcome and thoughtful touch! Improvements this year were a brighter garden due to some foliage and tree removal, and secure fencing for dogs. A new fridge/freezer, replacement leather settees, and in response to customers … an internet “Dongle” which is simple to use and works perfectly on sensible surfing, Fb, Flickr and E-mails...more
Lovely location with scenic walks on your doorstep. A very quiet and peaceful setting within the grounds of the owners house. Friendly welcome by the owners. The accommodation is very comfortable and supplied with all that you need for your stay. This was our first visit to West Sussex and we were truly captured by it rural beauty and will be returning again, would be more that happy to come back to the Print Studio.
The quintessential country home, the nicest Cottage we' ve ever been to. Perfect for a family of four. Walks on your doorstep.
I have emailed already to say we had a lovely stay, cottage was well equipped, clean and in a good location. We will definitely return but would ask that a hand rail is added to the top floor as both my daughter and I fell down the stairs and whilst we didn't have any serious injuries, we both still have cuts and bruises
We enjoyed the hospitality offered by the Apple Barn. It provided two couples with ample space, modern conveniences and an idyllic setting with surrounding farm. It was a bit difficult for us to find, but our hostess talked us through and provided a warm welcome as well as great recommendations for shopping and places to eat. We enjoyed the Walnet Tree Inn twice in the week.
The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. There was a very generous welcome pack (including milk, which is difficult to get if you arrive on a sunday when Jempsons are closed). The letting agents were very attentive with communication and the instructions for access were clear and concise.
I booked Tollgates for a birthday stay with some friends, and it was perfect. The house was lovely, as was the cottage garden. Located just outside of the centre of Rye with views across the marsh, and on the same road as The Globe Marsh Inn (with a superb selection of gins). Was very pleased to make use of the barbecue, and although we didn't attempt to get the hot tub going, I imagine that would be pretty special when it's a bit chillier. Loads to do in Rye, and it seemed to be a very friendly place. Some great walks out of town and into Rye Harbour/Winchelsea if you fancy stretching y...more
Clean and conforyable Lovely sunny courtyard. Friendly owners. Excellent position for forrest or beach.
Very good for a quiet and peaceful holiday, which is want we wanted, dog friendly area, barn, and garden very good, Kip could not be more helpful, hope to return.
We had a perfect stay at Little Rough ! It is situated in a quiet part of the village, in the woods. The house is perfect for a family of four (2 adults and 2 children). Bed linens and towels are provided, which is useful, especially for oversea visitors ;) We found everything we needed, kettle, micro waves, washing machine, dish washer... Wonderful location, great places to visit such as Rye, Battle, The Observatory Science Park, Bodiam Castle etc. House is great, additional bathroom would make life easier for larger groups. Booking was easy and hassle free.
The cottage was perfect for our grown-up family, plenty of space and quiet location, ideal for walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Good places to eat, just down the road or an enjoyable 15 to 20 minute walk along footpaths into Petworth.
We enjoyed our holiday in Arundel very much. The Sale Lift is in a great location. We found the stairs a little difficult particularly when going down and perhaps other less able people would have great difficulty with them. We discovered on Saturday night that we had no TV signal but this was repaired on Monday. There are DVDs available so it wasn't a big inconvenience.
A comfortable end of terrace house. Fairly spacious downstairs, good TV with apps so I could use Amazon video when I was there. Kitchen missing a few items such as weighing scales, grater and a bin! Lots of storage space. Useful downstairs toilet and ensuite upstairs although the shower head was leaky. The children loved the stream with accompanying ducks and peacocks, however it was quite noisy at night. Short walk to the train station for easy trip to Chichester. West Wittering beach was lovely for the children. We were lucky to have amazing weather, sunny every day. Owners could probably be...more
The cottage itself is amazing, we all wanted to move in! It was clean, the beds were big and comfy and those of us with small children were thrilled by the quality of the curtains (properly dark!) The hotel grounds were an unexpected delight, great for walks followed by drinks on the terrace. We loved the coffee machine and there was a great selection of toiletries. Some of the family made good use of the hotel gym, a great facility.
The cottage had everything we needed. It was in a lovely position. Plenty of nice walks for the dog. The owners were very pleasant.
We enjoyed the stay. Everything was well cared for. On arrival we did not have to do direct shopping, what we needed was already there.
A large cosy, comfortable house with an amazing garden. Located in a small quiet village with an excellent local pub which is dog-friendly and serves good food. Fantastic local walks, including to the charming town of Arundel a couple of miles away. Cooking is by Rayburn so you need to be familiar with its operation.
Our stay was very enjoyable, and very central to everything.I bought a weekly car pass for twentyfive pounds which saved a lot of hassle, only problem wss no upstairs loo
We were very pleasantly surprised. Cleanliness was exemplary, house fitted out with good quality new fittings and appliances, kitchen has the latest convection hob as well as everything else you might need and the house has loads of space. Warm comfortable, clear instructions in house manual. Absolutely no complaints.
Well thought out , with stylish furniture & accesories.in a good location, so you could leave car parked at cottage.
Really enjoyed our stay at Lazy Meadow! The house was spotless and equipped with everything we needed, lots of space and light! The garden was simply fabulous! We enjoyed relaxing there and didn't feel to need to be out and about all of the time. A lovely village location with lots of facilities close by. We enjoyed great weather too!!!
Came down to Chichester for a family wedding and made it into short break staying at North Mundham cottages. Studio is just right for a couple and we enjoyed the swimming pool and tennis court. A really nice place to stay.
Our 3rd stay at Tackleway Cottage, we love the location and the local amenities. The house is really well kitted out and suits 4 of us (children aged 5 & 7) perfectly. There is plenty of space for us all and it have everything we need. We hope to return again! The spiral stairs may make it difficult for some but they do at least free up floor space.
Cormorants is a very comfortable and spacious place in which one will quickly feel at home. It may be a little remote but that also provides calmness and nature at your doorstep. Most if not all one need in a holiday or short break is available.
Lovely property with stunning views but beware of awful parking facilities. Parking is available outside the garage of the property which is reached via a very narrow unmade track or down the very steep slope outside the bungalow. Our SUV struggled to make it back up the steep accent so we left the it outside the garage and walked down to the property - this will be unsuitable for someone with limited mobility.
We had a fantastic time here, cycling, walking and running and enjoying the peaceful lanes and woods. Lots to do in the local area and the cottage was fantastic.
Enjoyed our Easter stay at Sheriff Cottage (Easter eggs on arrival were a lovely touch as was the bottle of wine and chocolate biscuits), Cottage was well equipped, warm (Easter still quite cold at times)and cozy and well placed for where we wanted to be. Garden very pretty. Wifi signal strong in all parts of the house which was good as poor mobile phone signal in this area. Room sizes a bit smaller than looks on the photo's and the driveway description 'fits up to 2 cars' (maybe correct if you have a couple of smart cars or KA's) fitted one estate sized car quite nicely. We would conside...more
Great location. Lovely riverside walk into Arundel. Very welcoming owners who were around if needed, but very discreet. Cottage was very comfortable.
A very enjoyable stay in this cottage. It is well positioned for the town. The stairs took a bit of getting used to and definitely not good for someone who is tall. The parking was slightly difficult at times and took some skill to get into the small spaces that were available. That said this cottage is charming & was worth the hassle.
We really loved the large L shaped sofas. They we so comfortable it was difficult to do anything but relax. Our favourite room was the open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge and in particular the feature gas fire. Overall the best thing was it had a feel of a home from home. Everything you could need was provided and it was furnished and decorated to a very high standard.
Everything was better than we expected. Especially the warm welcome by the hosts. The stay was relaxing in the quiet surroundings of West Sussex. The Location was a perfect starting point for our visits of so many beautiful parks and gardens nearby.
We loved our stay in this beautiful spot . Clare was very friendly and helpfull. It has everything you need. It is not ideal for tall people as the ceiling is very low downstairs and we all banged our heads. The bedrooms are charming, The 1st floor bedroom has a very comfortable bed but the twin upstairs has rather thin mattresses and therefor more suitable for a family with children than two couples.
our stay at wellow barn was very good all round. Great location for getting around the coastal area .We found local walks for our dog in the countryside just 50 mtr from wellow barn .Would stay here again.
Excellent property, everything works, comfortable and quirky. It being winter we could not really take advantage of the outside space. Would hope to return in warmer weather to take enjoy long leisurely bbq's. Would recommend for family gatherings.
Great location. Historical building provoked interesting discussion. Warm and extremely comfortable beds. Host very obliging.
A pretty gate cottage on the Parkhurst House estate with roses and peonies around the windows Special thanks to Aricel (is that correct?) for doing our washing and ironing A car is essential although the cottage is not too remote from shops and services
Lovely cottage in the heart of Arundel, everything provided. We had a great time and would love to stay again. Many thanks!
Rosings is a very attractive comfortable cottage in a beautiful quiet location. We spent a great week there and loved going on walks straight from the cottage.
Everthing is provided in this lovely large bungalow. Plenty of space to enjoy. A short walk across the road to the beach.
It's a lovely place to stay, very close to Arundel and it's amenities, walks from the door if you don't want to drive, train station handy also. Phillip and Anne were great hosts, made us and our dog Amber very welcome. Would recommend.
A super location in the Old Town with bakeries, restaurants and easy walking up to East and West Hill on the doorstep. There is a lovely sunny patio at the front of the apartment where we had breakfast, and the apartment was clean and comfortable. It's on a very quiet street, and the owner was very quick and courteous at responding to queries. Highly recommended.
Apartment was well equiped and comfortable. The location makes a good base to explore the island from.
Lovely stay at Celebration Cottage. The house is lovely and relaxing and the garden is gorgeous. Housekeeper was very helpful. The only downside was that all the beds were singles and had very small single duvets on them. Our family are quite tall and all of our cold feet were sticking out the end. Some better duvets and zip and link beds would make it all the better. Overall really good.
My wife and I have just returned from a lovely week here with our daughter, son-in-law and grandchild, The cottage was perfect with 3 double bedrooms in quiet location, rear garden and parking backing onto cricket field on the edge of the historic town of Rye. The master bedroom has en suite WC and the family bath/shower room is on the ground floor. It is well equipped with kitchen appliances and baby's high chair and travel cot. it has an enclosed garden suitable for eating out / BBQs, the cricket field is open for any ball games / exercise and a children's play area and sports centre/pool ar...more
welcome pack -ok Beds very standard glasses -just about ok Pity no Armchairs Showers lack power
A lovely house shame it's down a long industrial road, could do with a full length mirror , a non stick fry pan & a flexible spatula for the fry pan , otherwise it was great for a short stay with rye down the road & the nature reserve & William the Conqueeor pub 5mins away
On the whole, this is a nicely presented, comfortable cottage in a pretty setting and we did have a lovely holiday. There's plenty to do in the local area and so the cottage makes an excellent base for day trips. However, we rent holiday cottages 3-4 times a year in the UK and Europe and consider ourselves to be experienced "self caterers" and would say that for the price point there are a number of aspects which let it down. Firstly, there were a number of kitchen items not provided which we would consider to be basics e.g. small knives for chopping vegetables, a cheese grater, a measuring ju...more
The owner had freshly baked a cake and left it on the kitchen table for when we arrived, together with fresh flowers in a vase. How good is that? Property very well equipped. Good wi-fi connection. Excellent location for Bluebell Railway, Standen House (NT) & Forest Way for walking/cycling (amongst others). The only possible downside - the second bedroom isn't really big enough for two adults.
A very nice property, every thing you needed was there. it is a three storey property so if you have difficulty with stairs bear this in mind. Emsworth has plenty to offer & very pretty by the water. Would book again if in the area.
We loved staying at Little Timbers. The property has so much charm and is in a lovely location, close to the beach. The garden space was great for the kids. We would go back.
We booked to stay 4 nights as our daughter was getting married near by,mr moor greated us and showed us around,he was very pleasant and helpful.the cottage is beautiful we all fell in love with it and wished we could stay longer.
A good central place for visiting National Trust and other properties. Near the National Cat Centre where they had free WiFi which we needed.
Beautiful little apartment, big enough for two people, could not fault it for cleanliness and comfort, though the settee was a bit hard on one's back. Bedroom was quirky, very comfortable bed, and there was everything you needed in the kitchen . With beautiful views and plenty of restaurants three minutes walk away, this was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Cosy accommodation for two with own entrance and small garden. Dog walks from the house along public footpaths with views of the Bluebell Railway. Owners made us feel very welcome.
A very well presented property and the owner was most welcoming. Very well positioned for enjoying Petworth and the surrounding area.
A well equipped and comfortable lodge. A good location with easy access to the coast and villages. Although it did not bother us too much, some mention of heavy traffic noise at peak times should be made in the property description.
Inside the cottage is cosy and finished to a high standard. Both bathrooms have fantastic powerful showers! I only gave comfort good not excellent as inside there was only room to seat 5 people to watch a film (a 3 seater sofa and two chairs) but it can sleep 6. Outside there was a nice patio area and large table with chairs but the property is not quite finished and it was a shame the grass area is like a ploughed field, full of ruts and the driveway isnt fully finished ( it looks like another property is being built 100yrds or so away but no building was done while we were they so it was sti...more
What a wonderful week we had. Beautiful property, exceptionally clean, very friendly owners. The kids loved the space to run around in the garden and we loved the style and design. We will be back :-)
Overall our stay was good. The cottage is spacious with an excellent garden and in a good location. The kitchen is nice and has a good open plan feel. However, there were a few issues and much room for improvement. The entire cottage requires a deep clean - there were a lot of cobwebs and a lot of short pet hairs on furnishings. The beds in the two downstairs bedrooms were uncomfortable and the beds in the twin room are really just foldout camp beds. The games room is great but the sofas are in terrible condition. Okay value for money - it's a good size and location but would expect it to be...more
Our second stay - great location for the coast and inland to the South Downs. Very comfortable and well equipped.
The property was in a lovely location but was let down by lack of upkeep and general cleanliness.Lounge area very worn, settees and soft furnishings in need of refurbishment, cobwebs in bedrooms and stairway.Outside area overgrown and also in need of repair and a good tidy up.In its favour bedding and towells of good quality and comfortable beds.Television reception more or less non existent due to aerial being covered by overhanging branches.wifi did not work during the week we were there.
We had an enjoyable stay at Beach Reach. It was great to be able to go straight on to the beach with our grandaughter. The house was comfortable and warm with sufficient equipment to make for an easy life. The addition of flowers, wine and crisps provided a homely feel. The location was only spoiled by traffic noise from early morning each day, some of which made the whole cottage vibrate. Overall we had a relaxing weeks break.
Stayed for 5 nights in May 2017 - good stay overall and owners were flexible about adding an extra night after our initial booking which was excellent. Comfy double beds, relaxing living area and good showers. Small but well equipped kitchen but was just big enough to cater for the four adults and baby in our group. A few things worth noting for future guests: 1/ There is no freezer in the cottage. Probably OK for most but worth mentioning as we had expected there to be one available. 2/ The cottage is inside the grounds at Deerleap, so you will be sharing the gate with the driveway of...more
Clean(thank you),comfortable and well equipped cottage. Owners vey welcoming and helpful. Four adults and a dog had an enjoyable winter break.
A real bolt hole - just right for a weekend away. Lovely decor and facilities. Parking is what you would expect for the narrow streets of Hastings Old Town - limited and the car park charges between 7am-9pm and is often full. Niggles really - over all a great weekend retreat.
Courtyard Cottage was lovely. Two very comfortable spacious bedrooms and nicely furnished. The cottage is set in beautiful grounds and there is a small courtyard with table and chairs. The kitchen is small but adequate for a family of four. This property states it is not suitable for young children and I believe that is due to it's close proximity to a very busy main road. However, the road noise is not a problem in the cottage but it is not easy to walk in the local area.
We loved this cottage, the perfect bolt hole whilst visiting our newborn Grandson. The Owners were very helpful but discreet.
We booked a last minute stay at Appletree Cottage in May whilst touring Kent and East Sussex, everything was perfect. Quick, easy and helpful booking. The cottage is in a great location to visit nearby National Trust and English Heritage properties, Winchelsea, Rye, Battle, Tenterden, Batemans...great walks in and around the local woods & countryside.....so much to see and do as well as relax in the lovely garden. Great little village pubs nearby with good food. The cottage was clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you need & private parking off road.
Really down-to-earth, genuinely dog-friendly owners, and a lovely little characteristic cottage. Beautiful grounds, immediate access to South Downs along picturesque country lanes and the cottage had everything we needed. The condition of the cottage for us was excellent but I've put good because it's a down-to-earth, characteristic wee place that caters for wet, muddy walkers and pets so I don't want to put 'excellent' and have people thinking it's the Hilton because it's not. We'd have hated it if it were that. It's for people who come and go. You don't feel as if you're going to get fined i...more
this is a delightful find if you want peace and quiet away from everyone. unfortunately the grass around the property was too long and there were brambles coming up through the steps on the verandah and it was very musty inside when we got there, but after opening some windows and cutting back the brambles it was great!! there were quite a lot of spiders and webs, but that is to be expected in the middle of a field!! (but we do think it had not been aired for a few days prior to our arrival hence the webs!!) the furnishings are beautiful and a lot of thought has gone into the property and i...more
This is an office conversion loçated between a bakery and a printers. There is loud noise from 6am with deliveries and movement sufficient to wake us. They need to invest in quality pillows with pillow covers for guest those provided were cheap and nasty. There were commercial bins for businesses against the cottage there was a heatwave and we couldn't open the door for air because of them. The cooker was dirty. The basin was dusty not cleaned for some time. The blinds were dirty too. All in all this is entirely in the wrong place amogst commerce.
Modern house well equipped. Shame about the limited parking. In general house style suits only 2 adults and kids due to only one shower and small kitchen/dining area. Office/lounge extension was a plus.
Comfortable cottage in a quiet location close to the picturesque village of Buriton. For walkers this is an ideal location with plenty of footpaths accessible from the cottage. For touring by car there is easy access to major routes. The only negative comment is the size of the shower at the property, if you are a large person you would probably experience some difficulty using this facility. A bit of a let down in an otherwise well appointed cottage.
Location brilliant and cottage good xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxccccxxxxcccccccccccccccc
With someone living below, we found it almost impossible to walk across the hard wood floor quietly. A carpet or large rug in the bedroom would have been very helpful. In the kitchen some basic items we have normally found in other properties were not available. A washing up bowl, hand-wash, small sharp knife for preparing dishes (the very large sharp kitchen knives were too clumsy) and a microwave. We were not sure whether the one towel in the kitchen was intended for drying dishes or drying hands..
External renovations at property very good. Internal condition average at best and quality of renovation poor and tatty. Cleaning only just acceptable, lots of large, dusty cobwebs. On arrival absolutely NO effort had been made to provide a welcome. One half-finished box of tea bags and a congealed centimetre of coffee in a filthy jar along with an odd assortment of 4 or 5 old groceries in the cupboard... out-of date Bisto among them. 2 toilet rolls were left on the kitchen counter, not even hung in the bathrooms. The worst bit though was the appalling tone of the myriad 'orders' and t...more
The location was great but when I arrived, the toilet wasn't cleaned properly. Fortunately, this was rectified by the owner but when discussing over the phone, it seemed like I was being accused that I could possibly be lying. It was slightly dusty and a lot of cobwebs about. It seemed like it was just given a quick clean but not thoroughly.
