Dalraddy Holiday Park was established in 1968. It covers 39 hectares of what was originally heather moor land. The park currently contains 82 fully serviced traditional static holiday caravans, 6 fully serviced wooden chalet style caravans, 67 fully serviced wooden chalets, 36 pitches for touring caravans and facilities for up to 50 tents making us one of the largest caravan and camping sites in the area. The park also sells static caravans and chalets and acts as a letting service for owners that includes cleaning.
Services on the park include a licensed shop; which provides a retail outlet for estate produce, acts as a booking agent for activities and has a computer with free Wi-Fi. There is also a launderette, children's play park and a recently refurbished central toilet block with under- floor heating.
There are an array of activities to enjoy which are available on the Alvie and Dalraddy estate such as Quad biking,1.5 km zip wire course, horse riding, fishing, gorge walking, paintball, bush craft survival courses, clay pigeon shooting, archery and stag feeding. You can even learn about the environment and history of the estate by enjoying a guided tour .
We stayed at chalet 31 for a week in August. We loved staying there it is a beautiful chalet in a beautiful location, the views across to the mountains is stunning. The chalet is very nicely laid out inside and very well equipped. The owners have it very nicely furnished and allow you to use some of their own personal equipment ( bikes, bbq, parasol, soft ball rackets etc) which is very nice of them. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need. It even has a dishwasher and washing machine. My brother inlaw loved the sauna and whirpool bath it made his week. We were delighted to ...more
The chalet is very good indeed, though the trees to the south need to go, to get any sort of view.
We had major problems with the booking system and subsequent customer service from the Park staff.
The chalet was booked on line in November 2016 for a Friday to Friday occupation in mid August 2017. it was of particular interest to us as it was the only chalet to offer Friday to Friday, and several other weeks had already been booked on that basis. Two other couples had arranged to share it with us starting on the Friday, we and made travel plans accordingly. The deposit was paid as per th...more
I think the title of this review says it all. Fantastic facility in a lovely location. The chalet has everything you need, and more, for a break and the area has plenty of activities to keep you occupied for weeks.
We were camping, and the pitches were quite far away from the static caravans down near the reception area. That suited us fine – each pitch was secluded by pine trees and sizeable enough to take a couple of small tents plus a car. Toilets (in a new portacabin) weren't too far, but no shelves or shaver sockets. Lights went on a night, but seemed to be off during the day, and with only one window, the gents was a bit dark. Electric showers are here too. We didn't try them, opting for the power showers near to reception. Would have liked to see a washing up area closer to the tent pitches. That ...more
Weather was not on our side. The local area is spectacular regardless. Plenty to see and do. Third time we have camped here. Toilets spotless, we used the portacabin facilities. Showers worked very well with plenty hot water, just maybe a bit more cleaning around the sink area within the shower section. Will be back next year.
We have stayed in this lodge a few times as love the scandi look and individual design. Fab views too. It looks a little tired in parts and could do with basics supplied inc an iron and board etc. This wouldn't put us off though and would definitely stay again.
From the welcome, the pitch to the facilities - all excellent. Reception was helpful and friendly and the little shop seemed to stock the basics plus some souvenirs. Reception also had local tourist info. Our pitch situated amongst silver birch trees giving some natural privacy. There were a mix of touring pitches and static caravans in amongst the trees. The toilet and shower block was close by. It was spotless - was being cleaned when we arrived. The ladies had an older and newer wet room style area but both were good. There was a hairdryer in the newer section. I am told the gents area was ...more
