We were at a wedding at the Millhouse just near the River Boyne, so the location was perfect. Rock Farm was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and beautifully peaceful.
Lime House is a unique place worth to visit when you are in the Boyne Valley, just 40 kms away from Dublin. Carina was an excellent host as well as the rest of the state staff. Located next to the banks of the river Boyne offers magnificent views of Slane village, Slane Castle and the state farmland that includes forests. The place is spotless, spacious, modern and eco-friendly. Bedroom is excellent and beautifully decorated. Kitchen was well equipped and very convenient for meals and breakfast. Dining area and living room are large, cozy and with great views. I would definitely go back and ...more
We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations nor the the service approach from our host. We would return in a heartbeat. And probably will, but we'll bring a lot more friends next time.
We managed to sneak in a night's stay due to a cancellation, the last day we were in Ireland. Our entire family wished we had been able to stay longer. The weather was perfect; the grounds were spectacular, and our tent was lovely. If we come back to the Slane area, we will definitely be coming back and staying longer.
Superb two nights away, with our 2 year old. Perfect safe enviroment with plenty of animals to see and walks to go on. Yurts were snug and cosey especially with the stove lit. Cant fault the place especially for family get aways.
Perfect surroundings. Great activities provided. Staff were lovely. Lots of rooms to choose from. Great kitchen and dining facilities.
We were lucky to have the place to ourselves and extended family but no matter whos there the facilities are excellent the options for open Fires are everywhere which was a great focus of entertainment for all the family.... Roasting mashmallows and great conversation. The main shared cooking facilities are great and the staff are very helpful.
Very pleasant and welcoming staff in the clean and well maintained campsite. The communial areas of kitchen, shower block were all very well equipped. The only downside is that the Friday night we stayed had two hen parties. One much more respectful of children being around than the other. Obviously this is not within Rock Farms control but it might be good to have a designated party campsite and separate family one so that families and kiddies can sleep. Overall lovely stay and we will return.
We enjoyed a wonderful family visit to this really lovely retreat. Its a really clean and peaceful place which lends itself perfectly to unwinding and enjoying each others company without any distractions
Great staff, very helpful and the cabin itself was as expected although quite a distance from the main road once in the gate. All in all great stay and staff were very nice.
We spent 2 nights in one of the yurt and it was raining for most part of it. Nevertheless we enjoyed the place as it was not only clean but very pretty and cosy. The owner was very kind and waited fo our out-of-hours arrival and showed us around without being too intrusive. We have nothing 'bad' to comment on but it's good to be aware of what they have and what they don't. It is all written in their website so none of this info is any surprise. They don't have any wifi and there is only 2 toilets on the glamping site. The shower rooms are for unisex use hence it might not be for you if you...more
We really loved The little apple shep hut, it was very clean and nice. The staff was also very friendly. Bikes were very good even though we couldn't use them much for the weather. There were little things that you need to improve though. The hot tub was a bit dirty and freezing cold when we used it, because the fire wasn't properly lid and we bought the pizza dough, but we struggled a lot to lid the fire with wet woods. It was very painful, you should provide better resources to do that. proper paper, dry woods and an oven, even a small portable one, in case the weather is terrible (for us wa...more
We really enjoyed our stay, such a lovely spot with a really nice feel about it. The only thing I would say, that maybe better signage on the site would be helpful, as we got a bit confused working out whats where. Other than that, would love to come again.
We had a great trip, and the accommodation was what we expected. Only area for improvement is the shower - it wasn't working properly and the temperature control needs attention.
We had a big group of single parents with offspring and our stay was fabulous. Our tent was very cosy and comfortable, perfect for one adult and two kids, with lovely fairy lights and a gas heater which we didn't need. La Grand Tent had a few leaks - discovered on a very rainy night - but they didn't cause any harm, and I was told they will be fixed. All in all our experience in Rock Farm was excellent. Very helpful and friendly staff, clean facilities, loads of space for kids to run around.
Rock Farm accommodation was actually nice & spacious. However the process of booking, paying, checking in and checking out were all haphazard at best and simply baffling at times. We stayed in Boyne Meadow which was a large room and shared a good bathroom with one other room. These have a lobby so a family would happily have both rooms as a suite. Our room had too good single beds and another trestle style bed. In general everything was clean and comfortable. On arrival at the gate, having let them know what time we would be arriving, we waited at the gate for 10 minutes waiting to be ...more
A beautiful farm with lovely healthy animals , stayed in le Tipi which was very nice apart from the flies flying around the inside,The only complaint i had was the foul smelly fridge in the kitchen that needs to be cleaned so badly and tea towels need to be provided clean every day to order to dry dishes in a hygienic way, and kitchen floor washed.
We love Rock Farm Slane. The food, the people and the creative farming going on. The tent was great, just a little small for the 3 of us, but the weather was fantastic, so we were hardly in there at all. :) We met lovely people and had the best chats.
