We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations nor the the service approach from our host. We would return in a heartbeat. And probably will, but we'll bring a lot more friends next time.
We were at a wedding at the Millhouse just near the River Boyne, so the location was perfect. Rock Farm was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and beautifully peaceful.
We managed to sneak in a night's stay due to a cancellation, the last day we were in Ireland. Our entire family wished we had been able to stay longer. The weather was perfect; the grounds were spectacular, and our tent was lovely. If we come back to the Slane area, we will definitely be coming back and staying longer.
We were flexible with our time and were told it would be quieter going Sunday-Tuesday, which we did! My 15 year old and I had stayed last year too, so we took a friend with us this time. The booking procedure over the phone was professional and accommodated the fact we'd been before! There was ample enough space for the 3 of us in the yew yurt. It was clean, tidy and very inviting. I had booked a pizza pack and the brekkie pack for our stay. Again, like last year, there was plenty of fresh, tasty food provided for the 3 of us (and it was very good value!). The hot tub was a bonus after our 10...more
Perfect surroundings. Great activities provided. Staff were lovely. Lots of rooms to choose from. Great kitchen and dining facilities.
Great facilities in a beautiful location. Really lovely campsite. I stayed in a Shepherds Hut which was very cosy and warm with a wood burning stove. The staff were all really helpful with directions and recommendations. I was able to hire an electric bike and book on a tour of Newgrange with them. Would really recommend this place to anyone wanting to escape for a few days. The wood fired hut tub was also fantastic. Thanks a lot for a great stay!
Went with family and friends and really did switch off from the world! We love the outdoors and were pretty lucky with the weather for the weekend it was- really enjoyed it can't wait to go again :)
We had a fantastic time at Rock Farm, the kids had a ball on the swing, the walk was lovely, we enjoyed toasting marshmallows and loved the yurt.
Spent two nights glamping in Rock Farm with 14 friends. We all had a wonderful time. Glamping is different to usual hotel experience and people must be prepared for that. The only negative was the compost toileting............everyone would have preferred a normal flushing loo!!!!
Truly unique stay in antiquated intimate surroundings. Tasteful, cosy interior. Would definitely recommend to close friends or a couple looking to escape to nature.
Just spent a fantastic two nights at Rock Farm. My two boys aged 6 and 14 thoroughly loved the experience. It is usually so difficult to find something they both enjoy so this was definitely a first. The yurt was spotlessly clean and cosy. Shower blocks and kitchen area excellent also. We will most definitely be returning.
We really enjoyed our stay, such a lovely spot with a really nice feel about it. The only thing I would say, that maybe better signage on the site would be helpful, as we got a bit confused working out whats where. Other than that, would love to come again.
We had a great trip, and the accommodation was what we expected. Only area for improvement is the shower - it wasn't working properly and the temperature control needs attention.
We had a big group of single parents with offspring and our stay was fabulous. Our tent was very cosy and comfortable, perfect for one adult and two kids, with lovely fairy lights and a gas heater which we didn't need. La Grand Tent had a few leaks - discovered on a very rainy night - but they didn't cause any harm, and I was told they will be fixed. All in all our experience in Rock Farm was excellent. Very helpful and friendly staff, clean facilities, loads of space for kids to run around.
Rock Farm accommodation was actually nice & spacious. However the process of booking, paying, checking in and checking out were all haphazard at best and simply baffling at times. We stayed in Boyne Meadow which was a large room and shared a good bathroom with one other room. These have a lobby so a family would happily have both rooms as a suite. Our room had too good single beds and another trestle style bed. In general everything was clean and comfortable. On arrival at the gate, having let them know what time we would be arriving, we waited at the gate for 10 minutes waiting to be ...more
A beautiful farm with lovely healthy animals , stayed in le Tipi which was very nice apart from the flies flying around the inside,The only complaint i had was the foul smelly fridge in the kitchen that needs to be cleaned so badly and tea towels need to be provided clean every day to order to dry dishes in a hygienic way, and kitchen floor washed.
We love Rock Farm Slane. The food, the people and the creative farming going on. The tent was great, just a little small for the 3 of us, but the weather was fantastic, so we were hardly in there at all. :) We met lovely people and had the best chats.
