We had an amazing two weeks at Eilean Feoir - even the weather was excellent! The property is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and extremely well equipped. Alistair and Janet were very friendly and helpful and the booking via Steadings went very smoothly. We have already booked our next visit. Thank you.
This awesome house is on a large lot with beautiful views across the Sound of Mull to the Isle of Mull. House was clean, well equipped, and fully prepared for our arrival. Could not ask for more. It is obvious by the personal touches care that this house is loved by its owners, who also use it as their vacation home. If you are headed to Kilchoan, stay here. In addition, the Kilchoan Hotel, just down the road, had great food and a friendly staff and patrons.
We have just had our second stay at the lovely Smithy house. Local to Everything you need Ferry, Kilchoan, hotel, lighthouse, beaches, fresh eggs a walk away. It doesn't stop there. The house is opposite the stunning view of Mull. The beds are so comfy I don't know if you sleep so well from sea air or comfort. We will be back for sure.
Lovely accommodation in a beautiful location. We had a great time and wished that we could have stayed for longer. The local shop is very well stocked. A visit to the lighthouse is a must and there is a lovely cafe there too. The food at the Kilchoan Hotel was excellent and the staff were very welcoming. The hotel is only a short walk from The Byre.
It was a fab place to be and a really great house - just such a shame re the cleanliness! The dishwasher was not clean, the floors swept but only really in the main areas (pretty grim around the edges and under sofas etc). Expected it not to be a shiny house but it was a bit of a shame...!
We loved everything about Rudh Dubh; the property is absolutely charming and very comfortable as well as extremely well-equipped. The location is second to none, with stunning views from the windows and a sun deck to enjoy the fine weather. I had expected that it would be a bit basic, but in fact it's luxurious, even the sofa bed is really comfortable. As described, there's no mobile signal which we would consider a plus, and it does feel wonderfully peaceful and isolated. It's true that a small number of people pass by the rear of the cottage on the footpath to Sanna, but we thought that ...more
As a regular to Ardnamurchan enjoyed another great adventure albeit the weather was pretty wet second week. That said this is why we take rain jackets and shorts on every visit. The cottage was nice only additions needed would be on arrival some starter hand soap, larger bowls for crockery in kitchen and ice cube tray in freezer for a cheeky gin Be great if the sonachan hotel gets going again as a walking alternative for folks in portuirk - could the community not collaborate and take it over as a social enterprise ..? Fab place - whatever the weather..
We had a lovely time a comraich the accommodation was good and In a great location, it was really peaceful and quite and would really have liked to stay another week. The only downside was the bed mattresses could really be doing with renewal, the bathrooms were excellent and nice and clean. The kitchen was very well equipped. The dog loved the garden even if it was a bit overgrown in parts, we loved sitting out each evening watching the wildlife and even spotted a sea eagle on our last day. The highlight of our holiday was at sanna beach on a glorious sunny day. Even though the journey was lo...more
Cleanliness of the house was excellent and it is well-appointed but you only score "good" due to the dog poo in the garden. There was a friendly enough dog, presumably belonging to a neighbour, who visited frequently. Location is excellent with wonderful views and easy access to the hill behind but the problem is the steep, rutted and pot-holed one-third of a mile access track which made us reluctant to take the car in and out more than absolutely necessary. Hence you only score a "good". We made good use of the pedestrian short-cut to the road through the garden. Notwithstanding the above ...more
Oh blimey where to start! So, I'd visited the Ardnimachuran Peninsula the previous year and fell in love with the area. That stay had seen me make a snap decision to visit (camping in a tent) because I'd enough funds and found myself with time to spare. Following the hasty trip last year, I decided to visit again but with a better roof over my head. A static caravan was needed but funds are always low and so I chose what was cheaper but still good enough to be let via an agency. I found Colins Caravan through that criteria. We all know that cheap doesn't necessarily mean good but the sta...more
The lighthouse is an amazing location. Rugged and remote, yet with al the comforts you need for a weeks holiday. The accommodation is weel equipped and has everything you need.
The lodge is really well equipped and the location is stunning. Local food from the community garden is great value for money and delicious. They do bread too, which is also delicious. Don't rely on the ferry shop for anything except milk.
Had a lovely time in what is our favourite holiday location. Cottage comfortable and well equipped and with the most fantastic view. Steading holidays provide excellent customer service .
It was such a lovely weekend and the accommodation was great. A wonderful place to go for a weekend and catch up with old friends.
I have been visiting Kilchoan for many years and this is the third time I have stayed in this property. It is comfortable and has a good outlook both front and back. The house is much nicer inside than it looks from the outside photos with a bright open plan living/dining/kitchen. The porch provides good shelter for bikes.
Lovely cosy cottage with everything you need, good garden and location on a quiet lane. Great for launching a boat. Use the veg delivery service they offer, fantastic veg and supports community
Another fantastic stay at Jacks Ranch. Perfect for two family's of four. Deceptively spacious with plenty of room on rainy days. Ideally located close to all the amenities, yet in a very peaceful setting. Looking forward to returning.
Yet another lovely week despite in Portuairk! So nice to have an open fire on the cooler evenings. Already looking forward to next year!
We had a great week staying at the Saltings, in Kilchoan. Lodge is very well equipped with plenty of space for the family, and the large enclosed garden was a real bonus for the dog. It's only a short walk to the Kilchoan Hotel (for good pub grub) and to the local store (for any essentials you may have forgotten to bring). Really well located with Sanna beach and Ardnamurchan lighthouse each about 15 minutes drive away, and Mull is easily reached by the regular ferry. Be prepared for no Wi-Fi, and a patchy phone signal.
