Valentine’s House is a charming holiday home in the heart of the conservation area of the pretty Georgian town of Deal. The house has a rich history and has been named after one of the first residents Valentine Myhill, who was living in the house in 1841. The son of a prestigious Cinque Ports Pilot, he unfortunately lost both his parents at a young age and went to sea at the age of 15. The full story of his life and the other residents of the house has been left for guests who enjoy history.
The house is still full of character but has been transformed into a stylish and comfortable holiday home with a mid-century feel. Set over four floors with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a downstairs toilet, the star attraction of the house is the fabulous roof terrace with fantastic views across the Conservation area. Situated in a quiet side street just 2 minutes walk from the main promenade and beach, Valentine’s House is also just a few yards from the buzzing high street with its delis, boutique shops, antiques shops, cafes and restaurants.
Deal Castle and the Pier are only a 5 minutes stroll along the promenade and further coastal walking takes you through Walmer and Kingsdown to the lovely Zetland Arms, one of the few UK public houses on a beach, with views of the iconic white cliffs. Walking in the other direction along the coast you will walk past some of the most prestigious links golf courses in England and almost deserted beaches.
