My family of five were welcomed by the cheerful Anne -- after several months of eager anticipation between actually booking the Longhouse in May and taking the ferry across to the island in August. The Longhouse is a short drive from Stornaway, in view of the sea and turns out to be just as beautiful as the island's landscape, historical -- and prehistorical -- sights. My wife and I, and the three youngsters with us, aged 25, 23 and 17, just loved being in the Longhouse.
