We had a wonderful stay. The view from the main room got our day off to a great start. The house had everything we needed and the location was terrific for day trips to Westport, Clifden, and more.
We booked this accommodation because of the connemarathon en stayed here with two young children. After a long nightly journey from Dublin, the arrival was warm with home-made bread, wine and a filled refridgerator. The location was perfect in the middle of the centre. One, minor, detail could be the heating/cooling systems on the roof which might prevent you from opening the window during the night), however we did not find it very disturbing.
Our three-generation family of ten booked Pooreen House for two weeks in August, 2017. We couldn’t have been more pleased! The house sits on a slight rise above the surrounding hillside, with an expansive view across Galway Bay to the Aran Islands, the Burren, and the County Clare coast as far south as the cliffs of Moher. The owner met us on arrival to give a tour of the house, demonstrating appliances, electrical and heating systems. Throughout our stay, he was kind and attentive, though unobtrusive. First impressions: house and furnishings immaculate, and impeccably maintained. Lar...more
We stayed in this apartment during the Clifden Arts Festival and everything about the apartment was excellent. Location was great, as we were in walking distance of everything. The apartment was spotless, the kitchen was very well equipped and the beds were so comfy, made our stay in Clifden very enjoyable. Would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment.
We would really recommend this property which is very well presented with lovely touches such as candles, paintings, good quality sheets, kitchen with lots of delf and gadgets. the sitting room has a lovely view to the street and mountains. Clifden is great spot with really good bars and restaurants and the property is right in the centre of the town with own parking spot.
A most relaxing place to while away the day with views to soothe and make you smile. The house was very well equipped and Bernie very welcoming. Thank you Stella, Alan & Betty
We have been going to Connemara for a number of years and this is without doubt the best house we have stayed in. The layout and standard of the house is top classt, it is like a home away from home. The location is excellent, between Clifden and Letterfrack. The views from the house, and the deck at the back are stunning - water and Connemara National Park. The owners are a pleasure to deal with, courteous and caring. I would highly recommend this house.
Excellent position, friendly people, large & comfy spaces, well suited for two families. Great deal price, really appreciated. Suggested!
We have just finished a holiday at Turbot cottage and had a great time there - we really didn't want to come home. The cottage is situated at the neck of the isthmus at Ardmore and the setting couldn't have been better, with a clear view out across a beautiful tranquil inlet on one side with the Atlantic ocean pounding away on the other. It is the very last house along a small boreen or laneway and, as a result, there is a sense of privacy not often found in such beautiful location. It has uninterrupted views across the dramatic Ardmore headland where we enjoyed early morning walk every day ...more
I highly recommend this Town House to stay in.We a family of 5 had a wonderful time while there. The house was perfectly located in order to explore both Clifden itself(cultural events, beautiful shops, fine dining, traditional music etc) as well as Connemara. Both Yvonne and Robbie were most welcoming and helpful in every way and very thoughtfully had left a welcome pack of convenience groceries, milk, bread etc. This was greatly appreciated as we had travelled a long journey. All information was available to us in relation to current Clifden events as well as outdoor activities,sightseeing,walk...more
Having booked this at rather short notice communication was excellent and we found the cottage with a welcoming fire, spotlessly clean and even with some food supplies that we hadn't expected. It was ideal for us as we were seeking a quiet rural retreat to rest and take it easy. We loved the way the cottage had been renovated so tastefully and we slept wonderfully on the high quality mattress. Thank you Brid for being such a good host!
Dooneen is a fabulous rental home. It is spotlessly clean and provides all the comforts of home. It is akin to staying in someone's home (which it is) as opposed to staying in a holiday rental. Every aspect of the house has been well designed and there is plenty of space to relax and unwind. The facilities are outstanding and the quality of the furnishings is first class. The views of Clifden and the surrounding countryside are wonderful.
I stayed in the Arthouse twice over the summer period. Our party consisted of two adults and five children. The Arthouse met the needs of everyone in our party, with the gaming room proving a particular hit with the kids. The patio is a lovely feature. It is clean and comfortable, with a lovely bright and airy feel. This is by far our favourite place we have stayed in town over the years. We spend a lot of time on the beach or involved in outdoor pursuits so it was really great to return to such a cosy welcoming house. We all loved our stay and I would certainly recommend and hope to return in...more
Delighted with our stay. Geraldine was a lovely host and very kind to our little boy as was her son. He loved seeing the chickens, horse and cow! The location is great as was the view of over to Inisboffin - especially the sunsets! We were very lucky with the weather and took advantage of the nearby beaches. Overall it was a great break and we would thoroughly recommend the house and the peaceful locality! thank you!
We had a holiday to remember in the this beautiful part of Co Galway. Our hosts Sheila and Michel were lovely - attentive, welcoming and friendly. The location is remote next to the water with stunning views of the mountains and surrounded by cows, Connemara ponies, donkeys and sheep but close to the pretty fishing village of Roundstone with its painted houses, seafood bars and stunning beaches with crystal clear waters for fabulous swimming (Dogs & Gorteen Bays). We had a ball - thank you Sheila and Michael.
Fort Lodge is an amazing, ample house, wonderfully equipped and carefully maintained. The owners live right beside the house so they where available at all times. Co. Clare is not, however, the real thing when you compare it with the beauty of Connemara, 1.30 hours north.
This perfect house in a perfect location has everything necessary for a wonderful relaxing holiday in Connemara. From its choice of colour scheme, to its space and comfort. From its up to date appliances and it's scenic views from every window and its proximity to beaches, I couldn't fault it. I would recommend this property without hesitation.
Very enjoyable stay........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Superb location with stunning views right beside the sea. The house is large with picture windows looking out onto the sea. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. We spent Christmas there and when we arrived the house was decorated and the owner had put up a beautiful Christmas tree. He had also left logs and turf for the stove. So hepful and welcoming. Its a 10 minute walk to Cleggan village and about 15 minutes drive to Clifden. Highly recommend a visit.
Our stay at Derryinver House was wonderful. The views of the water were beautiful and could be seen from many places throughout the house. We enjoyed our short walk up to the village center and around the surrounding area. Marie and Charlie were always available to answer any questions we had. Thank you for the lovely accommodations.
Myself and my family had a wonderful stay at 2 harbour heights,we were more than happy with the location which was right in the center of Clifden, and the apartment was very clean, spacious and homely I would definitely recommend this place to a friend,we really enjoyed our stay in Connemara.
Dear Yvonne and Connemara Lettings team, we just returned home and the wonderful memories have not yet quite faded. Thank you VERY much for the "last minute" booking, the perfect stay, your kindness and the smooth transactions. We were quite happy to stay at 14 Clifden Glen and would always recommend it to other Clifden visitors, especially when travelling in a party of more people and with children. Thumbs up – in our case, that would make 12 of them ;-)
We absolutely loved the house, fab layout, location, bedding etc, and Connemara Lettings did a great job. Just a few small things - the toilets seem to clog quite easily, if that can't be fixed then a plunger would have been a great addition. And there were a few lights not working. And it would have been lovely if the bushes close to the house and outdoor table were well cut back to bring the garden into the house and into use more.
Swims before breakfast, long walks along the beaches, football and golf with the young ones on the common area, fishing if you're into it...no need to drive the car unless extra supplies needed! Couldn't have loved it more. Super accommodation. Cosy and in the most perfect location. Thanks for everything!
I stayed with a group at Capolla house, and found the house perfect for a get together. I did some baking and entertaining, the kitchen has everything you need (and a spotless oven), and the dining room is great for a group. The house is spotless, and overall very comfortable. It is a little walk from the town centre, which is a small negative if its very rainy.
Had a wonderful few days here. Such a fantastic location with the most beautiful views imaginable. Very close to Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, Clifden. Apartment is perfect for a couple with a small child..
The apartment is very comfortable. A home away from home. Very spacious with all mod cons in the centre of the village. I would highly recommend.
Owners very friendly, helpful and made us feel entirely welcome. We particularly appreciated the provisions "in situ" on the evening of arrival. The house was well equipped and comfortable. Plenty of hot water for our large party. Do ask for advice on how to use vacuum cleaner. Children friendly property and location. Memorable week enjoyed by all ages. Property fully delivered what it said on the tin.
Disappointed that most of the saucepans did not work on the induction hob and the pots that did work were of poor quality. Kitchen missing s number of items including orange squeezer. Houses were really nicely decorated and very clean, would return again but will need to bring a tumble dryer and pots and pans.
Truly a comfortable and wonderful house to rent for two weeks. The views from the living and dining room were beautiful and I didn't mind cooking in the big kitchen!
We visited the cottage with our son,his wife and three boys --age 10,9 and 1. The cottage was very comfortable and the accomodation was spacious and we were able to all enjoy the week together living there. The introduction book was easy to follow and we knew how everything worked and we were all pleased to have wifi. We were also delighted to have a stair gate as the little one would have spent all his time trying to climb the stairs ! The garden outside was great and the bigger boys had plenty of room to play football and run around. They were pleased to have horses in the field behind and...more
We liked Helen's Hideaway so much that this is already our second visit. The apartment is spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so ideal for 2 couples or a family. It's got everything you need including lots of lovely fluffy towels and luxurious bedding. But what makes this property so special is the location. It's tucked away on the ground floor of a large house, with views over the estuary. Whether you are sitting enjoying the sun on the terrace (which in theory is possible the whole day but it is Ireland) or relaxing in the apartment, it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere when ...more
house is large with large bedrooms and other communal areas. 2 bathrooms plus three bedrooms with shower and one more shower room upstairs. lovely views from all bedrooms, and rooms downstairs. The dining area is suitable for 10+ people and the table extends to accommodate that number. (I contacted the owner to ask if it would seat 10 people and they said another table could be moved in but, as it turned out, there is no need once the central 'leaf' has been used.) The kitchen was 'tatty round the edges' but serviceable with trim coming off cupboards etc. The pots/pans/cutlery/glasses etc are ...more
Very comfortable big house with plenty room and very friendly within walking distance of town, big rooms, warm.
The house is in the perfect location to explore Connemara and it is close enough to walk in to Clifden to enjoy its pub and restaurants. The house has 3 good sized double rooms, a twin and a single room. The large open plan living area is perfect for a family holiday and the view is wonderful. We had a great time at Roisin's House and would recommend it for a large-family holiday in the West of Ireland.
Good location Grainne was very helpful House great Good video collection wifi excellent Beds comfortable
Property was comfortable and in a great position. Need a casserole dish. Cleanliness could have been better, crumbs on furniture and marks on TV/windows.
Aunty Bo's was a great house- so much space and really well equipped. We were a party of 4 adults and 5 kids staying for the week and the house worked really well for everyone. It's also very quiet so everyone managed to sleep well- no squeaky floor boards!! The location is great with lovely views and plenty of room in the garden. We would definitely like to have a repeat visit!
We found Whitethorn excellent value...Ideal family location ..only 3 miles from Cliften...house in great condition..very clean...our host was very helpful and hands on if we needed anything...highly recommended.
Only constructive comment is that some outdoor furniture would be great to enjoy the lovely view but sadly on our week the weather wasn't kind enough to allow this
The photos do not do this house justice. It feels like you are completely alone with gorgeous scenery and water views from the elevated terrace ( plus optional gnats!!) but in reality Clifden Main Street is a 5 minute drive away. beautifully presented house and very well equipped although you have to be a bit careful with the electrics ( don't use the washing machine and dryer at the same time ) enormous open plan kitchen special thanks to the nephew for quickly sorting out a few things and a big kiss to the beautiful Conemarra ponies up in the top paddock We travel a lot and have rented...more
Comfortable apartment, well appointed and well equipped. Ideal location both for facilities of the town and exploring beautiful Connemara. Clifden is a lovely, bustling town with plenty to occupy visitors. Would definitely return there and recommend it as a holiday location.
It was a wonderful place to stay. The cottage has a great sea- and mountain-view. The contact to the owner was uncomplicated. We enjoyed every day.
Some basic equipment needs updating*. WiFI is frustrating as it is an extension from main house and depends who is using it or how many persons are on it.Garbage/ bin collection needs more explanation. It would be helpful if there was a quick 'lady bird' information on very local beaches and how to get there, pubs* shops- might be helpful to foreign visitors? This is a very comfortable house. * descale kettle *a new ( Dyson , Hoover) needed- just to clean up!
Beautiful cottage with stunning views. Very friendly helpfull owner. We spent a great week in fushia cottage with our 3 children. They loved petting the donkeys, playing on the beach at omey island. Very relaxing holiday. We were very lucky and had lots of sunny days. Great location for day trips. Glasslian beach, kylemore abbey, clifden, dogs and gurtern bay.
Excellent, spacious property in a great location for touring Connemara. Property was clean, well maintained and great for our party of couples and kids. The property was also dog-friendly (which was the reason we picked this one).
Pluses: Centre of town location, which was really good. Spacious town house with car parking underground - a lift up and down. Well arranged modern kitchen, good dining space and lounge area - kitchen is in the middle of the whole large room, which is a good idea. Lots of crockery and pans, could do with more cutlery and another roasting tin - there is only 1. Bedroom No.1 is large with an ensuite with Jacuzzi bath and separate shower - good storage space, lots of drawers and a wardrobe + bedside tables with drawers. Bedroom 2 is smaller, with a bath and shower. Minuses: TV not working...more
Excellent accommodation, excellent location, owners were very accomodating and friendly. Would recommend with no hesitation - I would book again if back in the future .
Dolan Cottage was an excellent house to stay in. It was very clean, all necessary household equipment was present and made our stay very comfortable. It was a warm, cosy house with excellent views. The owner, Jimmy Ridge, was very welcoming, he met us and brought us to the house and showed us around. He returned on the day we were leaving to thank us for renting his house. The house was centered between Roundstone village and Clifden. The beaches were fabulous, the food in local restaurants, Mitchell's in Clifden and the bakery, Walsh's in Clifden was gorgeous. Local people were very friendly...more
A very nice house, an excellent location and what views! You're practically eating your breakfast two steps away from the horses.
Loved the location and the house. Will almost certainly return to same place. Only downside is 1 bathroom for larger groups sharing is difficult. Also one bed is a queen size - cramped for 2 adults. Otherwise best location I've ever stayed in!!!
very nice, close to all amenities perfect for group weekends away, the rooms are spacious, kept very clean, it has what you want in terms or facilities, highly reconmend it
The town house was superbly situated right in the town centre exactly what we asked for .it also had everything we needed .bed were very comfy .view was spectacular. And I have booked again for next year.
We really enjoyed our stay at Grace's Cottage. The house itself is in a fantastic location - a perched position looking out on Connemara National Park - fabulous unspoilt views. It's also close to the ferry to Inishboffin, which we made use of. It's a quiet remote rural location, which is a drive to the nearest shops or towns (4-5 km to Clifden or Letterfrack), but that suited us. The nearest beach (Ross Beach) was a 15-20 minute walk down quiet country roads with plenty to distract kids along the way - ponies, wild flowers, etc. The quiet roads are also perfect for an early morning ru...more
Great location overlooking the ocean but very handy for Clifden, golf club and local beaches. House very nice and spacious. A little old fashioned!! Nice garden but you need to be careful of fast cars outside gate.
The family celebrated my mother's 90th birthday with a weekend stay in Murlach Lodge. It was a fantastic venue with plenty of room for everyone and lots of space to hang around in the house. Would recommend it for a family gathering!
Le cottage est idéalement situé.Nous avons adoré la vue,et les propriétaires sont adorables.Cependant il manque beaucoup de vaisselles et de quoi faire à manger.
Very happy with our recent stay at this property. The house was lovely and an ideal location to the town. I would only say that if it is Triple Rooms that are booked there should be x3 beds in the bedroom to cater to this. Extra seating should also be provided to cater to numbers e.g. at breakfast/dinner etc. The starter pack provided was a lovely touch and made relevant to the reason for our stay. Maybe some extra keys to the front door as people were coming and going at different times. I would be very happy to stay at this house again in the future-great location. Thank you.
This has become one of my favourite places in Spiddal and I just can't stop myself from going back. I went out of my way to find a time when the cottage was not booked for this trip because I feel at home there. I have everything I need and I can easily walk to An Ceardlann Spiddal Craft Cottages where I get the most amazing gifts to take back home to Canada. Patsy is a delightful woman who goes above and beyond to make sure I have everything I need even when she is busy with other things. Her, or her family are always there if I need something. I also love the smell of the peat fire in the ev...more
We choose clifden as a base to visit all surrounding areas ,during our week we climbed diamond mountain ,visited inish boffin ,had great food and trad music in cleggan and cycled the sky road .we dined in clifden town most evenings which has a huge choice to pick from .A great enjobale holiday had by all
Wonderful time spent relaxing with our young family. Nothing was too much trouble for Olive the owner
We were happy with this house. Unfortunately the frying pans were not compatible with the induction hob and the owner didn't rectify this. Clothes horse was broken but this was replaced. Modern and clean and comfortable, great location for beaches. It would be great if the property had a dryer. I'd recommend staying here.
Lucy was very accommodating on our arrival. It's the perfect spot to rent with a group of friends with Clifden and it's local amenities close by. Some nice beaches not too far away too. Great value for money, extremely spacious and comfy house.
Glenbricken is superbly located 5 km from Clifden, overlooking a wonderful landscape of pastures, lakes and mountains. The owners are welcoming and always willing to help. The kitchen might have some more appliances, cutlery and the like to make it perfect.
The attention and care from the staff at the station house from check in to check out was just exceptional. The apartment was more like a house than an apartment there was one bedroom downstairs and two located upstairs. It was very spacious and safe, I've a 14 month old who was in her element exploring the place. Would highly recommend this great for families
Lovely place with very welcoming surroundings. Few minutes from the supermarkets, restaurants and shops of Clifden. Interesting idea that customers have to pay for their own electricity and Internet even which a rather high per night charge. Really enjoyed the stay, but will consider the cost next time.
3 day recent stay with family at Benshask. The house is spacious, clean and very well equipped and we were delighted that there were even some bikes available for use!. Unfortunately when we stayed there was a problem with the hot water and we had none for first 24 hours - although the agent was quick to respond, this was disappointing. The house is conveniently located close to Ballyconneely which is only a short drive from Clifden/Roundstone. Keogh's bar is good for food and the nearby beaches are incredibly beautiful.
Really enjoyed our stay .We had 4 children with us and there was plenty of room in the 3 bed apt.Great location in the heart of Cliften everywhere was just a short stroll away. The hotel and leisure centre being at our doorstep was a great advantage-helping to keep the kids busy despite the rain!
The location is perfect for families with small kids. Very friendly contact with housekeeper. Some furniture in the house was broken and the kitchen could need more equipment plus a BBQ outside would be a great addition. The thing we missed most was a dish washer. Still a great place but you need a a big group to make the full price worthwhile. As we had another price due to issues with the property we actually booked we really had value for our money and would definitely stay there again.
Great spot to stay. Very accessible to Clifden, Roundstone area yet far enough away to be restful. Scenery from front of cottage fabulous. Kitchen well equipped and clean. 2nd bedroom a little musty, bed not very comfy, but it is an old cottage. Plenty of space outside for children to play. Nice patio area with sunny aspect, if the weather is good. Would return.
Lovely location with stunning views. Whilst the property was a bit dated it was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for 2 families with children. Martha the owner was lovely- welcoming and helpful. Fantastic stay in a beautiful part of Ireland.
In general we found the flat to be comfortable and pleasant to stay in. We loved our trip to Connemara and would definitely come back to the area. Things we liked: Excellent location in the town. Less than 5 mins walk to pubs and restaurants. Very quiet and felt safe. We never heard any noise from any other flats above or next door. Spacious, nicely decorated and furnished - standard of furniture is excellent. The kitchen was well equipped with lots of pans, plates, glasses etc. Very good shower - powerful and lots of hot water. Secure parking is a real bonus. Welcome pack was an une...more
Overall I was very happy with the house. However there is a huge problem with damp in the downstairs bedrooms that should be addressed as this is causing the rooms to smell and inscets to appear. The damp is also rising up the main inner wall of the house which is also causing the upstairs rooms and wardrobes to smell. Also wifi should not be advertised as it hardly works even when the credit is added.
House is as pictured, generally bright, spacious, nice views, very comfortable beds and couches etc. Plenty of good towels, Fantastic location, walk to beach or village etc., central for longer outings around Connemara. Generally quite clean, but we had to wipe down kitchen worktops, drawers etc and there was a really greasy worktop grill that we took one look at then put in a drawer out of our sight. A few small things would make it really 5 star and help justify the price: enough toilet rolls; a welcome pack; a few good quality board games etc.; more serving bowls, jugs, food containers et...more
Pretty standard house - nothing special, but if you are not looking for anything special, then it is fine. We had a great week. Everything is there and works. Slightly pricey compared to a house we rented in Achill the week beforehand. The owner and the agency were very friendly and competent. The house is in the middle of a great area. The only disadvantage is that you need to get into the car to go anywhere. But I think this is the price to pay for the Ballyconeely peninsula. The road it is on is unpleasant to walk on, as it is a standard narrow windy west-of-Ireland road. But there is a LO...more
We know this part of the west coast very well and love it. The Cottage is very homely and clean and the views are beautiful. For us the bedrooms were too small, we were a party of 5 adults, one room has three bunk beds in it! The master bedroom is small too. I think it would be better suited to a family with small children. We have rented many different cottages in the area and felt this was expensive in relation to others, paying a premium for the location I guess. But we did very much enjoy our stay.
Coast guard cottages are ideal for a relaxing week by the sea. Great beach close by and close to golf club and other nice beaches.
