All excellent! The owner was very helpful and pleasant. Very neat and tidy bungalow in first class condition. Lovely location with views over Galway bay. Short walk to nearest beach and many other beaches to explore and a short drive into Galway. Could not ask for a better holiday location or nicer bungalow! And we had good weather!

We had such a lovely stay here that we decided to extend it. It's a very comfortable home from home and so close to the sea. John, the owner, is a gentleman and very accommodating. We'll definitely be back!

Very spacious, warm, spotless, well equiped house in a great location. Our party was comprised of 4 adults and 4 children. John the host was lovely and very welcoming and totally unobtrusive. He gave us a tour of the house and explained how everything worked. No issues with anything. Overall a very pleasant stay, would highly recommend the house (especially if children staying as the pool room and separate tv upstairs is brilliant) and we will be back.

We have never, ever complained about a holiday cottage in multiple years, but we did about this one. It was like renting a cottage in about 1975, and the heating didn’t work. Electricity was to be charged for at an uneconomic rate. Agency absolutely obnoxious. Avoid at all costs.

Connemara Holiday Lettings - Yvonne Flaherty replied more than 1 year ago
We are very surprised to have received a review of this nature regarding this popular holiday home. The photos and description of Pooreen House advertised on Connemara Holiday Lettings website is completely accurate. We see that you booked this holiday home directly through our website therefore you would have viewed the details and choose this holiday home over our 115 other listings on connemaralettings.ie. As per our telephone conversation and email yesterday, the owner confirmed that the heating system was working perfect. You contacted the owner the day after your arrival to inform him that you were leaving the property, you did not give the owner an opportunity to show you once again how the system operated. At no time did you contact our office to notify us that you had left the property. We received a telephone call from you yesterday (5 days later) informing us of the situation and requested a refund. It was clearly stated to you that you did not follow our complaints procedure stated in our Booking Conditions which you agreed to at the time of booking. As mentioned in our email, if we re-sell the dates we will reimburse you the difference. Pooreen House has been advertising with our company since February 2017 and during this time the property has received excellent reviews. Please see below some of the reviews we have received over the past years from Upfront Reviews, Booking.com & Airbnb to name but a few... Customer service is of Connemara Holiday Lettings upmost importance. We live in a very competitive world and appreciate that you would have had plenty of companies to choose from. By choosing our company you supported a small local based business in Connemara who employs local staff who is very committed and enthusiastic in providing an authentic experience. We always give personal attention to enhance our customers experience; hence, our rating on Upfront Reviews 97% of guests would recommend our company based on 667 reviews Property Reviews for Pooreen House, Invernin Upfront reviews 11/07/2019 5.0 /5.0 Beautiful home and views John is a very welcoming owner and his home is beautiful and warm. Thank you again to John for allowing my family to stay in his home so we could focus on having a great vacation. 26/08/2017 5.0 /5.0 – Spotless family-friendly home with large grounds and terrific sea views. Our three-generation family of ten booked Pooreen House for two weeks in August, 2017. We couldn’t have been more pleased! The house sits on a slight rise above the surrounding hillside, with an expansive view across Galway Bay to the Aran Islands, the Burren, and the County Clare coast as far south as the cliffs of Moher. The owner met us on arrival to give a tour of the house, demonstrating appliances, electrical and heating systems. Throughout our stay, he was kind and attentive, though unobtrusive. First impressions: house and furnishings immaculate, and impeccably maintained. Large windows in all rooms provided tremendous natural light, while heavy drapes in bedrooms can be drawn for privacy and darkness. The large kitchen is a joy to work in, flooded with light from north and west windows. The dining room seated us all easily; bath, shower and toilet facilities were ample. The adjacent sitting room with built-ins, TV, comfy recliners and electric fireplace afforded a snug reading or viewing spot. High chair, playpen and a protective gate to the stairs accommodated the children. The upstairs – three open rooms with couches, TV and billiards table illuminated by skylight windows – was a godsend as a play area for the little ones, and a movie and hurling-match theater for their parents. But our favorite space was the five-sided, cathedral-ceilinged solarium with huge windows facing east, south and west. What views, what light, what openness to the constant breeze! Outside, lawns and plantings were neat and carefully trimmed. Walls, hedges and gates enclosed a large, safe play area for the kids. Gas grille, table and chairs enable open-air cooking and dining. A five minute walk down the quiet, single-track lane took us to the coast road. Across the coast road and five minutes down another lane, we arrived at a gently sloping, secluded sandy beach with tide pools among rock outcroppings. Perfect for the children. The village of Spiddal is a 35-minute walk up the coast road, with sidewalk all the way. Galway city is an easy 12-miles east by car or bus, while Connemara opens to the west and north. Overall, a wonderful stay. Thank you.
