We stayed for a few days in March. Quality accommodation with a picturesque outlook. Lovely quiet area within a 10 minute walk of Helensburgh which is apparently the second most exclusive area to live in Scotland and you can see why.
Ferrypoint House was everything we expected and more. House was stunning and facilities amazing. A very relaxing stay in a beautiful location. Graham the owner was a great host and Liz was also extremely helpful. A great and enjoyable experience for all. Also an easy booking experience. Thanks for a lovely break.
We stayed at Chapelhill for the weekend and it was stunning. Nothing was too much hassle for Liam and all the added extras were amazing. The only negative I had was is that I only booked 2 nights, so next time will definitely book longer. Would highly recommend!!
Been coming here for many many yrs and we love it, never get tired of this break, always feels like the first time
We stayed here for a nearby wedding a couple of weekends ago - the apartment was really well equipped with everything we would expect and more, all of a very high standard. The TV, oven, fridge etc. were all a step above what you'd expect at lodges/apartments like this. The natural surroundings and view from the balcony were wonderful. One or two things were damaged but I made the staff aware and received a lovely, prompt response thanking me for doing so. Highly recommended.
Much as the location and the stunning views are all plus points of the property, I felt some basics could be much better. Instructions of various living do's and dont's, within the property were not available, particularly, with regards to operation of heating controls. important during winter stays. The quality of bedding in both bedrooms was very poor and the 'double bed' in the second bedroom was awful!! it was disappointing the nice 'looking' fire place in the lounge was only a decorative item. Doesn't even light up. This turned a potentially, snug and nice lounge area in a cold winters ev...more
We enjoyed our stay in the Cottage. Unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday with masses of people who also enjoyed the week-end at the Loch. We were also disappointed by the village Luss as on the internet it was described as a lively little town with numerous places to go (which was not really the case). We had initial troulbles to get into the cottage and therefore contacted the lady mentioned for assistance during our stay (lodge manageress Caroline). Nobody answered the phone and we had no call back in the whole 2 days during our stay. Fortunately we finally managed to get in. Otherwise we w...more
If, strictly speaking, the term "luxury" refers only to the lodges, then unable to comment further; however, if the self-service accommodation within the castle building is also included then the term should be taken with a pinch of salt.... The castle and the surroundings, of course, exude luxury and make for a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable stay, but the apartment we stayed in did not fully live up to this: although it benefited from many comforts (and not just the basics), cleanliness and maintenance left a lot to be desired, the drive leading from the main road to the castle is full o...more
Beautiful detached house with very high standard of cleanliness and amenities, all the rooms were very spacious and have en suite toilets and showers. Large lounge and kitchen and great welcome pack . Beautiful gardens.. The house is just off the Arden roundabout and very near to Luss and Balloch, it's a couple of minutes drive to Duck Bay marina unfortunately we didn't book for dinner but managed to get in for a coffee .
if dogs were allowed it would almost be perfect Great location treamendous views and close to all local amenities
A lovely peaceful setting and a comfortable lodge. Everything was really clean and the starter pack was helpful. There are a couple of things it might be useful to know before staying: - the bathroom is on the ground floor and the stairs to the mezzanine bedroom are quite steep and polished so might not be suitable for less able/older guests. - the light in the bathroom is on a timer and it does go out when you are showering. The room is dark as there is no window. Also it would be useful to have some printed information in the house on the local area - walks, access to the Loch, restaur...more
Beautiful location and excellent size of house with plenty of space for a family celebration. Lovely bed linen and towels. Comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of good quality dishes, glasses, and cutlery. A few pots and cooking trays could do with being renewed or deep cleaned. Would recommend and would visit again.
Well appointed accommodation. Kitchen well equipped. Two TVs with satellite. Good bathroom. Comfortable lounge with high ceilings. Spacious flat in an excellent position. Short walk to Loch Lomond beach. An excellent value for money stay.
Nothing luxurious about No 15 - short on soap, no toiletries and very mean with toilet paper. Also five wine glasses between six is not enough. Noise insulation very poor - could hear every whisper above and through the wall from neighbour’s tv. Really needs a downstairs loo? Whole complex would benefit from some kind of hub - cafe/shop? Thank goodness for Duck Bay! Adequate but saved only by location at loch side - hedges straight in front need cutting back urgently. Could be soooo much better!
