One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. Completely fell in love with both Brixham and Red Sails - just perfect!!
The most relaxing holiday in years, home from home , lovely view of the bay not to far out of brixem harbour had a great holiday
Another great stay with Brixham Cottages. Can't fault them - Easy to deal with - Great properties - Many Thanks
We loved our stay in Truffle cottage. The quaintness, location & comfort. After a hectic couple of months we wanted a stress free week Truffle cottage and Brixham fitted the bill perfectly. We can't wait to return next year.
I've been here twice now love it , in the centre of everything, coming again next year can't wait great place
brilliant holiday everything provided would reccomend this property to anyone . the bed in the top room was the only thing mattress not very comfortable but couldnt fault anything else lovely being opposite a pub and close to town
We have returned relaxed from our lovely home from home holiday cottage. The house had everything you need, comfy beds, towels provided, a well equipped kitchen, a stunning bathroom and milk and home made biscuits on arrival. We will be back.
8 adults & a baby stayed at this beautiful house with stunning views over Brixham Harbour. The accommodation was first class & everything we needed was available including a safety gate, high chair & travel cot. 4 double bedrooms on the lower floor plus 3 bathrooms served us well & the open plan lounge & large kitchen dining area was perfect for our family break. The roads to the property are tight for parking so the garage & small driveway were an added bonus. Lots of steep steps to get down to the harbour could be a problem for less mobile visitors but the great grandparents managed the desc...more
Our stay at Ocean View was very relaxing. Overseeing the Fish Market with everyone busy at work, was a joy to watch whilst sitting outside. Ocean view has everything you need and want. A short stroll into the busy harbour and shopping area. With lots of places to eat and drink. Highly recommended but I will say the only toilet available is on the top floor so be prepared for a trek. I would definitely stay here again
fab cottage and spectacular views. so good to have a private parking bay as roads around the cottage very narrow and lots of cars parked. very comfortable and suited us with 6 adults and a 11month grandson.
Delightful chalet, ideal setting, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Will certainly return again next year.
Same as above. What more can you ask for- oh some good weather!! .very roomy bungalow, and back garden nice and secluded. Just a pity the owners are not letting it out in future.
We arrived at the property for my sons wedding. The property was centrally located although on a hill that might suit all. The accommodation was spacious enough for 3 generations of our family to have their own space. The kitchen was fully equipped to cook anything but the provision of some basics such as foil, cling film and basic condiments would have gone a long way. The provision of fresh milk to make a drink on arrival would also help. Although there is only 1 bathroom the 3 toilets made sure we were not caught short. I would recommend this property to anyone needing space and a g...more
We found this home to be very clean, comfortable and well equipped. It Is ideally located to explore Brixham town centre and beyond. The walk down to the centre is easy, about 15 minutes, Walking back up is a bit of a challenge but the views are worth it! Driving down to the centre is straightforward and there is ample parking at a cost of £1.20 per hour or you can buy a weekly ticket for £35.00. I will recommend this house and Brixham Cottages to my friends and family knowing full well there will be no disappointments.
We had a wonderful holiday in Brixham. The cottage was lovely with superb views of Brixham harbour. It was very well kept and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Would definitely use Brixham Cottages again. Very professional and excellent customer service. Overall two very satisfied customers.
We originally stayed at lighthouse Beacon. After a water leak in Bathroom. We were moved to Penthouse within the hour which was amazing service. And Wow! The Penthouse is Amazing the apartment is very modern and stylish. The views are out of this world. Thank you for your service.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very well equipped, charming cottage. Close to a Sainsburys local, not only were our accommodation needs met and of a high standard, but our ability to shop for groceries, was a bonus. An easy walk to a stunning harbour and the beautiful sea. Melanie, Woking
Lovely cottage in the heart of Brixham. Very much felt like a home from home. The location is excellent being two minutes walk to the harbour where there are great cafes & restaurants. (I'd recommend booking a table at Rockfish if you can and asking for an outside table where you get great views of the harbour.) The facilities at the cottage are excellent but be careful of the stairs, especially with young children. I'd also recommend visiting the harbour office and purchasing a car parking ticket - a weeks ticket works out at £5 per day and allows you to use an abundance of car parks all arou...more
Lovely house with fantastic views over the harbour. Spacious accommodation which was perfect for our family reunion. Easy access with the key box so no time pressure on arrival.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Broadsteps cottage. It was beautifully decorated, well equipped and a stones throw from everything we love about Brixham. We hope to return again one day.
This little gem is a credit to it's owners, so comfortable, well laid out and ideally situated for the quay being just a short stroll down the streets. Local bars and shops are very inviting and most of them are dog friendly too. The roads are narrow and some are quite steep. Locals are quite accommodating and try to be helpful whilst unloading the car, fortunately, this road is not very busy. We eventually parked in Querry Car Park and now we know how this works, we will organise a weekly ticket in advance in future. For £35 (from Harbour Masters Office) is well worth it and allows you to pa...more
We have stayed at Moorings Reach on several occasions, and as always perfect location and wonderful town house. Everything on our doorstep.
the cottage was in a great location overlooking the quay.a lovely spot to watch all the coming and going of the leisure and fishing boats.there are a few steps to negociate to and from the property but it only takes 5 mins to walk to the harbour.the accomadation was spacious and clean with everything you might need for a comfortable stay.Lovely.
Two adults + two dogs, two weeks and second visit to Four Decks = Excellent holiday ! Great place to stay, can't fault it for its comfort and views and extremely well equipped house. Brixham is a lovely place to visit, lots of great places to eat and drink, lovely shops to wander through and friendly locals who are always ready to have a chat. Great location for visiting the whole area, by car or boat. In fact I don't know why I'm doing this because I want it to be our secret !
Beautifully appointed cottage especially upstairs in open plan living area. Bedrooms might prove a little small for four especially on a longer stay, but again comfortable and tastefully decorated. Gated private garden with offload parking a real bonus in Brixham where space comes at premium. 10 min walk into town where you can find some great eats (recommend Lytehouse) and boat connections to rest of Torbay and the River Dart.
Pretty cottage decorated in upscale shabby-chic/downscale boutique was charming and well-equipped. Delightful views and despite central location a sense of privacy. Only drawback was parking and lack of a yard for the hound.
Brilliant views and accommodation. Just one small detail or door handle being broken on one of the bedrooms which could result in someone being locked in but I left a note to inform them and based on the condition and high standard of the property have no doubt they were unaware and will fix it promptly. The stairs are a little steep and it might be worth pointing this out on your website as although they where no problem to myself and daughter my 85 year old mother did struggle a little with them mainly because of the narrow tread. But we had a great time and would definitely stay again.
Fantastic place to stay with only short walks to brixham and berry head, very comfortable property with everything you need for a first class holiday.
Our family have been visiting Devon for many years and have a fair experience of holiday rentals in Brixham. Moorings End (among the best) is comfortable, spacious enough if the weather is bad, and everything works as it should. We slept well. A dedicated parking space (an essential in Brixham) is at the rear of the property, which has recently been updated to a good standard. An additional bathroom, important for larger parties, has been added. We have always found Brixham Cottages, the management company, to be dependable and efficient. Moorings end commands excellent views of the ha...more
The location is just great, on a hill with goregous sea views, even whilist laying in bed, in the main bedroom, a small tilt of the blinds and wake up to those views. Apartments are modern, and even fitted with a dishwasher ! A short 2 minute walk down from the apartment gets you to Fishcombe cove, and another cove is 5 minutes walk away. The sea is clear, and we even managed to see a seal in one of the coves. A trifle expensive place to stay , but worth it.
Excellent location with fantastic views. Cottage is very roomy and has a lovely patio to the front with two further outside areas to the back. Only negative comment is that we feel in some areas the cleaning of the cottage could have been better.
Good location a bit hilly so make sure that everyone is physically fit Property good for unloading but you have park up road , the property is in good condition has everything you require of good quality only downside some of utensils are bit cheap
Close to the harbour. Good decor. Enjoyed the balcony patio and the view from it. Only thing that could be improved is the seating in lounge. It's in good condition but not that comfortable to sit on for any length of time.
seadogs retreat is in a lovely location overlooking the harbour we found the cottage was clean and well equipped especially thekitchen the beds were comfortable and the bed linen was laundered to a high standard we enjoyed our stay there and would certainly recommend the cottage to anyone who knows we might be back again thankyou for a lovely week yours sincerely grahame & shirley jones
Riviera View is a sweet little chalet in a block of six. The chalet has the afternoon/evening sun and some outside space, so it's lovely to sit on the patio furniture and enjoy the view of the sea. Location is very good on a private area of Brixham Holiday Park, guests have use of the launderette, indoor pool (we often had it to ourselves) and friendly bar serving nice meals - they also do takeaway. The picturesque walk into town is 15 mins along the coast path. Fishcombe and Churston Coves are very close by. The chalet is well equipped and very clean, the beds are lovely and comfy too, alwa...more
Great location, great accommodation, it's has everything even a washer/dryer. the owners were great got us 2 travel cots one at very short notice, can't say anything bad about it, will defo be booking again !
Seaspray sits slightly above the Shoaĺstone seawater pool which must be wonderful in the summer months when it is open. There is also the Shoalstone cafe just by the garden gate...wonderful fresh fish. Also nearby the Breakwater Bistro. Feel a little less lazy, a short walk takes you into Brixham which offers many different shops and eateries around the very picturesque harbour . You can purchase beautiful fresh fish from the fish market ( wonderful huge scallops!) Seaspray has panoramic views of the sea and harbour from the kitchen, sitting room and two main bedrooms. You can sit over break...more
We had a lovely week here. The view out of the bedroom window was brilliant. I really enjoyed it. The bed was extremely comfortable and lovely quality bed linen. The shower and bath were both excellent. We enjoyed our meals in the dining area and the lounge was very cosy at night. We also sat out on the front when we got back from our days out to enjoy the beautiful harbour views. A lovely week. Thankyou very much.
Cottage in a lovely position for watching activity on the harbour but beware if you intend to sit out peacefully on the balcony because the boat repairing down below can be horrendously noisy. Also you need to be fit as steps and climb to property and 2 sets of very steep spiral type stairs in property. We were disappointed the twin bedroom had not been made up as occasionally we sleep in separate bedrooms...it isn't as though we paid less for two of us so surely both rooms should have been prepared? We found the bed far too hard. Ideal place for active people and very handy for pubs, shops etc...more
Really lovely quirky cottage, that felt roomy , bright and airy Lovely views and location. Well come again and stay longer
We had a great holiday in Brixham and the cottage was in a great location as it was close to the town and beaches. The view from the upstairs window which overlooked the harbour and coastline was fantastic. Although we had a slight problem when the shower stopped working I am pleased to say Johnny reacted immediately when I telephoned him and had it fixed straight away. I was very impressed by the service.
Beautiful views of the harbour from Kitchen, Lounge & Bedrooms. Sitting outside on the decking in the warm Autumnal sunshine was excellent. There are not enough kitchen utensils, bath hot water is tepid which was disappointing and vacuum cleaner has no main brush head so as to to facilitate the vacuuming up of the dog hairs..
A great little cottage in a good position close to harbour and town well equipped and comfortable the only minor criticism is the post office sorting office is behind you and they are very noisy from 3.00am but replacement windows would soon sort that out. As far as value for money then 5 out of 5 from us.
Lovely quaint cottage with absolutely stunning views of the harbour from both the sun room and roof terrace. Very close to the town and the harbour with all the amenities. Brixham is a hilly town and so the walks to and from the cottage are also hilly. Whilst we did not have an issue with having to carry luggage to the property it might present a challenge to the less mobile and active due to the lack of vehicular access.
This is the second time we have been to this property and each time we have enjoyed it immensely .Being situated where it is and having the bus stop for both ways just outside the door it is ideal for both Brixham and Dartmouth. Small complaint the shower unless being used as a shower (not washing hair as we use it) is a real pain. The slate on the gardens does not improve the overall look. These are small things and as previously stated this is a really good place to stay.
We have enjoyed staying here and we have enjoyed the view from the window. Everything that we needed has been provided. A bonus has been that it is easy to walk to the harbour which is lovely. It is in a good position for visiting lots of places. We have had a really good week.
Had a good weeks holiday cottage was very good just a bit of TLC needed here and there, when we arrived kitchen floor was very slippery and there was a pool of liquid on the floor! But other than that had a good holiday. Parking a bit tight but then we used the bus etc. so only moved it at the end of our holiday.
Close to everything and still very quiet and peaceful. Great customer service, very accommodating. We will be back!
We stay here most years because we like the property and because we love the location. The views from the lounge window are fantastic with even wider views from the rooftop viewing area. Our family has many different interests but this area suits all of us.
Lovely holiday home , very well equipped and with the addition of a large utility room for all the beach stuff!!
We have been coming to Brixham for over 25 years and love the place. it is very dog friendly with cafes and bars and never loses it's character feel. We have stayed at many locations around Brixham and feel that around Furzeham Green is the best particularly with a dog. Good park to exercise the dog and also relatively good for parking, so long as you aren't precious about the car being right outside your door there is always space within a reasonable walk and also lovely views from the elevated position. Four Seas was a lovely apartment with amazing views although the stairs could be a litt...more
not very clean. trouble locking door. patio area a disgrace overgrown with weeds and rotten fruit fallen from tree windows mucky step in toilet needs highlighting the cottage is lovely quirky and in a good location close to town , no parking in road comfortable beds
The cottage is small but very suitable for a week stay. It is in excellent condition and is very well equipped.
There was 12 of us staying at The Retreat very comfortably. My whole family. The house was very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However, as stated in other reviews our stay would have been enhanced if there was garden furniture in the back so that we could have barbecued as a family to enjoy the amazing vista. I hope that we are able to return in the future.
Clean, tidy, good condition, relaxing. A wonderful base to visit and explore Devon. Ideal for Brixham & Torquay. Well situated for easy access to Brixham and the harbour.
We had a great week lovely Bunglow lots to do and see we would go there again as its close to Brixham
This house must be one of the best locations for the view of the harbour, that's for sure, likewise it is very close to all the sites to see. Have no regrets booking here, and would certainly come again. Only thing really I could knock is the access to the high level decked area, if you are bad on your legs like my wife is she could get up there to see the magnificent views, but thankfully I did.( WOW what a view )
Comfortable, clean bungalow in a peaceful setting. Close to the coastal walk into Brixham and just 10 minutes walk from Berry Head nature reserve and cafe.
Bit dark and gloomy in the kitchen and living area, leg aching walk back up from the harbourside. Otherwise OK.
The best views from your front windows you could wish for, quiet terrace, easy to get into town, although the steps down to the road are a bit steep I managed as there is a hand rail,I have knee problems, and getting luggage up needed a strong person. But once there it was worth it. Good area close by for walking Finlay and we found parking quite good at this time of year as restrictions ended. We were very lucky with the weather sunny and quite warm. The cottage needs some updates as other reviews have said,I slept on the first floor due to steep stairs up to the top floor main bedroom and no ligh...more
Lovely location with stunning views of Torbay.clean and comfortable extremely well equipped. I would and have recommended this property to others.short walks into brixham or to berry head.
Booked this apartment for its location and parking space and easy access to the town. The problem with the parking is its at the back of the property and if you have this apartment you are not allowed to walk up the path from the back door to the car, instead you have to walk approx 200 yards around the street to get to your car. The same applies to all your rubbish and recycling which you have to carry all the way round to put in the boxes. The apartment also has a property above which turned out to be quite noisy.
Pros: great views, good location, New bathrooms. Cons: rest of house is very dated, and needs someone with a flair for design to make it look desirable. Sofas were the most uncomfortable we had ever sat on. There was a maintenance issue with a damp patch that ran all the way down the front corner of the property, this was reported to Brixham cottages, who responded promptly, but it did mean we weren't able to use the master bedroom ( with the lovely views) because of the worrying looking black and white mold patches.
Stayed in Brixham many many times since 1993 but have always stayed over the other side of the harbour overlooking the sea but this year I left it late and cobblers cottage in Higher Street was about the only one left. We arrived early and the owners were still there cleaning. Charming couple who even took our cases upstairs after we left & went for a walk to let them finish off. Tea bags, sugar, coffee, milk, tea towels, washing up liquid, bath towels, loo rolls & hand soap were also provided which was brilliant & saved us having to buy them. The cottage was very small but served its purpose...more
The views from the property are fantastic and a short walk to the small Brixham Beach Stayed with a young baby with a pram and had to carry up the steps to the property but the description makes you aware of this. Only really tricky thing is not being able to turn the car around in the neighbours driveway and therefore having to do a tight 3 point turn to get the car out - the alternative is reversing up the VERY steep driveway up to the property
We had a lovely holiday in Brixham. Cottage in good location and very comfortable. No I don't need to add 18 characters!
Brixham Cottages were recommended by a friend as we were looking for somewhere dog friendly. Wits End overlooks the harbour and while it's a steep climb down steps to reach it it's definitely worth the effort. If there is one issue it is parking, the roads are very narrow and parking is extremely limited, we're parked about a 5 minute walk away from the cottage however the area appears to be safe and leaving the car somewhere out of site hasn't been an issue so far. Brixham is close to Torquay, we took the ferry for only £3 return each and our dog went free. We've also walked to Berry Head f...more
Not very good needs a lot of tlc, you may of had the views but a little more attention to detail with in the cottage needed addressing.
