On arrival the cottage made an instant impact it was spacious, very nicely decorated and immaculately clean. During our stay we realised just how much thought and effort had gone into our cottage. Basically the cottage contained everything that we needed and more. The surrounding area was beautiful with many walks on the doorstep. The children enjoyed the open space and the play area, the dogs enjoyed the fact that they could go into the back patio of the cottage which was secured by fencing and a gate and they were spoilt with fluffy towels, dog bed, treats and toys left by the cottage owner....more
This place is perfect for our family get togethers. We are four couples, three toddlers and a baby and there is plenty of space for everyone. Baby things can easily be provided by Jessica, so packing is nice and easy! Grocery delivery arrived before we did and it was lovely to arrive to full cupboards. The place is also wheelchair friendly, which is vital for our family. We've stayed at Thiefhole three times now, and at this property twice - we'll definitely be back again.
Superb quality accommodation, ideal location for exploring Dales and Moors, very peaceful and relaxing.
All facilities provided of high quality, one small issue with shower head resolved the same day, beautiful furnishings add to experience.
Spent a weekend in Fawkes Cottage. Jess has thought of every little detail in renovating and furnishing the cottages. Very comfortable and pleasant surroundings. Privacy and chance to mix in the courtyard with neighbours if you choose to. Ample parking space and easy access to nearby villages with plenty places to eat, shop or visit. York, Scarborough, Whitby all within visiting distance. Would thoroughly recommend cottages for a relaxing break or a base to tour from.
We have stayed at Turpin many times before & hope to do so again - you can't fault it.
The cottage is perfect for two but can take two more, so comfy & with every convenience imaginable - far exceeding any other one bed cottage we have ever visited.
The welcome pack is a lovely surprise & what a super king size bed - a four poster & sooooo comfy!
Situated just north of Thirsk, it's a perfect jumping off spot for so many of Yorkshire's wonders. York city, the coast, the N. Yorks railway, the beautiful Dales, Breezy Knees garden & plenty more, museums galore & the N. Yorkshire Moors too.
Jessica has done such a marvellous job with this property. The location is amazing - within an hour of practically everything you'd want to visit in Yorkshire, accessible to main roads but still feeling quiet and rural with sweeping views.
But the property has taken it to the next level, especially for families. The place was well set up for extended families, with separate spaces for different members of the family, and the sleeping area was well separated from the living areas which meant there was no risk of disturbing children at night. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen in...more
