A fabulous place to spend a long weekend with family, to celebrate two 60ths and a 40th birthday.
Even with a rainy Saturday, there was more than enough to do to amuse everyone. Can’t recommend Elm Lodge enough.

Our second stay at Elm Lodge was just as good as the first. Perfect house for a large multi generation family holiday. So much space, plentiful bathroom/cooking facilities and beautiful grounds. We all enjoyed relaxing in the hot tubs after a walk, had meals out at 2 of the local pubs (both excellent) and had lots of quality family time together. We like it so much that we have booked to return again next year!

Right from the start of our booking and arrival the owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. Our family of 21 on this occasion ranged in age from 5 to 78 years old. There was something for everyone both indoors and outdoors. It was extremely convenient to have the public tennis court, play park and golf course within easy walking distance.
The house is very well equipped and the 2 Hot Tubs were well used and enjoyed.
The bedrooms were very spacious and everyone had a chance to choose their preferred room with adequate toilets and bathrooms . Children were not often seen until the call for food was issues! They had a great time exploring and playing hide and seek which was even enjoyed by some adults!!
With family coming from South England and all over Scotland the location was perfect just a short distance off the M6.

We spent a week at Elm Lodge as part of our wedding celebrations, with family travelling in from around the world. We had everything we could possibly need at this incredible house, which is simply perfect for a large family gathering. Ruth, our host was fantastic and her attention to detail is what makes the experience simply perfect. We feel very grateful for this opportunity and we’re already planning our return.

We’ve just returned from a week at this exceptional holiday house, where three generations came together to celebrate some birthdays—ranging from 55 to 80. It was a celebration to remember, made all the more special by the stunning location, comfortable house, and perfect weather.
The house is beautiful and can accommodate large groups without ever feeling crowded. There are plenty of spaces for everyone to come together—whether over meals, games, or just relaxed conversations—and just as many quiet corners for those who want a bit of peace and quiet.
The setting is nothing short of idyllic. We were lucky with sunshine all week, which allowed us to make the most of the outdoor spaces, the hot tubs, the decking watching the sheep graze, or a quiet corner of the walled garden.
Every generation found something to love here including the dogs who enjoyed exploring the garden and further afield. Whether it was the well-equipped kitchen, cozy lounge areas, outdoor activities or the billiard room, the home offered comfort and enjoyment for all ages. It truly felt like a place made for memory-making.
Thank you for helping us celebrate such a meaningful week in such a perfect setting. We will definitely be back

My very large 4 generation family stayed here for the second time, for a pre-Christmas family gathering. It’s just a beautiful property, perfect for our family size, set in beautiful grounds. A weekend just isn’t enough to maximise the experience! The property has everything you need. You just arrive, get your shopping delivered, and you’re good to go! Love it!

Elm Lodge is a delightful, well equipped house. The bedrooms located on the first and second floors are spacious and the beds comfortable. The downstairs rooms are also large with plenty of space for people to gather together or find a quiet spot by themselves. The kitchen makes catering for a large group easy with good sized pans and plenty of preparation space.
We received a lovely welcome on arrival and were shown round by the owners who were very helpful.
The grounds are beautiful and red squirrels can often be seen in the trees in the garden. The hot tub was also enjoyed by some of our group and was much appreciated. There are several walks through the surrounding area that can be done from the front door so the beauty of the surrounding area can be appreciated.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Elm Lodge and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

As a regular mixed age group of friends, we have been taking annual trips for 14 years and staying at the biggest and best rental homes in the North. Our demands are high; 10 bedrooms with bathrooms, nice village with a couple of good eating pubs within walking distance, in easy each of the motorway (M6) and good access to country walks. We definitely found it this time. Fantastic buildings and immaculate grounds. Lovely hosts Ruth and Charlie, all amenities in abundance, clean and comfy beds, two hot-tubs, Barbeque decking area and a great kitchen. Coming again with family in summer and again with the gang later in the year.

Stayed Mon-Fri to celebrate my wife’s 60th Birthday with family and friends. Had an amazing time in this great house. Great location with 2 pubs within a short walk. We had the most wonderful time as a large family group celebrating my mum’s 80th birthday. The house and grounds are stunning. So much space and various options to be together as a large group or sneak off for some peace and quiet. Kitchen is very well equipped and we were able to host a 3 course dinner party to spectacular effect. Wonderful pub less than 5 minutes walk away.

We’ve just returned from our stay at Elm Lodge. There was 14 adults from 3 generations of family, gathering for a celebration. We were all really impressed and were very well catered for in all departments.
The house was very clean and there was an abundance of cutlery, pots, pans, glassware , cups etc
The grounds are amazing and the local and very close pubs were a bonus at the end of a walk.
Communication was always good and we were met at the house and shown around the house.
A great stay and we would definitely return.

The place was wonderful, everything you could need. Lovely and clean. Would highly recommend. Only think that could help would be if there was more options with some of the beds. If they were able to be either double of twin would help when large groups are sharing however saying this it was not an issue for us. We had the most wonderful time and would return.

The house and grounds were stunning. We couldn't have asked for more! This was a big family celebration and the house gave us everything we needed. Plenty of spacious rooms, great kitchen facilities, wonderful dining room so we could all celebrate together and 2 amazing hot tubs. Local pubs just a few minutes walk away, just perfect. Already thinking of a reason to book again! Also big thanks to Anna and Ruth for being available to answer my endless questions before arrival. Wonderful customer service.

This stunning house and perfect location was just what we needed for our weekend away. The house and the grounds make for an isolated feel whilst still being near to pubs, shops and other activities. I would highly recommend a visit.

Our group of friends have stayed at a large number of these big houses over the years and the consensus opinion was that this was one of the best, well equipped, large airy rooms, furnished to a high standard and with lovely extensive gardens. Ravenstonedale is a lovely village. Host was quick to respond when we had an minor issue with the electrics.

I can't recommend a stay at Elm Lodge enough. Elm Lodge was our venue for our wedding. Our whole family spent 4 nights at Elm Lodge to celebrate. We've made so many happy memories there and enjoyed enjoyed every second.
We had our ceremony in the front garden and had a tipi on the back lawn for our reception and evening party of 100 people. The grounds are spectacular and very well kept. They made a beautiful backdrop for our wedding photos and a place for our guests and family staying at the lodge to explore. We played many fun garden games outside.
The house is incredible. All of the rooms were great and well decorated with comfy beds and hot showers. Again, for a house of that size and age with original features, it was incredibly well kept, homely with lots of space and lots to do. We felt at home. We enjoyed billiards, the different lounges and the two hot tubs outside. There are lots of facilities to cater for a large group.
Ruth and Charlie have been perfect hosts, both helpful and very friendly and we can't thank them enough.

This was the perfect house for a family party. The house itself exceeded expectations in style and decor. The location, gardens and views are stunning. Everything you could possibly want is provided. We have been coming to the lakes for an annual walking holiday for over 20 years. Over time our group has grown and we were lucky to find Elm Lodge to accommodate us all. By far the best house we have stayed in, it had everything that a large group with several children and babies could need. Plenty of space to both make memories together and have some quiet time when needed.
We had mixed weather but enjoyed walking from the door each day with Ashfell ridge being a favourite and all appreciated a nice warm soak in the hot tubs afterwards. Two excellent pubs within staggering distance and The Kings Head accommodated our large party for an excellent last night meal. We were also very lucky to see several lambs being born at Elm Lodge.
We can't wait to come back!

Elm lodge is stunning, very spacious and well equipped. We had a fantastic time with friends and family to celebrate a birthday. Everyone enjoyed their stay and had a fantastic time. The location is quiet with plenty of beautiful walks from the village. We ate at both pubs which have very different menus but both were delicious. I would highly recommend staying at Elm Lodge.

What an absolutely beautiful property. We stayed here as a family to celebrate my Mums life. From the warm welcome from Ruth, to the basket of goodies and prelaid fires, it couldn't have got off to a better start. The kitchen is very well equipped, even as a keen cook! There is plenty of lovely white china. It would be nice to have somebetter glassware (including some tumblers please), but thats getting quite picky!Very comfortable bedrooms with nice toiletries (although some bottles tricky to open). We rounded our visit with a game of croquet in the sunshine. Hopefully we get to visit again.
