This was our fifth year staying at Mere View Loft and, once again, it did not disappoint. It is such a lovely, stylish, clean and comfortable place to stay in the heart of Bowness and is exceptional accommodation. A big thank you to Claire and Ross for continuing to offer such a wonderful place to stay and for providing such a smooth, professional and courteous booking service from start to finish. This is apartment is a gem in the heart of the beautiful Lake District and Tarn and Fell Escapes provides excellent customer service.
Great stay in a clean property! We booked at 5pm Saturday and checked in with ease at 7.30pm the same night! House is clean, quiet and comfortable.

We had such a wonderful stay here and honestly couldn’t have asked for more. The property itself is amazing—modern, beautifully designed, and finished to a really high standard. It felt both stylish and comfortable from the moment we arrived. The hosts went above and beyond with thoughtful touches that made a big difference, like milk and chocolate in the fridge, plus sweets, coffee, and tea all provided. This is a lovely property right in the heart of Silverdale. Hot tub a huge bonus. Clean, well equipped and nicely decorated.
Excellent in every way, location, comfort, cleanliness, parking, communication. Our return visit was as good as the first a year ago, and we will definitely make a third visit. Loved it. I would be quite fussy and expect a high standard, Edge Mere delivers in all respects. Love it!
Everything about Wansfell Heights makes it a superb visit each time. Apart from the high quality, tasteful decor and the excellent wide ranging amenities and comfortable furnishings the place is always warm and quiet and very relaxing to be in whilst also being very continently located with good parking.
Excellent location. View to die for. Very well equipped. Lovely walks direct from garden. We were a family group of six and we all very Pleased with the property.
Corner House was in a fantastic location. Easy to find, great pubs in the local area. Perfect weekend getaway for a couple including dogs! Top notch service from Ross, we will definitely be back. Thanks so much!
The cottage was booked to celebrate a special family birthday. We found the cottage extremely clean, spacious and comfortable with lots of character and in a great location. I can thoroughly recommend booking with Tarn & Fell Escapes, as they were very courteous and helpful from start to finish, even going above and beyond to drop off items which were left at the cottage by mistake, at the end of our visit.

A wonderful stay with family in a fabulous house . Needs chairs in bedrooms and areas for ladies to do hair and makeup near to mirrors and plugs. A clock in the kitchen would be useful and pictures in the lounge as walls are large and bare. Garden would be nicer if it had some plants. However, none of this distracted from a lovely time. House was spotless and kitchen had everything you could need. 2 dishwashers perfect for large groups. All bedrooms were beautiful . Thank you
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Pottery Gate. The house was super clean, very comfortable, and a great place to come home too after a long day walking. The bathroom was a huge hit with my children, watching tv while having a bath was a great surprise! It was very handy having the laundry facilities too, a great addition to the house. I’d also add that we are not pet people and I was a little worried about smells, but there was none at all. It was very clean and smelt wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone looking for a little base in the Lakes.
We had a lovely three night break at High Tarn Green. The rural location made for a quiet peaceful stay in warm, comfortable and well presented accommodation. The property had everything we required and we had no need to bother our hosts who had left us some nice biscuits, milk, orange juice and wine to find on our arrival, a nice touch. The property location is ideal for exploring the South Lakes area and The Furness Peninsular and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to family and friends.
From the young deer passing through the surrounding woodland, to the tranquil views over the lake, this was another lovely stay at Potter's Wheel. The upgrades to the cottage have offered additional quality to what was already on offer in terms of location and character. The walk in shower is a great addition, and the kitchen has everything you need. We were able to really relax (much needed) and enjoy our stay. Very much hope to stay again soon. The cottage was the perfect place for my family and I to spend Christmas. The whole place was well stocked and the host added lots of little touches that added to the Christmas spirit in the house, including a live Christmas tree! The kitchen was also amazingly well equipped, allowing us to cook a full Christmas dinner without much additional equipment. Lastly the location itself was set beautifully on a hill and made it easy to access all the nearby villages in the lake districts.
Fantastic little cottage, Everything you need is supplied, spotlessly clean had a fantastic stay. The staircase may be challenging for elderly guests but we managed fine.
We booked Rose Barn at short notice through Tarn & Fell Escapes Ltd. A very easy process and we also received a call to ensure we had received our welcome pack which was a nice touch. The property we rented was a lovely converted barn not far from Windermere. It contained everything we needed for our mini break, in excellent condition, lovely furnishings and most importantly it was very clean. There was a great local friendly pub within a 5 minute walk which served good food and shops were about 5 minutes by car. Highly recommended - thanks for a great time.
We stayed here for Four nights over the Christmas period. The cottage was in an excellent location, so peaceful and quiet. It had a well equipped kitchen to enable us to make a full Christmas dinner. The cleanliness and comfort could not be faulted and we will most definitely stay again. The treats that were left for us were really appreciated.
What a great cottage so warm and cosy, the underfloor heating is great, stayed end of Jan and had to turn heating down it was such a warm cottage. Great location, garden enclosed so perfect for the dogs. Would definitely recommend and we will stay again. Great communication from Tarn and Fell.
Fantastic holiday. Cabin is beautiful. Some slight wear on bedroom furniture but nothing too obvious. The location is brilliant. In a quiet part of the grounds so great for kids playing outside the cabin on bikes with little traffic. Location is quiet and peaceful. Hot tub was a lovely bonus. All round fantastic.
Spacious property in a lovely peaceful rural setting within easy walking distance of Ambleside. Kitchen well equipped and bathrooms in good condition. Furnishings elsewhere quite tired with sofa bed in 2nd room not very comfortable. Could do with refresh. Customer service before stay excellent.
Really enjoyed our stay, very close to Bowness. The cottage itself was very comfy, cosy and had everything we needed. Only small issues gates outside need to be lockable for children/dogs and the shower was very small. Didn’t affect our stay would stay again and highly recommend
We had a great time at dizzy ducks. Few things need repair extract fan being the main one but overall it’s a great place to stay. We’ll be back.
