This was our fifth year staying at Mere View Loft and, once again, it did not disappoint. It is such a lovely, stylish, clean and comfortable place to stay in the heart of Bowness and is exceptional accommodation. A big thank you to Claire and Ross for continuing to offer such a wonderful place to stay and for providing such a smooth, professional and courteous booking service from start to finish. This is apartment is a gem in the heart of the beautiful Lake District and Tarn and Fell Escapes provides excellent customer service.
From the moment i booked this you could not fault the service from tarn and fell They were brilliant. They called me on day of check in to say the cottage was ready early and even helped us out with additional car parking as we had 2 cars. The cottage was absolutely incredible! We go away once a month and this was honestly the nicest accomodation iv ever stayed in! Everything in the cottage was done to such a high standard. We will 100% be booking with this company again you couldn’t fault anything and all there properties are stunning thankyou for such a wonderful trip
Great stay at Dizzy Ducks, lovely lodge on a well maintained site within easy reach of the villages in the South Lakes. The lodge was spotless and extremely well equipped. There is an entertainment centre and a pool in site which appeared to be very popular. Ross at the Tarn & Fell Escapes was very helpful and i would recommend the company and a stay at the lodge
This was our second stay in this property. The location is excellent helped by designated parking! The property is very accessible and provides a fabulous welcome upon entering. The apartment is so comfortable. We had a wonderful 3 days and look forward to returning next year.
We would definitely recommend this lovely apartment. On arrival everything was immaculate and of very high standard with a full equipped kitchen. Brilliant location with amazing views and parking directly outside. We booked through Tarn and Fell and as always nothing was too much trouble for Ross who was very helpful as always. We had a very enjoyable stay.
Excellent location. View to die for. Very well equipped. Lovely walks direct from garden. We were a family group of six and we all very Pleased with the property.

This accommodation was fantastic. Pristine clean with every facility and equipment you could possibly need! A hidden gem. We loved the communal space alongside the privacy and convenience of separate rooms - all with en-suite. A superb place, location and weekend!
Absolutely super property. The living space for entertaining 14 guests was fabulous. We hired a private chef one evening and the layout open plan kitchen diner worked very well. A memorable night for us all. The sitting room seated 12 comfortably and the wood burner was super efficient and made the dark evenings very cosy. In terms of location it’s a short walk into Windermere town and a handy location for going off biking. Orrest head and lots of walks just out of the door. Smashing cottage with some lovely little touches on arrival. What we loved was that is was home from home, with tea and coffee, a few dishwasher tables, dishcloths and everything you needed to get started. The little courtyard garden was a nice place to sit with a coffee (even in the freezing cold!) and I imagine it would be a lovely place to sit in the summer months. On the doorstep to beautiful scenery and the local pub and co-op. My family and I had a wonderful stay at Pottery Gate. The house was super clean, very comfortable, and a great place to come home too after a long day walking. The bathroom was a huge hit with my children, watching tv while having a bath was a great surprise! It was very handy having the laundry facilities too, a great addition to the house. I’d also add that we are not pet people and I was a little worried about smells, but there was none at all. It was very clean and smelt wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone looking for a little base in the Lakes.
We had a lovely three night break at High Tarn Green. The rural location made for a quiet peaceful stay in warm, comfortable and well presented accommodation. The property had everything we required and we had no need to bother our hosts who had left us some nice biscuits, milk, orange juice and wine to find on our arrival, a nice touch. The property location is ideal for exploring the South Lakes area and The Furness Peninsular and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to family and friends.
A lovely well equipped cottage. Quiet, easy to find, great location near lakes and hills. Good standard of furnishings. Excellent heating.
The cottage was the perfect place for my family and I to spend Christmas. The whole place was well stocked and the host added lots of little touches that added to the Christmas spirit in the house, including a live Christmas tree! The kitchen was also amazingly well equipped, allowing us to cook a full Christmas dinner without much additional equipment. Lastly the location itself was set beautifully on a hill and made it easy to access all the nearby villages in the lake districts.
Fantastic little cottage, Everything you need is supplied, spotlessly clean had a fantastic stay. The staircase may be challenging for elderly guests but we managed fine.
We stayed here for Four nights over the Christmas period. The cottage was in an excellent location, so peaceful and quiet. It had a well equipped kitchen to enable us to make a full Christmas dinner. The cleanliness and comfort could not be faulted and we will most definitely stay again. The treats that were left for us were really appreciated.
Our favourite cottage in the Lake District! Modern facilities, always in immaculate condition and an excellent base for exploring surrounding areas especially for walkers. Very conveniently located near to Hawkshead with nice number of pubs and cafes We can’t wait to return!
What a great cottage so warm and cosy, the underfloor heating is great, stayed end of Jan and had to turn heating down it was such a warm cottage. Great location, garden enclosed so perfect for the dogs. Would definitely recommend and we will stay again. Great communication from Tarn and Fell.
Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of staying at 1 Brathay Fell. It is the most beautiful and comfortable place to stay. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the Lake District.
We had the most amazing stay at Firgarth Lodge over Christmas! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The cabin had everything we could possibly need—and then some. Ross was incredibly easy to get in touch with and helped resolve any questions or issues almost immediately, making our stay completely stress-free. The extra touches really made it special, especially the Christmas decorations that added such a warm, festive feel.
