We had a very relaxed break at Balnacraig last weekend. The abundance of routes available for walking walk in the woods behind the house gave us a wide selection of grades ranging from steep mountain bike tracks to more gentle forest roads. The autumn colours made the walks enchanting and drives along the north side of Loch Ness a wonderful visual experience. Balnacraig was spotlessly clean and really comfortable, we had all we required for a home from home experience and it is so well located for ventures north, east and west. We booked this property for its proximity to Loch Ness Country Hotel, where we were attending a wedding. Perfect in that respect. The property was wonderfully isolated, we made good use of the hot tub, the decor was stylish, and there was loads of space. Plenty seating, great to have 3 bathrooms. Our only issue was being unable to access terrestrial TV and having to use catch up services to watch daily news. Would definitely return.
Great stay here lovely location peaceful yes the drive up to is something to experience !! Lovely cottage had everything you need loved the breakfast supplied milk butter eggs and croissants. Log burner spot on loads of wood and the hot tub everything was set up to get it started just a few hours till it was warm enough to get in. Great for dogs garden secured horses came up to back garden on last day as well! Highly recommend had a couple of issues out of their control that were sorted straight away no issues would deffo stay here or one of their other properties again
A lovely cottage with everything you need. Very tastefully decorated, great utility area for coming back and after walking dogs. Very private with a large garden area. Lovely walks from the property. Close to Inverness if you needed anything. Hosts were great with communication. Very warm cottage so was never cold. Visited in February. Comfortable beds.
Wow. Such a beautiful home exuding comfort and style. Everything has been thought of & more. It was super clean. The beds were lovely & comfortable. Loads of wood for ALL the fires! It really is a stunning place. The hot tub is amazing. We loved playing table tennis to decide who was cooking!! It’s not quite on the loch & there is a walk down a slope & then through a field - too far just to run down for a quick swim without taking things with you. It’s more like a ten minute walk.
