This beautifully crafted cabin sits in it's own private meadow nestled in the North Norfolk Countryside. A scandi inspired cabin designed to provide the luxury of a hotel suite whilst immersed in nature. A perfect space to unwind and reset.

From the moment we stepped on the Thursford Castle site, we knew it was somewhere special. Even happier when the dogs came to greet us. The cabin was a great place to wind down and tune alot of the static that we deal with in our everyday lives. It was made even better by the great weather we had during our stay allowed us to use the fire pit and outdoor grill. Admittedly, we didn't spend too much time in the walled garden area but took the time to have a brief look and it looked absolutely amazing. We will definitely be returning for a similar trip soon

Our stay at the Cabin couldn't have been better. Sal and Mark were perfect hosts, very communicative especially when we had some last-minute questions and were on hand with such a friendly welcome. The cabin was exactly like in the photos, very high quality build with important details taken care of - the bathroom had ample hooks and shelving which most hotels fail to get right! The shower was one of the best ever, towels and linens excellent quality and the bed extremely comfortable. With such fantastic insulation and the secluded location, we had the best nights' sleep!
The location is fantastic with so many lovely spots - Holkam, Cromer, Holt, Sandringham - all within easy reach. Highly recommend hiring the e-bikes and spending a day exploring the back lanes and villages.
We really hope to return - thank you Sal and Mark for everything!

It is a peaceful and lovely place to stay with nice places to visiting nearby particularly Holkham up by the sea and we found great places to eat. It is a small cabin although would be nice to sit on the deck in the summer. The hosts do have (currently 3) dogs roaming around but they were delightful.

This cabin was every inch of perfection. From the moment you walked in you were hit with peace and calm. The decor was scandi heaven and it had everything you needed for your stay. We had the pleasure of staying for a couple of days and used every minute we could to indulge in the cabin and its surroundings. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and we loved also having the company of their gorgeous dogs as well who shower you with love. Location is perfect and nothing is too far for you to reach by car or bike. We can’t wait to come again.

This is my second time returning to Thursford Castle. It feels like home. It has all the amenities you need for a short stay. The views at night and in the morning are the best on both sides of the cabin.

The cabin has a lot of mod cons m, the under floor heating, the slim line cooker, it’s stylishly and cleverly organised. It’s ultra modern yet cosy.

Having met the couple and Sally & Mark, a modern yet understated couple they are both visionaries and have really thought about every details meticulously, with no IKEA bits in sight this adds to the experience and value of the cabin. Sally came out to welcome me and it was lovely to see her again. There are quite a few places around the area but this feels like home and I will be certain to come back to experience the comfort and the great location. I have tired to unplugged cabins in a few location but this cabin is build very differently and fittings and furnishing make this a luxurious experience all together.
That only recommendation is
the crumpled a4 info sheet doesn’t add to the welcome experience. For such a modern cabin a QR code on a welcome card on the table would be sleek and a little personalised welcome message would just be the cherry on the cake to tie this together.
Also maybe armchair to read books infront of the fire would a great addition instead of the deck chair
Because you have great view from both the dining window and the front door.

Where does one start with this review.
I loved the ease of the hosts, so chill. The key was already in the cabin and the place ready to go. The cabin was cost, stylish, scandi, had everything you needed with beautiful linen, towels and lovely crockery. The best thing no IKEA in sight, which I was mostly impressed about.
Mark & Sally have taken so much time to perfect each detail and you can see the pride in what they have created.
My only regret is that it was only 2 night stay due to work. However the cabin, location and surrounding areas are enough of a pull to bring us back.
Best cabin I’ve stayed, don’t hesitate to book

Had the most amazing stay for my partners birthday. The cabin is modern but cosy, bed is really comfy, bathroom is like a cool hotels and the cabin location is great. We loved sitting out late in the evening around the fire pit. Mark and Sally where the perfect hosts and all their recommendations for places to eat were spot on. It really is perfectly positioned to explore the North Norfolk coast and villages. Can't wait to go back.

Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. Upon arrival, Sally greeted us warmly (along with her two lovely dogs) She gave us a thorough tour of the cabin and explained how everything worked. She was extremely welcoming. Shortly after, Mark checked in on us to make sure we were settling in well. Both Sally and Mark were incredibly friendly and lovely.

The cabin itself is outstanding—immaculately clean, sleek, and equipped with high-end amenities. The story behind its design added a unique and special touch. The bed was super comfortable with clean bedding and with the views/settings of the cabin made it even better.

Sally and Mark provided us with excellent recommendations for the evening, including walking routes and breakfast/coffee spots for the next day. We would definitely love to return.

We recently stayed in the Cabin and had a wonderful time. The Cabin was set in a beautiful meadow. It had all the facilities we needed including a fire pit to cook outdoors on. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful. We hired a couple of e-bikes from the venue, which were brilliant to explore the locality.

We stayed for two nights and had the best, most relaxing time. The cabin feels very private - located in its own meadow area which you can use as you please with a large outdoor table and a firepit for the evenings. The cabin itself is beautifully designed with everything you might need for a short stay - including a very comfortable bed and large shower! Also located within short drive of plenty of good pubs and restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend!

We were celebrating a 70th birthday with 8 friends and wanted to find a beautiful house to gather everyone -- and Thursford Castle was perfect. The house and grounds are stunning, the living area is incredibly comfortable, the kitchen is superbly stocked, the bedrooms are quiet and cozy, and the en suite bathrooms are quite amazing. We enjoyed all of the different indoor and outdoor seating areas over the course of the week -- and I am embarrassed to admit that we even made use of the foosball table! The Hicklings are gracious hosts who helped me plan the festivities, including recommendations for a great local caterer and florist. And we are hugely appreciative that the house is dog friendly, as we had two dogs with us. Thursford Castle provided the magic for a truly memorable and glorious week with our friends.

Thursford Castle is an amazing experience , the history of the site is fascinating and Sally very kindly talked us through it, the level of comfort is extremely high with lots of different rooms and places to crash out. We left feeling very chilled. Would highly recommend.

Our recent visit to Thursford Castle was everything we hoped it would be having seen it featured on Sandi Toksvig’s Extraordinary Escapes series.
Thursford Castle offers a much-loved family home ambience with all the trimmings you expect from a property of this caliber. The restored chapel entrance to the property provides a dramatic wow feeling and we couldn’t wait to explore the rest of the house.
A beautiful vase of spring daffodils and a food hamper gift were waiting for us in the open plan kitchen and living area and the room was lit with soft lamplight which made us feel immediately at home and welcomed.
During our visit the Hickling family were staying in the walled garden accommodation and we enjoyed our regular chats with our friendly hosts. We were offered an introductory session on the electric bikes which is a separate business that conveniently operates from the site. The cycle ride made for a memorable experience and helped us work of the excess from our many pub lunches whilst at the same time provided a fun way to explore the locality and neighbouring village. My husband’s bike was equipped with a dog carrier which comfortably accommodated our shih tzu for the trip.
Thursford Castle can comfortably accommodate larger groups or two families but still felt cosy enough for the two of us and a dog.
Our visit at the end of March /early April brought an unexpected cold spell and a light dusting of snow but we still enjoyed walks, cycling shopping in Holt, pub lunches and cosy evenings in front of the log fire watching TV.
We would definitely recommend this property and would love to stay there again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here for my partners 30th Birthday. It is much more spacious than the pictures appear - big enough for 2 families (four couples) to stay with plenty of privacy as well as wonderful communal areas. We can find no complaints. It was incredibly clean and had everything we needed for cooking a family meal. We would definitely go back!

Sally and Mark have created a wonderful and unique home which our family felt privileged to share. Travelling from Australia for our first family get together for 3 years Thursford proved a superb location for us to enjoy our time together. North Norfolk is a great backdrop for walking, dining and spending time together.
