This was a great villa for three generations - my husband and me, our two sons and their wives and 3 grandchildren aged 3, 6 and 8.

The pool was incredible and the provision of already inflated rings and lilos was much appreciated by kids big and small. There were plentiful sun beds and cushions, although limited shade by the pool - just one umbrella, the other was shading a table. The view from the pool was stunning, I could have (and did) spend hours looking at it.

The airconditioning was invaluable (cost around EUR250 for the week) but half the family are Americans and they can't live without aircon!!

It was convenient to the airport (just 45 minutes from Pisa) and provided a few local outings. Lucca is outstanding, Montecatini Alto via the funicular was also wonderful - an interesting church and history, with some excellent restaurants. We also went to Vinci, but were less impressed but had a lovely meal in a small cafe. We could have gone further afield but the villa pool was too inviting!

The local town had the best icecream we have had for years and 68 flavours - including chocolate orange. Bliss.

If I had any criticism, it was that there was no where for all 12 of us to sit and the outside seating adjacent to the kitchen was not shaded from noon onwards. That and there was no bread knife - there is now!

Overall a really super holiday in a fabulous villa and great location.
