What an idyllic location for a real taste of country living. Beautiful view, sunsets and rises. Baa-ing of sheep, bird song. Excellent walks and history. Small but perfectly arranged hut with comfy bed and sufficient seating for two both in and out. En-suite toilet and shower. Prompt responses from James to requests for more wood for the fire pit. Would use again.

An excellent retreat. Would come again. Nice and secluded. Good directions and instructions. Only complaint is the light on other shepherd hut staying on all night which meant we had to close shutters. I like to sleep with no curtains. Maybe this is just me. Also do you provide a tea towel for drying up dishes? I had to leave my washed cups on draining board.

The property was very clean, compact, bed very comfortable. Bathroom facilities, shower, hot water very good. It was raining so eating inside was a bit tight but workable, easier with fine weather dining outside

The bed is a bit to high for us small legged people. Thats all i can say was a struggle.
Ps
I think you may need to look at the door lock as it is a bit sticky.

There’s nothing not to like. We really enjoyed our stay in the Ryeland Retreat Shephards Hut, it had everything it needed, the bed was particularly comfy and the view outside was lovely. Perfect for a short stay.

The shepard's hut is very cosy and nicely located on the Godwick property, facing the fields. Everything was clean, well-crafted and really inviting. I was a bit irritated at first that the entire contact took place via email but all the necessary information was provided and James checked in via SMS to see if everything was alright. I booked the extra breakfast and they provided plenty. I do think that the huts might be a little small for two people for longer stays (mainly because of limited seating options) but I spent two cosy days there (despite the rainy weather).

A wonderful place to stay. Excellent facilities, very comfortable, a home from home with a touch of luxury. Delicious breakfast basket with generous portions, and cosy touches throughout. Would thoroughly recommend. Lovely view in the morning too. Thankyou for a great stay

We had the most wonderful weekend and I would definitely come back . The hut was everything you need, bed was so good and the peace and location were fab so relaxing. Coffee machine nice touch too.

We would definitely stay at Ryeland Retreat again and recommend it to friends and family. The facilities were amazing, very clean with a lovely countryside view. Add to that the use of a fire pit and BBQ with marshmallows to toast and blankets to watch the stars and a lovely breakfast ordered as extras - this makes it idyllic. We also used the cute little wood burner one night. The lovely addition of a hammock for the use of makes me want to go back and stay!!!! Thank you Godwick Hall Shepherd Huts - we had a fantastic time. We were also very lucky with the weather, thats the only thing that can't be guaranteed of course ! Deb Darrington
