Owl barn was perfect for what we needed. In a great location within a few minutes walk of morston quay, opposite morston hall and near by all the main places to go. It was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay.
We hadn't planned to go away during Christmas and New Year but saw a cancellation being offered and decided it was a fantastic opportunity. Halycon House is just simply breathtaking. The accommodation has everything you need and more, I felt so lucky to be staying there. It was incredibly peaceful and a great base for exploring the north Norfolk coast. Downside is the WiFi would regularly drop out but this gave time to pick up a book and enjoy life without input from modern technology. I would return in a heartbeat. It's also a nice size accommodation to share with family or friends. Highly re...more
This is a lovely property in a great location in central Wells -a few minutes walk and you're in the town centre and within easy walk of many lovely pubs and restaurants. The house itself had everything we needed and was cosy, well equipped, towels provided and even hand wash in all bathrooms. A few minor points - there were no shelves for the upper oven and there was damage to the end bath panel (although a sign had been placed over the damage so can only assume this was due to a recent guest). We had 3 cars within our party and therefore one car used the car park very close by to the house -...more
Beautiful little hideaway in a charming village setting. Only negative comment is that the sofa is not very comfortable but a minor issue. Local pub, The Red Lion, were very welcoming and the food excellent. Carol singing on Christmas Eve was lovely. Christmas tree set up in the cottage was a thoughtful touch, as well as the wood burner set and ready to be fired up. Would we visit again……yes definitely.
Great little cottage with a lovely garden leading down to a river. Good base for exploring North Norfolk
We enjoyed our few days and the cottage had everything we needed. Though it did not spoil our visit, the shower and cubicle needs some TLC.
Quiet, cosy cottage with everything that we needed and parking right outside the house. Walking distance to the village shop and pub. The generous welcome pack was much appreciated too! Would definitely recommend.
Stayed at the Wash House for New Year. A lovely clean and comfortable detached holiday home. In a perfect location for Holt and Cromer. Will definitely be returning.
Lovely cosy cottage, well-equipped and with interesting decor, clearly a loved and used cottage. We enjoyed our stay and being able to walk to the coast path and get a local bus so easily at the bus stop by the gate. Warm enough to have an afternoon in the little garden with interesting plants. Our arrival was slightly marred by finding the toilet pan was soiled and needed cleaning, and the kitchen floor and worktops seemed sticky. Using the electric hob posed problems initially as we are accustomed to a gas hob and the instructions left in the cottage folder were for a different make of...more
Cottage is located right on the main road which can get very busy and traffic noise really disturbing. I left a day early because I couldn't put up with the noise any longer. Inside was clean but a bit scruffy e.g. the curtains don't fit very well. The lighting isn't good, one small table lamp in each room which isn't bright enough to read by and the main overhead lights very bright and not particularly relaxing. The shower could do with a usable shelf as everything has to go on the floor. The little garden is pretty and secure for dogs and there is plenty of equipment.
Enjoyed our stay at Chaff House Location is great for coast and inland walks Kitchen is well supplied with equipment but limited food storage areas plus the lighting was very poor The lounge/dining area is spacious with large comfy sofas - this is the best feature of the property Upstairs is cramped with small bedrooms. Double mattress very uncomfortable ie needs replacing and very dusty underneath bed indicating hadn’t been cleaned for a while The house is linked to another so could occasionally hear neighbours
Spent 4 nights in Wells . Property in good location to walk to harbour and shops. On three floors so need to be mobile enough to manage stairs. There is a toilet on each floor. Beds are comfortable . Parking is a bonus , but isn’t allocated. A small car can be parked outside the garage but it’s tight. A good property for a family as lots of space
Large, comfortable and well equipped property in lovely small development. Location very convenient for the whole area.
A pleasant cottage in ( for us at least) a familiar and convenient location. Comfortable beds and well heated. Good size garden. Kitchen well equipped but cramped as a dining space, especially for four adults.
I stayed here with all ages of my family and had a fantastic time.there are 2 great pubs in walking distance, the coast is not far away too.the actual barns are fantastic and everything you need is there have booked again for next year as had such a good time
We had an excellent stay. The weather was pretty good as well . Rookery Farm is a good centre to visit from.
This was a great place to stay for exploring the North Norfolk area. Well equipped cottage, warm and comfortable.
We really enjoyed our holiday in Norfolk staying in Rose Cottage. We loved the location, the garden, the comfy bed and having two bathrooms. The cottage was well equipped and clean. We were slightly concerned about parking right on the road and would not have wanted to get children in and out of the car. Useful feedback to owners/managers - the seal around kitchen sink plug has perished meaning sink won't hold water. Needs replacement or provide washing up bowl. Garden shrubs and hedges were very overgrown and untidy. The garden would be amazing with a bit of a tidy up. Some fencing damage a...more
We loved our week at Christmas here. The Cottage was clean, comfortable, cosy and warm with great views of tge saltmarshes. The log burner wasn't used as the heating was very efficient. A wonderful spot for bird watching and walking the NNorfolk coast path. Salthouse Stores a must. Complimentary treats on arrival. Would go back anytime of the year.
We have stayed at April Cottage twice this year the first being in March my only criticism then was that a handrail would be good for the shower area in the bath. I was pleased to see that one had been installed upon our arrival for our latest stay. The Cottage has everything you need for your base in North Norfolk. Comfortable, quiet with plenty of room for 3 or 4 adults. It's well equipped and there is a decent pub within a short walk. Fakenham is only 10 minutes away where you will find a large Tesco for all your needs.
