We really enjoyed staying in this warm and cosy apartment. It was perfect for a short break in January. The apartment is extremely well-equipped and very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the log burner, the two ensuites, the books and guidebooks available and the convenient parking. The owners live next door and are very friendly and welcoming. The fruitcake and lemon curd gifts were delicious! The apartment is in a very convenient position to access different areas of the Yorkshire Dales.
Lovely cottage ideally situated. Dales nearby, Masham, brymor icecream worth a visit. Fountains Abbey just up the road. Easy walk into Ripon.. Coming again when I csn.
Spent a week at Badgers Holt and had an excellent time Was visiting with my wife and son Accommoation was first class and highly recommended. Town centre was just a short walk and provided all necessary services Many interesting walks from the property most notably along the River Ure Will hopefully return
My husband and I stayed here for Christmas again and it was perfect. Got tickets for Ripon Cathederal carol service and that was so very special. Such a memorable time, lots of singing and fun. Totally recommend. The Hay Loft is close to everything you need and a lot of special days out. Everything you need is provided in the cottage and Katherine and Peter are there to welcome you. You also get a welcome basket of goodies. Thank you so much, we will be back. Jackie and Chris xxx
This is a beautiful, comfortable upside down cottage in the sleepy village of East Witton. Take basics such as milk and tea bags as there is no shop.
This was our second time with Sandra and Les but this time in Beck Side rather than Bridge View. The cottage is beautifully designed, very cosy and comfortable, with every good thing provided for all your needs - including homemade brack! West Burton is becoming our "second home" and Beck Side will be a place to which we will return time and again!
Imagine your dream of a cottage in the country and you find most of it in Barton, friendly owners nearby, quiet setting, log fire, big comfortable bed, all mod cons for self catering, village green view, Inn, shop and cafe over the road, waterfall on entrance to the village, plenty of walks and quiet roads, lovely.
A clean, comfortable, cosy cottage in a peaceful village in beautiful surroundings. Perfect for walking and relaxing.
Really nice place in a hamlet, with a green & a pub across the road. The house has been maintained in a traditional manner which we loved!...however others may find it a little old fashioned Plenty of space for families with 2 lounges The kitchen was really well equipped and included a dishwasher, washing machine& tumble dryer A lovely garden and Summer furniture in the garage There is even a pantry in the kitchen, which is great We topped up the bird feeder and saw plenty of birds The mobile signal was intermittent but didnt bother us The bed linen and towels were fresh and...more
Another lovely break in Forge Cottage. We love this cottage as its so comfortable, clean,& the everything you need is so easily accessable. Wouldnt hesitate to return.
Very nice cosy cottage with a stunning hillside view. Very well equipped and helpful host next door.
Very clean and extremely spacious. Everything you’re likely to require is provided. Would definitely return. It’s just a shame most bookings are for 7 nights as we find that a bit too long
We have been visiting The Rookery for about 14 years now on and off (more on than off) . We have always been greeted and warmly welcomed by Sue on the day we arrive. What's not to love about this place, as soon as we get through those gates it feels like home for the week. It has everything we need and more. We have cooked home made bread in the aga and made some cheese too . We have welcomed two granddaughters over the past 3 years and are making special memories for them. Nadine and Joanne are very approachable and have been more than helpful on many occasions when we've need their help....more
We stayed at this cottage now for the 3rd time within 8 years. The location is calm and a good starting point for different activities. The house is kept clean and well-maintained. It has everything you need. However, some of the doors have warped to such an extent that they either won’t close at all or are very difficult to close. This should be really fixed.
This is an excellent property located near a local waterfall. A good place for walking. However, finding things under cover when it rains means long car trips.
Been so many times it must be a good property. Great access for dales, a village with all amenities.
We enjoyed our stay at Hazeley cottage. The cottage was clean and well stocked. The wi-fi can be weak in the bedrooms but worked well in the rest of the cottage and the garden. West Burton is a beautiful village. Sadly the village shop is closed again.
We love staying in the Dales and have visited Askrigg many times. It's great to see a new cottage with Country Hideaways that allows dogs as it means my mum could bring her little spaniel. The 4 of us (dog included) had a great week here enjoying 6 nice days of weather and one day of heavy rain to pep up the waterfalls. Really dark skies most nights which makes for great stargazing (my binoculars came in handy). The cottage had almost everything we need (we brought our own slow cooker as we knew there wasn't one) and the little things for dogs (treats, poo bags, towels) were very thoughtful. W...more
Just what we needed for a few days away Clean cottage but not sure I would like to spend a week though. Relatively few windows in the cottage so not lots of natural daylight
