Great place for a quiet weekend away with family. The house had everything and was very spacious. The hottub was a great addition. The area was lovely and the views were amazing.

The lodge was beautiful, clean and we had everything we needed. The hosts were brilliant at keeping in touch to ensure we had the best stay. The location was perfect, very peaceful with plenty to do/visit. Would 100% recommend and visit again!

Eleri’s Barn was absolutely beautiful! Excellent standard, especially being dog friendly. Comfy and cosy, if anything a little too warm for us but was perfect to have the door open for the dogs to roam around! Welcome hamper was an extra lovely touch. I would move in tomorrow!! Definitely recommend this property to all,it was clean and had all the facilities you would need for a short break, washing machine, dryer,dish washer and very good wifi. We all throughly enjoyed our stay and are booking again for Christmas. The hosts were excellent and looked after us very well.
We loved our stay at Stud Farm, the house was set up really well for large groups and had everything we needed. Its set up is modern and practical whilst keeping its rustic charm. The location was easy to get to (in spite of the snow!) and it had lovely grounds and views. The hosts were great at communicating and very helpful.
Absolutely stunning location, very quiet and relaxing which was we wanted. Where the house is the stony beach is minutes away but we walked up about 5/10 mins and found a sandy beach and it was so quiet and felt we were there on our own. The house is beautifully decorated and more than comfortable for a family of five !! Well done

We had an amazing time over the new year, the property is beautifully decorated and really clean. The space worked well as we were three separate families, lovely kitchen and dining area. The cottage had everything you could hope for in a self-catering stay. Nearby there is a shop, and some good pubs for food, all within a short drive. The surrounding area is lovely with countryside walks, and beautiful scenery. A great place for a stay with family.
This is our fourth year of booking with Holiday Wales and our first visit to the Cwm Chwefru Lake Cottages and we will be back!! The cottages were easy to find and the setting is just spectacular - snuggled in the middle of the valley. The accommodation had everything that we needed for our 3 night stay - including a full sized fridge freezer. We are an active bunch and the grounds included a lake to fish in, tennis courts and a swimming pool alongside the beautiful valley to hike through. This was my second stay in Poppy and I want to book again for a third stay. I love the location, it’s lovely and quiet. The hut is beautifully presented and clean. I love that the hot tub is covered, so when the rain was thrashing down I still enjoyed a hot tub session without my book getting soaked. Beautiful walks nearby it’s just a great hub to stay at. Already recommended to friends and they have booked to stay at this site/hut
Having stayed in a shepherd hut last year, we booked 2 pods for a family stay and it was as wonderful as the first. The pods had everything we needed and was comfortable and warm. We would definitely stay again.
Amazing stay! Cosy and very clean hut with the essentials. Great location with a short drive to town with local pubs and great outdoor walks.
Lovely little pod, very clean and tidy and stunning views. Hot tub did feel a bit colder than you expect as your quite high up and it was very windy outside and toilet seat was broken on arrival, other than that we had a lovely stay and would 100% rebook in future. Bed was very comfortable and shower was also good. The fresh eggs and milk in the fridge on arrival were a lovely little touch too. Definitely recommend.
We recently returned from our weekend stay at Primrose. It’s the second time we have stayed with holiday wales and on both occasions it’s delivered. Primrose is spacious with a lovely location, the entire garden is fenced so our dog could roam freely whilst we used the hot tub. A lovely weekend, would definitely recommend.
Hands down the best venue me and the mrz have stayed in , cant wait to go back again. Roll on next year when we get to go back

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Y Fedwen and already cant wait to go back. The pod was very clean and smelt beautiful upon entering. The views were incredible and despite the weather not being perfect, it didnt affect our enjoyment of the location. The hot tub was a lovely way to end our days of being out and about, mostly walking (we’d recommend visiting Lake Vyrmwy, the dam and the waterfalls!). Whilst we didnt meet the hosts, we were left a few welcome snacks and contact details were very accessible should we have needed them. Y Fedwen is definitely worth a visit!
My fiancé & I went hoping for a relaxing break from work and Fern was perfect. Surrounded by fields of sheep and cows, sunrise over the hill opposite the pod in the morning and clear skies at night to see stars from the hot tub!! Gorgeous accomodation, lovely owners, perfect surroundings <3
We booked a two night getaway last minute in the morning and got this gem of a place. It’s amazing, views for miles, hot tub and all the necessities you need and more. The converted horse trailer is amazing, extremely comfortable for us, a family of four with two small dogs. The hosts were very kind & helpful. The grounds were clean and secure. It is really lovely, we will return.
They most beautiful little slice of heaven. From the moment we arrived our shoulders dropped. We soaked in the hottub, gazing up at the stars and watching the red kites in the morning. I don't think I would ever tire of that view. Also that bed... wow so comfy. Lets just say Monday morning has been pretty painful. Thank you for everything

We had the most lovely bank holiday weekend staying in a shepherd’s hut in Wales. It was incredibly peaceful and tranquil — the perfect escape to switch off and relax. The hut was spotless, cosy, and had everything we needed. Waking up to the breathtaking views each morning was a real highlight. We left feeling completely refreshed and would definitely come back!
I planned this getaway trip for a birthday surprise for my boyfriend and he loved it ! The views were magnificent, the rooms were so comfy, it literally had everything we needed. Most definitely will be returning
We stayed at the Hayloft with our chidren and grand children for our sons 40th birthday and had a fabulous time. It is a lovely and well equipped house.

Such a lovely stay!! So happy we found this cute little pod for a chilled few days in the countryside. Location was absolutely gorgeous, with sheep and lambs just outside of the pod. The view, and being able to sit and enjoy this view from the hot tub, was amazing. Communication and customer service was great. The pod was clean, well kept and well equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed such a peaceful few days here and would highly recommend.
Wowed by the place on arrival…restored by the doorstep views of fields, hills & sheep. Loved the amenities inside & out. Everything well maintained & well presented. Loved the homely touches of framed pictures of the area & blankets…quality items in the kitchen & throughout. This has been our second stay at this location, although this time we stayed at Highland view. the reason we came back is because of the large fenced garden area with wire mesh so the dog can be let loose without a worry. Bed was very comfy with clever storage underneath, hot tub was perfect, and the caravan seems new and well kept. Excellent views as well and we will definitely come again! A couple of suggestions that can improve the visitor experience: The smoke alarm went off too easily, we were just doing some toast and eggs for breakfast and had to open both doors and the windows. Booked a weekend away for the wife’s birthday and couldn’t have picked a better location. Accommodation was great, the hot tub was awesome and the scenery was amazing. Definitely going again.
This is our 2nd visit to tents. We stayed at ‘The Otter’ for 2 nights in July 2025. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Only downside is the amount of flies and wasps but this was to be expected when it’s warm and sunny! Accommodation had fly tape and swatter which helped. Bbq & Hot tub was a great addition to our stay - hot tub is covered by a hedge for added privacy. Toilet facilities cleaned daily but would flood easily due to shower curtain and other guests not using it properly.
Our stay here was amazing from start to finish!! Extra special touches were a lovely suprise! There was lots to do just a short drive away. The hobitat, the views, the alpacas….everything was really great! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
This is one of the best places we have stayed in Wales. Easy to book and pay for. Excellent accommodation with all necessities at hand. Ideal place to use as a base for touring the Elan Valley.
The Ginger Nut did not disappoint, very clean and very welcoming. We used it as a base to explore with shops, pubs, and restaurants all within walking distance, if you just want to relax and switch off.
We have just returned from spending Christmas here as a family of 6. The property is beautiful. The photos don't do it justice. So spacious, clean and homely. Property is well furnished with everything you could possibly need. The owner was very responsive in the run up to our holiday and throughout. We had a slight problem with the heating during our stay and a plumber was sent out within hours to rectify the issue. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property and we will be looking to return in the future.
we stayed at Kestrel cottage 4 adults (friends) and two boys aged 10 and 12 on the 8th December. It was a quiet peaceful place, beautiful scenery and it was an exceptionally clean property to stay in. All the equipment we had the need of was provided. The place was spotless. Very rural but we were happy with that. We had taken dvd’s to use and board games to place. The swimming pool was lovely, sauna was a welcome addition too. We would all return in a heart beat. Great value for money and a perfect place to unwind

We stayed in the Rabbit Warren for a break from life and a time to unwind. The area is quiet and beautiful, the alpacas were very entertaining, allowed you to fed them from your hand. Claire the owner was very helpful and welling to chat and give advice on where to visit and places to eat. The kitchen is well a pointed , it even has an air-frier A great place to visit
We enjoyed our stay at Bluebell so much! The lodge is perfect and in the most stunning location. If you need anything from the shops they’re only a short drive away. We will definitely choose to stay here again, thank you!
Had a lovely stay at Celyn. Booked 2 nights for a relaxing time away and I was not disappointed! The hot tub was ready to go as soon as I arrived and the views and tranquility made it absolutely perfect.

We really enjoyed our stay! The place was clean and cosy. Checking in and out was easy and all the information we needed was provided beforehand. There is a handy guide to use upon arrival about the accomdation and area. It was lovely to be able to have our dogs there and it had plenty of space for them to run around.

A roomy, modern lodge. High quality fittings and furnishings. Lots of gadgets but short on user manuals. A few more cooking and food preparation items would have been useful i.e. mixing bowls, butter dish, larger frying pan, baking dishes, smaller roasting tins, sharp kitchen scissors. We enjoyed the superb hot tub facility with a useful new pergola for shade and weather protection. We would definitely return in any season.

We had a lovely time staying in the Daisy pod for a few days. Very well designed to maximise space and having the closed off garden was excellent for our dog. The hot tub is slightly exposed to the other gardens but once the bushes have grown a bit , I think it would be more hidden. The only draw-back is the humming noises from the heating/hot tub at night, they can be quite loud at times. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this place and cannot wait to come back.
Just got back from a birthday weekend stay in The Kingfisher and it was absolutely wonderful! The location is stunning, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the facilities were kept clean. The hot tub was gorgeous, already at 40 degrees when we arrived and checked throughout our stay to keep it perfect. The staff were all lovely and so helpful. We explored Elan Valley, which is only about a 10–15 minute drive from the campsite, and enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast at The Crown in Rhayader. It was a great property. Peaceful and quiet location; private location not overlooked in the garden, which was lovely. Enjoyed the outdoors due to afew good days' weather, and the hot-tub was excellent. Beds were very comfortable and nice bedding. Having 2 bathrooms worked very well, as it meant my sister could have her own bathroom, and my husband and I the other one. We had a fabulous stay for my husband's birthday. Ivy's way was cosy and comfortable with everything you needed. The location is fantastic, what a view! Just a short drive to the town and lots of super walks. We enjoyed seeing the goats and highland cows wandering about from the decking.

We stayed during February half term at Beacon view barn, our daughter and two teenage granddaughters stayed next door at the same time. The views are amazing and fantastic, especially of hills and sheep. There are many narrow and sometimes steep country lanes all around the location. The lanes are quieter being the location is rural. Beacon View Barn has everything facility wise that you would expect, including an honesty box is case you have forgotten anything (toiletries wise). The prancing pony is a beautiful little hideaway from busy life. There are some lovely walks a short drive from the farm as well as directly from the farm itself. The pod itself is warm and cosy. The hot tub was a lovely way to relax in the evenings overlooking the countryside and listening to the stream right in your garden. Prancing pony is at the back so it feels completely private. The hosts were there if you needed anything but left you to it otherwise. If you need to fully relax and reset this is the perfect stay for you.

The cabin itself was perfect, enough room for us all, perfect location and clean! It might be worth looking into the issue with flies, it was uncomfortable at times and made preparing food very difficult. We struggled with the outdoor seating as the picnic table was very uneven and we couldn’t even use the table and chairs as they were broken and dangerous. This was disappointing as we had hoped to sit outside to eat and enjoy the sunset. The patio was also very dirty, and slippery when coming out of the hot tup. Panteg is super cosy and perfectly equipped. The location is great too, within walking distance from the main village and has so many other scenic walking routes around. The hot tub was a great addition as it was nice to relax and unwind at the end of the day. The hosts were very welcoming and on hand if you needed anything. Would highly recommend Panteg and will definitely be back in the future.

Lovely stay at the kingfisher- host couldn’t do more - very helpful, decorated the hut including a cake for my girlfriend and offered to be a taxi for us if needed. Was lovely to get away with no signal and chill in lovely surroundings- even the thunderstorms didn’t ruin our weekend. Would go back again. Feedback from girlfriend- send the dogs down to say hello more often :)

This was a beautiful find, plenty of room for us and 2 small cockerspaniels. Everything is so well throughout and there is everything there that you would need, there were dog bowls and towels for the dogs, lovely views, hubby loved the hot tub, it was lovely to chill out there and it is a close drive away to Elan Valley, which is what we went for, there is a cute village so you can pick up any essentials or supermarkets not too far if you wanted more of a bigger shop. We loved it and would recommend to other's.
Absolutely stunning place cannot fault anything. I would visit again hopefully in the summer. Very clean and tidy. I didn’t have a pen to rate the house keeper. But she did a fantastic job.

I didn’t bring a hair dryer as I thought there would be one there. There were no coat hangers to hang clothes. We really enjoyed our stay, we had the most perfect weather all weekend too.

We've just returned home from our little break away at Wyn's Barn and it was everything we needed and more. I originally booked 2 nights but extended it by an extra night which was no hassle at all and I'm so glad I did. I received a text from Claire on the morning of our booking and I text her when we left. I didnt need to contact them during our stay but I felt that If I needed to then I would be in good hands to do so. (I was tempted a couple of times as i wanted to pet the Alpacas maybe next time!) When we first arrived we were wowed, the bath outside, the hot tub, it looked amazing. Sadly after being there for a few hours the reality of it hit, there was a terrible smell of sheep poo constant, making you not really want to go outside. The outside bath was completely damaged therefore unable to be used. - which is very disappointing given this was probably one of the selling points. The indoor shower would go from freezing cold to scalding hot without any warning. My son really burnt himself. We had a 2 night stay at mountain view myself my wife and our puppy Labrador. Cleanliness very good and location not far from the town. The enclosed garden was one of the things we appreciated the most as it was safe for the dog with plenty of room for her to run around and exercise. Location was very picturesque, hot tub very welcome too and would definitely visit again.
Our stay was brilliant. To begin, the location and view were beautiful with the mountains and sheep in the fields surrounding the lodge. The lodge was great, had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was AMAZING. The small touches like the fresh milk and welcome hamper were unexpected but lovely. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
Views were amazing , pod was warm and clean . The garden area that was secure was perfect for our dog he loved it ! As others had said there is a noise from the pump of the hot tub when you go to bed but it didn’t bother us .
We stayed in ‘Hedgehogs View’ for two nights, the location and view were second to none. The privacy of this specific accommodation was perfect as it’s at the top/back of the other ‘hobbit holes’ , so when using the hot tubs and walking around you’re not visible to anybody else. Our initial perspective was that the accommodation was beautiful , great facilities and well styled . Once we’d settled we noticed a lot of black mould spots in the main bedroom , above the bed area and dotted over the ceiling. What a fantastic farmhouse this is for a large group. Totally fulfilled every expectation we had for my 70th birthday with family and friends. Even tho it was a cold month the house was always lovely and warm. The hot tub was a great bonus and we had lots of fun in it, always hot and well maintained. Beautiful accommodation in stunning surroundings. Very helpful hosts. Only one small criticism is the fridge is very small especially if more than two people staying for over 2days. Also the seating area indoors not cosy. However, the other facilities were excellent and the visiting goats were wonderful to see. An absolutely fantastic place to stay and relax. We enjoyed a 2 night stay in this cool tiny home. Our 4 year old loved it and didn’t want to leave. The storage and facilities were very cleverly laid out. I did wonder if there were dining chairs hidden away somewhere…but never found them. It would be good to have a wet weather dining option (other than on the knee on the sofa). What can I say been to the location before but this time had a bigger lodge. The lodge has everything you would ever need for your stay. You only need the weather on your side as we didn’t this time that was a pity. Could help with better instructions for the appliances but everything was great
The Heather pod was just as expected, very clean with all the amenities needed for a short stay. The scenery was beautiful and it’s in a really quiet rural spot which is just what we wanted and there were plenty of places to go walking so the hot tub was perfect afterwards!
Lovely short stay with my teenagers to relax in the countryside (and the hot tub) for a few days. The lodge is really well equipped and comfortable. The views from the porch and the hot tub are incredible. We were lucky enough to have some lovely clear warm days. So much to do in the local area as well. So a definite recommend.
We stayed in otters over Easter weekend. We loved the stay and will be returning. The local village is a short drive away and has pubs, shops, cafes etc. The highlight of the trip for my children was waking up to goats at the door
Lovely modern lodge in a beautiful surrounding of all the mountains, creating a peaceful stay. Lovely hamper left of crisps, marshmallows and a bottle of lemonade (ideal for just 1 person though). Plenty of plug sockets throughout. However, never met the owners at all during the stay, no communication from themselves to ensure everything was okay checking in etc. Made contact regarding hot tub as it became unbearably hot and was simply told to take lid off for half hour before, bluntly. (didnt work as the hot tub was set on maximum to keep heating up and there was no adnusting control panel)...more
Beautiful setting heron glamping tent end tent so extra room ideal for the children to play. The children loved the adventure Could do with seating outside on the grass for sunny days to sit. Helpful staff when on site. Hot tub didn’t reach to temperature so only had one sitting which I was disappointed with when the owner came to sort it out. Tried to have a shower but the water was freezing in the shower cubicle.
We loved our stay here, the remote location was perfect for us, peaceful yet only a short drive to shops if needed. The highlight was definitely the night sky, being able to sit in the hot tub under the stars and even see the Milky Way was incredible! The perfect place to escape to enjoy the peace and quiet, set in the rolling green hillside. Everything you need for a self chartering get away! Would highly recommend.
The pros - The hut was very well organised and equipped with everything you needed. The views and location were amazing. The cons - The hut was very dirty and needed a good clean. There was a spiders nest in the pull out bed, and dirt and hairs all down the side. The bed had missing slats and mouldy underneath the mattress. The filter in the hot tub needed replacing as it smelt damp. If it was cleaned I would recommend to others.
