From start to finish, our stay was absolutely fantastic! The booking process was seamless, with the staff offering incredibly helpful and prompt assistance. Upon arrival, we were blown away by the house—it was stunning, spotless, and radiated a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The little touches, like the thoughtful gifties, really added a personal and charming flair to the experience. Though we were sad to leave, we were so impressed that we've already been in touch with the wonderful team at the estate to plan our next visit. Highly recommend.
The East Wing is a beautifully decorated, spacious property that is equipped with everything you need and more.
Really lovely cottage. We all thought it was excellent. Could do with bigger pans and cafetière for 8 people.
We had a great time at Laundry Cottage. We arrived to find a beautifully presented, well appointed and pristinely clean property. Very thoughtful welcome pack. The hot tub was a hit with everyone as well. Great enclosed garden for the dogs and lots of lovely places to walk them. We were there the weekend of the Galloway Country Fair and we were very kindly given free entry wristbands bands for the event. This made the children’s weekend, they enjoyed every minute of it, then a short walk back to relax in the hot tub. Superb!
We took both Queensberry and the Mains Cottage next door for a holiday with two friends. Both properties were clean and well appointed with plenty of space. There was lots to do at the Castle and in the wider landscape with woodland, river and hill walks and bike rides. Thornhill is a great town to have on the doorstep with a number of useful and nice shops. Would book again.
Stayed at the cottage due to the Galloway Country Fair ,but also took 5 days holiday to visit and explore the local area. fabulous stay , looking to do the same in 2026
After a wonderful family visit for Christmas. We returned to enjoy the summer experience at drumlanrig. Fantastic time and enjoyment for all. From age 71 to age 7. We enjoyed biking, running, adventure playground, walks in the garden, Sunday roast dinner, board games in the lodge. We also enjoyed a swim in the rain at new Cumnock pool and a dinner out in Moniave Italian. Apartment is home away from home - we only live half an hour away but the time out and tranquility is just perfect. Will definitely enjoy a third time here. Can’t recommend enough.
