There was plenty of room for the 12 of us staying for a long weekend. The location and facilities are good. It was nice being quite close to the town and so many great local pubs. An area for improvement would be the booking system for the various on-site facilities. I think if there are twelve of you staying together you ought to be able to block at least 2 hours for the court/pool area. It's very difficult for you all to be able to use it during an hour period. Yes, you can book another hour later in the day or earlier in the morning but that then causes issues with other activities you have planned.

We had a fantastic break away James Parlour is a great home from home. Everyone enjoyed their swimming pool, football field and sports court. James parlour has its own garden which wraps around the accommodation which my son throughly enjoyed running round. The beds are very comfortable we all slept very well. They provide lots of plates, cutlery and lots of different cooking pots and pans and cooking utensils. Would definitely come back.

Our party ranged in age. As well as the adults there were 2 young children and a baby. The accommodation was spacious enough and well appointed though I would reiterate the need to bring (a lot) your own towels. The information provided by the hosts was comprehensive and they were very responsive to enquiries. The children loved the outdoor playthings and the safe, grassy space around the property meant they could play out. The weather wasn’t very good so we didn’t make use of the outdoor seating which would have further enhanced the experience. The kitchen was well equipped. There is a communal BBQ which we used. I have 2 observations; there should be extra hand towels and bath mats provided in the bathrooms. Everybody used the downstairs toilet but usually didn’t have their ‘own’ hand towel with them. Because the weather was poor and because it was summer there was no heating, so the towels didn’t dry out. There is a communal dryer with an extra charge to use. We all enjoyed our stay there.

James’s parlour provided a perfect setting for our large family gathering- the swimming pool and sports area were a real draw for our younger members and the countryside offered some lovely walks. The property was well equipped and comfortable, and James and Emma were very prompt and helpful in their responses to any queries.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at James's Parlour. It provided everything that we needed to make our few days special. It was, overall, very spacious with everything that could possibly be needed in the kitchen. We made good use of the pool, sports area and the childrens' play area.

If there was anything at all that could be improved upon, perhaps a king size bed could be put in the en-suite bedroom.

Emma's suggestion of a Dine a Design Catering meal was excellent. We could not praise Francis enough for the private dining experience. It made our evening complete - good food, and well worth the money.

My family and I enjoyed our visit to Alkington Grange Barns and appreciated the comfort of James’s Parlour. The swimming pool and sports facilities were an added bonus. Thank you for the welcome and well organised holiday retreat.

I had a special Birthday so wanted to get all the family together. James's Parlour was perfect for this. Plenty of space and well equipped with everything we needed for the baby right through to the Grandparents.
Facilities were an added bonus, especially the new football field that the teenagers loved.
Lots to do locally, if there for longer we would explore more and excellent pub The Bull and Dog for food.
Will recommend and will be back

James’s Parlour easily accommodated 12 of us in comfort for a long weekend. The barn was spotlessly clean and well equipped, whilst the well maintained pool and outdoor play areas kept the children busy and were enjoyed by all. In addition the large garden/paved area attached to the barn was great for relaxing and eating alfresco. I would have no hesitation in recommending James’s Parlour and would certainly stay there again.

As the organiser of this break, I was relieved that this cottage met everyones expectations. For those with children, they had everything they required to cater for their children in the kitchen and the swimming pool, sports court, play area and surrounding fields/walks were excellent and well used. For the older members of the group, the cottage was comfortable and pleasant to be around. We all enjoyed a spot of bird watching and a visit to Hawkstone Follies, which suited all ages. The owners had been helpful too, as I required some guidance on suitable places to eat locally , the Bull & Dog which suited our group perfectly

We had a lovely Autumn Stay in James's Parlour. Its a great location for the whole family to meet up from all around UK. We all had some lovely walks, as there is a great pack of walking info in the cottage. I recommend the canal walk. The kids enjoyed the pool and the play area, which was a bonus. Great meal at Ruebens
Great stay thanks again for all your help Emma !!

We stayed in James's Parlour for a large family get together (7 adults, 5 kids and 1 infant) the cottage had plenty of space for us all, and was very comfortable and well equipped, right down to the cutlery for the little ones!
The on site facilities were excellent, the little ones loved the play area and the older ones had a game of footy and the indoor pool a great bonus to tire out the children. We visited Bewilderwood and the ice cream farm which again were both excellent for the time of year.
Some of the family visited Whitchurch, the local town, which was lovely and had a good selection of cafes and shops to wander around. We had an indian take away one night delivered to us.
We even fitted in a night time walk to do some star gazing, we saw a shooting star and heard an owl!!! so yes, all in all a great stay, which all the family enjoyed - we will be back
