The Neidpath Castle group of five holiday stays, offers comfortable, interesting places to unwind and from which to explore the beautiful Scottish Borders.
We returned to Townhead after our first stay two years ago. Everything was absolutely loevely again - still one of the most beautiful cottages we know!
We spend one night at Neidpath Castle and had, what felt like an authentic experience in a Scottish castle. It’s truly special to know that we enjoyed an evening by the fire that people did the same 600 years ago.
Such a treat roaming around the castle and taking a walk by the river.
We opted for the dinner hamper, which involved some preparation by us but the meal was really great. Brought our own wine and Prosecco.
The items provided for breakfast were excellent. Croissants, fresh bread, berries and yogurt, amazing smoked salmon, juice, coffee and tea made for a great breakfast. Thank ...more
Barns Bothy is charming and quirky, as beautiful inside as the surroundings. It was also very well equipped for a relaxing stay. We loved its cosy and stylish character and the bedroom with its sky-watching windows. The location provided some stunning walks, especially along the river to the castle. We are planning to return.
The Barns Library has been beautifully designed and furnished and is in a perfect location to explore the Tweed Valley. It's reasonably well equipped and is basically clean but would benefit from deep spring clean to get rid of all of the cobwebs and maintain a high standard. Unfortunately for us there was building work taking place throughout our stay. The Barns Library and the courtyard is also a key working part of the Neidpath Estate and so we were woken up by 7:30am, (8:20am on bank holiday Monday) either by the building contractors or people working on the estate (strimmers etc). Barns Tower was everything we could have imagined. That being said it can be challenging to stay there as there is a lot of steps to contend with as every living space is on a different level. Think of a lighthouse. Loved how it was decorated in period furnishings to give you the feel of being transported back centuries. There are a few modern conveniences though. The grounds are truly amazing and so peaceful. If your up to having a very unique experience this is the place. We're so very happy we did it.
The Neidpath Barmkin was a wonderful cottage next to the Neidpath Castle where we celebrated our son's wedding. The cottage was nicely appointed, charming and cozy. It has a spacious livingroom and kitchen, and 3 bedrooms each with their own bathroom. We would not hesitate to stay there again. Also, the staff at Neidpath are kind and attentive. Definitely recommend!
