This was our sixth holiday at Keepers Cottage and despite the weather being mostly wet and cold we had a lovely fortnight, revisiting old favourite and finding new destinations. Straloch is a truly beautiful place whatever the weather and we feel calm and relaxed as soon as we arrive. The dogs love it too. I’ve always given Keepers straight 5s in all categories but it’s been difficult to do that this year because, after six years of visiting every May, we notice that the ‘condition’ of the property is getting a little ‘tired’ and it could do with a refresh/redecorating. Straloch Estate is a haven for nature and Stalker's Lodge is the perfect base from which to enjoy it. Penny's cooking (home cooked meals left in the fridge ready to reheat) is a real highlight, as is the abundant birdlife, beavers, hares, pine martens and more. When the skies are clear, there's an exceptionally good view of the stars.
