Cosy two bedroom cottage in the centre of Castletown, a lovely part of the Isle of Man. Great location for exploring, everything is within a short walking distance, and there are frequent buses to the airport, Douglas and Port Erin. Enough space downstairs with a kitchen/lounge and a lounge/dining room, but both double bedrooms small with very little storage space. Floors and surfaces were clean, but a lot of cobwebs above. Kitchen was well equipped but too many cups and glasses chipped or cracked. Island Escapes were helpful in allowing us to stay two extra nights due to the ferries being cancelled during Storm Kathleen, but the price had risen sharply, and they weren't that keen to replenish domestic supplies. We ran out of loo paper on the Sunday evening! So, a nice stay, but room for improvement.

Hi Mike Thank you for your review. Please accept our apologies for the cobwebs and chipped glassware. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and presentation, so these points have been taken onboard and will be rectified. I understand there was some confusion around the additional nights required and the rate at which you were charged. I am glad to hear that this has all been put to rights and your overpayment refunded. I hope you choose to stay with us again! Kind regards Nick

Staying at Mariana’s cottage was a really lovely experience. We stayed over the Christmas period and not only was there a Christmas tree up, everything was provided for. It is a cosy, comfortable and homely cottage and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of booking it. Perfect location in the town centre as well.

A characterful cottage .

Mariners Cottage is a lovely old cottage , which lhas been tastefully extended and modernised. It is excellently placed, in the centre of Castletown , near the central square , castle and harbour. You can see the from the bedrooms .
There is some outdoor seating and table too. The skylight and stable door at the back are nice features.
I did have a few quibbles , which the owners and Island Escapes responded to very quickly.

On the downside , I do think it very expensive. I also think providing no washing powder and only 3 dishwasher tabs , especially considering the cost of rental , was not generous. They did provide more dishwasher tabs , as I complained. I left some in the box to be of help to other customers!
