The cottage was very well equipped and the welcome pack was very comprehensive including bread milk jams fruit juice and chocolate biscuits. There were also fresh eggs (but no egg cups!). Nice touches which included bottled water in the bedroom. A good dog walk along a disused railway line which could be accessed directly from the cottage,
I booked this for a colleague visiting the island. Booking process very straight forward, communication excellent. The visitor was very happy with the accommodation, they loved it. Perfect location too.
Our second time staying at Quilliams Lodge and it did not disappoint. Lynn is a fantastic host and ensures the property is well stocked with essentials and treats! We had a faultless stay and I'm sure we'll be back again next year.
My sister and I really enjoyed our recent stay in Aer Varrey. It was the perfect location with incredible views of Peel bay and the Castle. Everything was perfect for us and so thoughtfully provided - from the greatly appreciated bread, butter, jam, tea coffee and milk to the surprising little touches like the pillow and room sprays. It was a real home from home, with comfortable beds, amazing shower, great space and everything we needed. I hope we'll be returning again next year if not before!
Tucked away in the north of the island this is a lovely place to stay if you want somewhere peaceful whilst (provided you have a car) not far from lots of IoM attractions. Communication in advance of our stay was excellent, as was the warm welcome from Shirley and John, who were discreet hosts but very helpful if we had a query. A comfy lounge, a well appointed and equipped kitchen (I swear everything you could need had been thought of and provided), a good sized bedroom (personally the bed gave me a touch of backache, but that's my back, not a comment on how comfortable the bed was), and a ...more
A delightful cottage, which provided everything we needed, in a stunning rural location; the views from the property really are outstanding. You are surrounded by wildlife (ideal for birdwatchers) and the antics of the farm animals will keep you entertained. The hosts are lovely and very helpful.
We loved every moment of our stay at "The Pines". The bungalow was very comfortable and even more spacious than it looks on-line. it was well equipped, the beds were great, quality fittings throughout and located in beautiful settings overlooking Port Erin and Port St Mary. Great choice of shops and eating places within easy reach. Convenient parking adjacent and whilst we were there, plenty of sunshine to sit outside and enjoy the views. Could not have wished for anything more.
This is a great place to stay. A lovely house, well furnished and very clean and homely. All the necessities for a weeks stay included so no need to rush to the shops to buy butter, loo rolls and dishwasher tablets etc. Lyn, the owner, was very nice and helpful, meeting us on arrival and helpful with suggestions for taxis, restaurants etc. All in all, a great place to stay
This was my second visit and again I was very impressed with the cleanliness and quality of this accommodation. It is very comfortable, the views are excellent, it’s difficult to tear yourself away from the windows. The welcome of fresh bread, butter, milk biscuits and cheese is lovely, the beds are comfortable and the owners so helpful if you have any queries. Coming back again in the summer and will probably make this an annual visit.
I am intermittently working on the island and the downside to working away from home is missing home comforts, until I found Cosy Nook and the Brooghfort cottages site, it’s beautiful and feels like home when I am working say. I can bring my family including my fur baby Edith. Lynn is a fantastic host nothings too much trouble and really cares about guests, it’s warm and you can control the temperature of your own heating as some of the other properties that I have stayed in on the island control the heating !! Ian the maintenance guy is amazing too nothings too much trouble. The hot tub is pe...more
Beautiful self catering house. lovely gardens the house was really big. Port erin was lovely. Everything you needed and more for self catering It was beautiful start to finish
We have just returned from our second stay at Wisteria Cottage. Immaculate property set in a tranquil location with access to gardens and fields. The hosts were friendly and helpful and we even got to help feed the new little sheep within the lavendar farm. Property provides easy access to the north of the island, with Ramsay only ~ 10mins drive away (were you can catch the electric tram). We had a lovely time and would not hesitate to recommend if you are looking for some peace and quiet during your stay on the Island.
OK. We are biased and state it up front. We have been staying here for a week for five times. It is lovely that we just keep going back once a year to escape the 'Long Tail race'. Non manxies can look that up. Quiet. Peaceful. Comfortable.Well equipped. What is there not to like?
Absolutely loved our little stay in Seafarers cottage, Castletown. The cottage was immaculate, location perfect, parking easy …. Even the weather was amazing. We will be back . Thanks Island Escapes
The cottage was brilliant, amazing spot, clean and cozy. Tim and Jane (sorry if the names are wrong) were extremely friendly and helpful, allowing us to check out a little later for a lazy morning. Genuinely, the only bit of feedback I could give is that the dishwasher had dirty plates and glasses so did smell quite a bit when opened. Other than that small thing it was a wonderful stay.
Amazing house stunning views everything you needed was there a perfect escape Would definitely return
This house was perfect! Extremely clean, beautifully furnished and comfortable. Kitchen had everything you need, nice to have bread, butter and milk, along with tea/coffee and welcome chocolate! The bath towels were so soft and it was lovely to have The White Company toiletries. The outside sun terrace was also good with seating for 5 people and a wall heater. All 3 bedrooms were of a good size. We had 3 cars with us and parking was never a problem! I would highly recommend.
After staying at Elgin last year we were so impressed we ventured back a year later to celebrate a special anniversary. We have fallen in love with the place and it is a real treat for us to be able to go up and spend some time here and enjoy the north of the island. I am sure we will be back to experience this very special location.
My husband and the guests that came with him said it was fantastic great location as they were on a fishing trip .they didn’t want to come home and they loved the island and the house hopefully will be booing again thank you
Absolutely gorgeous house, so well designed with plenty of space for everyone. Stunning views no matter the weather. Definitely need a car to make the most of the island
Short break for the 2 of us plus 2 small dogs. Can’t fault it to be honest. The owners are just next door and are available, friendly but not intrusive. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we would need to enhance our stay including a great games room with table tennis and pool. It’s quite windy up there but to compensate for that the views are fabulous. It’s a great area to explore the island. Overall a pleasant, clean and welcoming place to stay. Tip: bring a paper copy of the directions as when we got up here both our Wi-fi zoned out and we were winging it a bit because the ...more
Clearly a very recent project. The property is very clean and well done. Plenty of parking, very secure location. Amazing views across the mountain and coast. After arriving at 2am due to delayed ferry it was a great gesture to have milk, tea, coffee, bread and butter left for arrival. We were on bikes which made it easy to get around the island, not far from the creg to get on the tt track. There is a bus stop within half a mile we used once. One improvement I would recommend would be to add a sign on the main road for moaney woods. Was a little awkward to find in the dark and ra...more
Get spot to stay with all the family for a big birthday celebration. Very well laid out spacious property with an amazing outside deck and off road car port. Beautifully designed inside on numerous levels with the beach literally on your dooorstep
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kate’s Corner Cottage, part of Broogh Fort Cottages. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable, and ideally located for exploring the area. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional customer service from Lynn. Despite our late arrival, she kindly waited to greet us, gave us a quick orientation, and even provided guidance when our satnav didn’t lead us directly to the door. The digital welcome brochure was outstanding—comprehensive, detailed, and incredibly helpful. It made everything so much easier to navigate. The cottage was one of the very few...more
We had a wonderful time at the Croft. It was in a good location and the house was comfortable and clean ( although the windows could do with cleaning) but apart from that it was fantastic
We stayed for eight nights over a housemove, and Langton Cottage was a splendid base to keep coming back to. Everything worked and the four of us were very comfortable during our visit. Grateful to you, Kevin!
We were astounded when we saw the incredible location, the beautiful peninsula, the lighthouse, the whitewashed cottages, the log burner. Isle of Man is so special, everyone we met was so friendly, the beautiful beaches, the Laxey Wheel and the tram ride to the top of the mountain, the calf of man and seals on the rocks, Ice cream and coffee shops, The weather was sunny and we walked the coastal path. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage.
Glen Chass Farmhouse is just a perfect place for families and couples alike. With walks starting just outside of the house without the need of a car and the beach, playground and steam train in Port Erin just a short drive. Ideally located for touring the island with most places no more than a 30 minute drive. We found no problem with parking everywhere we went. The house itself is ideal, three good size bedrooms, good size and well equipped kitchen, cosy living room/diner with a log burning fire. Plenty of information on places to go and visit and a marvellous selection of books to read. ...more
We enjoyed a lovely week at Queenie Cottage. It’s comfortable, with everything that we needed. We enjoyed the large, light and airy kitchen - didn’t use the outside seating area though, but only because of the weather. Easy stroll from the cottage to the seafront and Pub - but still quiet enough and peaceful even during TT Qualifying week! We were really grateful for the allocated parking space just round the corner, as Peel was really full, and even locals had a hard time finding a space for the car. A special Thanks! to Island Escapes Team: we wouldn’t have been able to use the shower...more
This is a lovely place to stay. It had everything we needed (2 couples) and the view from the living room is fantastic. It felt as if the house had very recently been done up and to a very high specification. Very well equipped. The record player is a lovely addition! The Isle is relatively small and everywhere is easy to access. We had a car but the public transport system is very good too. We felt you could easily see the Island without a car. We were very lucky with the weather so we definitely saw the Island at its best. Highlights were coastal walks to Port Erin and the Sound (gr...more
We booked Saltwood with very little reviews it was new to island escapes. After staying at the property it was a really loverly property. We were 4 adults a 3 year old and 1 year old and it worked perfect for us. It would be slightly cramped with more people. The views are stunning with some amazing walks. For a little more to do driving’s somewhere or getting a taxi is required, or a short walk to get the train. Highly reccomend this property and island escapes. We have booked for next year
Cascadia house is perfect for a stay in Ramsey. It’s comfortable, beautifully presented & if you’re lucky enough to catch some good weather, as we were, the back garden is a real sun trap to relax & catch up on those books you’ve been meaning to read !
A very comfortable and well equipped cottage located on the outskirts of Peel. The accommodation was a single storey cottage on a small farm with a lovely terrace overlooking fields. It was quiet and peaceful with 2 bedrooms sleeping 4 adults with an suite bathrooms. Parking was outside the door with keynote access. The supermarket was a 5 min drive away. Although the owners were in the house next door they were on hand and enquired if everything was okay. Very highly recommended.
2nd time here Home from home and much more Wonderful hosts Peaceful location but convenient for all amenities Would highly recommended
Royal 1 was our base for 6 days hiking the IoM coastal path. It was a joy to return each day to such a peaceful, comfortable, well equipped home from home each day. Amy, our hostess, was delightful and very helpful.
Stunning cottage in a great location. Living accommodation great, all you need in a kitchen, outside space fantastic.
We visited as a family of 5. The Swallows was the perfect location and very spacious. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We would definitely visit again.
Lovely touches in the house. Every thing was at hand. Help full owner. Suggest trying to get more air flow in the basement as smelt a little musty.
Great location Very clean Amazing house A very welcome supply of milk bread butter and cheese on arrival Great facilities We had an amazing stay Thank you would definitely come again and recommend to friends
We visited the island to see the greatest show on earth that is the TT. Fantastic house and location for touring on motorbikes around the island. Farm house and location made our stay very comfortable.
This property was boked for colleagues who were carrying out essential works in the area. The accommodation and location were perfect for their needs. The house was large enough to comfortably accommodate 3 engineers who all appreciate their own rooms and space. Communication with Island Escapes is always a pleasure, they provide plenty of information on the property and the surrounding area, and any queries are dealt with promptly.
Simply blown away with the standard of the accommodation at Bradda Place. Every bedroom comfortable beds, plenty of space, everything you would think you would need. Great kitchen, outside decking, tv’s in every room (although we couldn’t get the kitchen one to work), First class, and a great base for our son’s wedding at Bradda Glen. Also ideal for a family holiday as just across the road from the beach. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
We were very satisfied and had a wonderful time relaxing, thank you very much. One small note: two garden chairs would have been perfect.
Everything went very well from the booking, to the house guide, until departure. The house is very cozy and the guide's instructions are clear. We will be delighted to return to this house during a future stay.
Dandy Rigg is a delightful cottage in a lovely setting and we were so relaxed and comfy there. Very peaceful. Really enjoyed our stay and exploring more of the beautiful Isle of Man. Thank you.
Accommodation was first class and just as described. Neighbours were very friendly with great advice of places to visit. First time on the island but we were very impressed and we will be back, a very enjoyable few days. Thank you.
My family came over to see me, the whole booking was excellent from start to finish. So much information and confirmation about the booking and the property. The property was great, had everything we needed. Super clean. Will definitely use Island Escapes again.
Creggan is a lovely house, in an excellent location, with fabulous views over the sea, mountains, and meadows. This was an ideal house for a week’s vacation, near to Ramsey and the TT Race Course (5 mins by car, 45 min walk), and exceedingly well equipped with quality accessories. More like a home from home. Nice coastal path walks accessible immediately from the property, and within 15 mins walk to the local Manx Electric Railway station (Belle View). The 4 bed house was initially booked for a family of seven, but only five went, so ample space all round. In summary, an excellent hou...more
We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend as my son had a three day cycling race. The house was in great condition, beds super comfy and the welcome package was such a special touch. This was our first ever holiday home we have hired as a family, and we loved it. Positives: Sea views are amazing and access to the beach is easy Welcome package, really thoughtful and helpful Beds exceptionally comfy Very clean Spacious and airy Excellent utility and study rooms, nice to have when you have a lot of stuff Drive way plenty big enough for a van and car Crockery etc all supplied (...more
The apartment was conveniently located with parking outside the front door. The views were incredible, with a quiet beach and walks opposite the property, which was important to us as we had a dog with us. Entering the apartment meant using several sets of stairs, which may mean it isn't suitable for everyone. There was a further set of steep stairs up to the main bedroom, which put us of from using it. The apartment was well appointed and comfortable, although the necessity for internal fire doors was a bit of an inconvenience at times. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and found...more
Went for our 15 year reunion to the isle of man. Eva's cottage is the most cozy apartment I've been to in a while. It's really well designed (small but took advantage of every cm). The ameinities are amazing, almost "too" much for an apartment. Honestly soooo happy about the stay, thank you so much!
Property in good condition and well appointed. Wonderful views and quiet. Everything you need for a comfortable break.
Yet another visit to Eary Cushlin with our somewhat esoteric group of friends. This is the fourth consecutive year we have stayed at Eary Cushlin which tells you all you need to know about the magic of the house and its location on the mist-laden western shore of Ellan Vannin. The view of the house as you arrive down the track (which could still do with a little maintenance but is passable to any car) is amazing and atmospheric, with the property appearing ahead of you standing alone among the moors and the with sea crashing on the shore to the right. Once inside you find yourself in...more
The Old Coach House is in a perfect location - surrounded by quiet countryside - and is very well equipped. It really was 'home from home'. We had a truly relaxing holiday and would highly recommend it.
Everything just as it should be, immaculate and well equipped accommodation, loads of private parking space, stunning views.
Stayed for a week in October in this lovely house by the sea. The accommodation is excellent and well thought out. The views are stunning and the location is quiet but well placed for the airport and Castletown, Port Erin and Port St Mary. We loved the well equipped kitchen, the large communal dining area and the fact that the sleeping accommodation is well spaced apart - essential when there was a noisy 3 year old with us! We were warm and cosy during our stay and found plenty to do and see.
The Hayloft lived up to our expectations and we really enjoyed our stay. Very good location with walking distance to the harbour, beach, restaurants and cafes. Also 5 minutes from Snaefell Mountain Railway.
Beautiful house , great location, sea views , spotlessly clean, had a lovely short break here really nice comfortable beds slept really well.has everything you need. Welcome groceries when arrived , would love to stay here again sometime.
A lovely cottage right on the quay side. Kitchen well equipped. We stayed with friends. We had the downstairs bedroom. The sink was very narrow, difficult to clean your teeth in. There was no shower mat. Lacked drawer space to put clothes in. Had chairs you could use to sit outside. Amazing views from living room. Emailed Island escape halfway through the week but did not get a reply.
Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to "Harbour Hideaway" in Castletown. The property is handily situated close to the harbour, easy to find [use the instructions provided] and comfortably provides sufficient space for a family of 6. The lounge and dining area is a really good size, the bathroom facilities are thoroughly modern and the beds were comfortable. My only hint would be to take a small / medium sized car with you in order to fit it into the relatively small allocated space at the rear of the property. We took our Suzuki S Cross [4.3 metres length] after advice from ...more
We had a problem with the back door key being stuck in the lock so made a phone call and it was fixed within a couple of hours. The only criticism was that there was not a sheet on one of the double beds but our son lives on Isle of Man and he provided one. Apart from the sheet issue I would give this property 10 /10.
I have come back home from my wonderful holiday to the Isle of Man and I would like to give you some feedback. The ferry from Heysham to Isle of Man was great with no problems at all and the return journey to Liverpool was okay too even though there was a slight delay because of port issues/tide. The accommodation was very nice with everything we needed for our stay. I was disappointed there was no proper E.V charging point at the property. I took my lead as I normally would to charge the car but unfortunately, I left the 3-pin charger at home. You did put on the pre-arrival that it r...more
Clean and comfortable although hard to warm up in the really cold weather without the log burner. Very well equipped for cooking at home
Ballavoddan Farm Cottages 2 was perfectly nice as a holiday home, it was comfortable and was generally well equipped. Location was excellent, as was communication and instructions. But we felt it needs a bit of TLC; water stains on the ceiling of the living room and round the master bedroom from a leaking shower tray, broken blind in the second bedroom (velux blind that wouldn't stay down), broken door trays on the fridge, windows that get stuck open, etc. Some other things didn't feel well thought through for a holiday cottage; no towel holder in the downstairs toilet, nowhere to hang wet ...more
Tides Reach is well-appointed for a very small apartment, and immaculately clean. Island Escapes responded promptly to a problem - specifically: no towels in the apartment when we arrived. The property is on a public path, so the outside space advertised is not private and except for early mornings is dark and sunless. The bed is the worst I have ever slept in: cheap, bouncy mattress and bed too short for anyone over 5'8" because of the constraints of the space. It also has terrible bedside lighting: two down-lighter spots that cannot be controlled individually and which shine directly in...more
Baljean is the perfect location to enjoy PE and the south of the island. The property is super-well set up and all you would need is provided with style and comfort. The views over PE bay and Bradda are second to none. Mesmeric whatever the weather. Island Escapes are very well organised and easy to deal with - 10/10 customer service. 11/10 property.
We loved staying in this cottage. It is an old building, which has been sympathetically modernised and renovated. We stayed there with our children, 17 and 14, and it was ideal for the 4 of us. The twin room is up very steep stairs and a little way from the main double bedroom which was ideal for all of us, but might not be so good for young children. The kitchen is really well appointed and would be great for dining in, but with such a good chippy and kiosk we didn't bother. We would all happily stay here again.
Stayed here for TT week, little worried we were too far out of it but in the end it was perfect, used a local taxi for shuttle runs to the pub , £10 each way , pubs in peel were great , peel was really nice and quaint , everyone was very friendly , hard standing for bikes etc , bonus was the hot tub, sauna and steam room, on those days where the weather wasn’t so good it was a welcome alternative , Tesco did a home delivery which was good . Fave pub was the marine hotel , food was really good with generous portions .
Clean and mentained to a high standard of finish good parking nice out side space to relax in very friendly owners
Lovely little cottage, but honestly, it ought to be cleaner. So many spider webs and spiders in a property, next to the bed, in the bathroom and in the kitchen cupboards... The crockery was all in need of a good wash before it could be used. Dust was very prevalent, so the cottage requires a thorough clean. The location is super for the TT and Southern 100 if you're a bike fan, which we are. We really enjoyed being so close to the action but also far enough out to avoid road closures and explore the island at will. The small garden is accessed by a large step up, so bear that in mind ...more
We had a very enjoyable stay, the cottage was well located, everything worked well and the sunsets over the sea were awesome.
The cottage was very comfortable well located and very clean Only downside and very minor - there are 3 keys on a string and it is hard to know which key works with which lock.
We enjoyed our staycation at Heather Cottage. We had a couple of minor issues day after we arrived I.e we couldn't lock the Patio door and the remote control for the velux window in the second bedroom didn't work. We were very impressed with the response from Island Escapes who came out very quickly and sorted both these problems for us. The location is ideal for those who enjoy walking which we do. There was plenty to do and see in the area as well as good places to eat.
If you like countryside, friendly farm, helping feed the animals, and a good place to explore the Island from. We came as a family group ranging from 24 to 91. My father used accessible room downstairs which was ideal for him. It is ideal for all ages, lots for children to do. All are welcome. John and Fiona were so helpful and welcoming.
We booked this apartment because of its proximity to Bradda Glen, where my sister was getting married. It was perfect, especially as we were bringing our small dogs. The location was great; it was close to local amenities and the beach! The apartment looks exactly as it did in the pictures! Stunning views of the bay! You could need everything for a short stay, including access to Netflix! As a regular visitor to the Island, I will most certainly book this again.
After a bit of a mix up with the property cleaner not prepping the house the Island escape team came mob handed to get the place cleaned for us. The house is fantastic, very private and the grounds were great for the kids and the dogs. We had a brilliant stay here and wish we could have stayed longer.
Really great level of accommodation. Fitted to a high standard, lots of space and very comfortable. I stayed on business for 3 nights, and it was great to stay somewhere homely and outside of Douglas. I would suggest some clearer signage to The Swallow's Nest from the car park - took me a little while to find the door when arriving very late in the dark!
Really enjoyed the stay good base to get around the island from and out of the way to relax in the evenings
This spacious property has a reasonably sized garden with plenty of furniture and BBQ. The house is well equipped and the three showers are spacious and very efficient. There were a couple of minor cleaning issues which I reported hence the score of 4 not 5. The agents, Island Escapes are outstanding. They respond quickly to any enquiries and a few minor issues in the property were dealt with within the hour. The sea-front is maybe 5 minutes walk and the nearby Tesco is a reasonable size with a good range of products.
We booked three weeks so we could really explore the Isle of Man and were treated to non stop sunshine. The cottage is lovely inside and out and the railway novelty never wears off. Ports St Mary and Erin are both very scenic but Erin has the most facilities and life. The island itself has everything you could want all within 45 minutes drive... beaches, bays, coves, mountains, trams and railways and a busy bus network. The travel cards are a great way to get around working across all the transport networks. The cottage has everything you need for a self catering stay, the CoOp is a short ...more
Everything I could have wished for to visit the TT. Comfortable, clean, great position just 10 minutes walk out of Port Erin with a lovely view and excellent value (in the context of TT week!).
A lovely quiet, historical cottage to stay in, sparrows singing away to. The cottage was clean, with a very hot shower which was lovely. Welcoming gifts, and everything you needed. Things that let it down were plastic rubbish on walk down to cottage on arrival and out the front, some of the paint work wasn’t well finished inside, green paint on the floor, and windows need repairing outside. Blanket on sofa had obviously been used outside and was covered in grass and other bits. A gas cylinder was delivered and left almost right outside the door. Flask was smelly and not clean. We feel if you...more
Lovely cottage with beautiful views. Bed was really comfortable. Would recommend and would choose this location again.
Our group consisted of three recently retired gentlemen who wished to meet up over the Isle of Man motoring festival, and the property had ample parking for our three cars. Cottage was very well equipped enabling us to eat in one evening. I would not hesitate to return to the property with my wife at some point in the future.
Spotless, great location, great attention to detail everything has been thought of ..Home from home. I would thoroughly recommend and look forward to another visit
Close Vark. The accommodations was very clean and comfortable. We definitely would stay again. Lovely and peaceful.
We were very impressed with Beach’s reach. House was conveniently situated a short walk from the promenade. Kitchen had a good selection of crockery, cutlery pots & pans and good quality appliances including a washer dryer. Living room has duel aspect windows, comfortable sofas and a log burner. Bedrooms were bright and airy with duel aspect windows on the first floor bedroom and large Velux windows in the attic rooms. May not be suitable to those with mobility issues as shower is over the bath with high sides, stairs are steep. Living room and kitchen are on two levels due to the steep incli...more
Nice comfortable two bedroom cottage, great for those travelling without a car. Easy access to trains, busses and beach. Lots of nice walks nearby. Castletown is a quiet sleepy place in May before the TT. Be ready for occasional aircraft noise to interrupt the peace but only during daylight hours.
We had the Fuschias and the Swallows for our group. We booked them as they were adjoining, but the adjoining door was locked, this wasn't really an issue though. They were well equipped and clean and comfortable. The gym and spa area was an added bonus. Good location, adequate parking and great communication. Really good value for money, would recommend. Just a note to say a minimal amount of handsoap and toilet roll provided so make sure to bring your own. Overall very happy
Nice cosy cottage ideal for dog walkers and walkers in general excellent owners who live next door nothing was too much trouble
Excellent information pack and very grateful for the welcome pack. It saved us shopping on the first day. We would like to thank you for allowing us early access to the property due to earlier flight times. West View was allocated in a very beautiful setting and a peaceful location. It was conveniently situated for public buses and within a 10 minute walk down hill to the sea front. The kitchen was well equip[ped and everything was as shown on the website. Our holiday on the Isle of Man is very memorable and the efficiency of the transport added to the enjoyment. We have a few suggest...more
Comfortable and well equipped apartment. Great location on the esplanade with easy access into town. The apartment is at the back of the main hotel and is a stand alone on the 1st and 2nd floors. Some of the windows look into the rooms at the back of the hotel and some look over the countryside at the rear. It is quiet, beds and seating are comfortable and the kitchen is very well appointed. There was an excellent food hamper on arrival which kept me going for several days. The staff in the hotel were extremely friendly. Highly recommended
Truly, you could not do any better! The Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. Our long-term stay has been incredible. Everyone at Island Escapes has been amazing - they do everything they can to be helpful, they are always available and reliable. The Lodge is exceptional! The location is so quiet, you really would never think you were on a street with neighbors. A quiet, relaxing retreat. Excellent company to entrust your vacation/stay with and fabulous accommodation. Thank you.
All in all this a nicely presented and welcoming house, in easy walking distance of the town, the park and the beach. It was nice to arrive to a Christmas tree in the lounge, along with milk, bread, butter, cheese, tea and coffee bags. There are a few things I’d suggest to improve though; the mattress in the second bedroom was very thin, the master bedroom would have been better with a king sized bed, and the Roman blinds on the windows makes it impossible to let a little bit of light into the room without being on display to the passing neighbours. It would also have been nice to have had T...more
Really enjoyed our stay at Woodcroft, and it was lovely to return to its tranquil grounds, so close to the centre of Douglas. Suited us perfectly. Island escapes information was brilliant, and the app was really helpful re the property with links to IOM highlights. The property is of an era, and could benefit with an update in the bathroom areas. . A shower room upstairs would be welcome. The only other comment regards kitchen equipment. We never used the dishwasher, as there was only one set of very average cutlery and glassware So please upgrade both if possible! However, not to e...more
Excellent accommodation, stunning location with amazing views across the bay. Exceptionally clean and well equipped. Highly recommend.
Great location and property to spend Christmas with family who live in the village. Lovely and spacious house which was perfect.
The apartment was almost perfect. Certainly very clean and spacious. There were a couple of minor issues. The WiFi was terrible, constantly cutting out. To the extent the TV was unwatchable (only set up for Sky which needs WiFi). The macerator pump in the family bathroom is unpleasantly smelly (both pumps are very noisy). And the shower in the family bathroom is very slow to drain. None of it spoilt our holiday but points worth noting.
Requires light outside front door like others to see lock on returning. Cooker requires cleaning. Labrador doing Number 2 s outside kitchen window unattended.
An excellent well quipped property with magnificent views, we really enjoyed our stay there, apart from the approach road past the golf course which is in need of some urgent repair.
We had a short break for 4 days, on the TT Qualifying weekend. The location, regardless of the TT is ideal for quiet lazy walks to the beach, and seeing the main tourist attractions in Laxey. Everything is within walking distance from the property, with the Co-op just over the tram track for the essentials. There is the Laxey Wheel just up the road, in one direction, and the Electric Tram to Ramsey and Douglas the other. For the more adventurous, there's the Mountain tram up to the top of Snaefell, with amazing views, weather permitting, and plenty of hiking trails for various levels of ...more
Very kind they left a loaf of bread, butter milk and chocolate on arrival as it was much appreciated I think you should get your deposit back if you haven't broken anything House smells a bit musty Oven was dirty, on arrival so we had to call the office, could be a bit cleaner No shelves or bathroom cabinet to be able to to put toiletries away No hand towels for drying your hair Cottage is overlooked by othe property directly in front of this so not very much privacy Not really a 4* accommodation It is in a good location
Fabulous location . Great for access to all the South of the Island offers. Immaculately clean . Slightly tired in a few places eg bathroom sink plug not functioning on arrival , tap chrome in loo peeling . Shower fab size but grouting needs sorting . Lashings of hot water great and heating very efficient when needed . Would benefit from hose to clean back patio and furniture from the daily hen poo. Sad back platform not accessible this year as a sun trap . A few more items in welcome pack would have been nice - and some extra toilet rolls. Having said all that a great place to sta...more
A well equipped and spacious barn which met our needs ( pensioner couple with a dog). The property is, however, very open to a busy main road so dogs cannot be off lead. The owner called round to see us and was friendly and helpful. There was lots of information about local places provided in the cottage in addition to all the information provided by Island Escapes.
Very comfortable flat , shame about the mould in the shower, other than that perfect. Port Erin is a lovely place
We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Surfside. The cottage was clean, comfortable, well stocked with everything we needed and located near shops, public transport and the beach. We will be back next year.
Wonderful, well equipped, comfortable, and a great location close to the electric railway and bus routes. A perfect get away.
We love the high beamed ceiling with much improved lighting in the lounge. Is a very spacious and comfortable bungalow to stay with a well-tended garden. The scenery all around is simply awesome and all the farm animals make it a very rural and fascinating place to stay. The hosts and family gave us such a friendly welcome and helped us get the most out of our holiday as always.
The property has a wonderful view over Peel and is a good vantage point to watch sunsets. I felt that it could have been cleaned more thoroughly, and the provision of a toilet brush essential. The beds were comfortable, but the settees did not suit those of short stature. There were no recycling boxes. The provision of two door keys would have been useful, for guests who wish to split up during the day. The digital guide was useful, but needs updating, as there is a different hob and washing machine. We also needed guidance about the de-humidiifier, which stopped working during our s...more
We enjoyed a six night stay in this clean and comfortable cottage which is ideally located a two minute walk from Peel beach and promenade. The street on which the cottage is located was very quiet. The only issue that we encountered was that we were unable locate the dustbin despite our best efforts, apparently it is kept somewhere off a neighbouring street but we could not find it. Overall a very enjoyable break.
We stayed with 7 adults and had a very pleasent week during the TT. Some details like dull knives or small pots in the kitchen are obvious but not a real problem at all. Ian is a super nice guy and we can recommend the cottage. During TT the price is incomparable, but ok.
The Milking Parlour is a lovely holiday rental for people who like peace and quiet and love the countryside. Beautiful views looking out to sea and the Ayres. Also on a clear day you can see Southern Scotland or the mountains of Mourne in Ireland. The birdlife is amazing with a huge selection of quite rare breeds. There were plenty of exercise areas for our dog. The bed was comfortable with more than enough bedding. The hoover we had was blocked solid so we knew that was the reason for being quite a lot of dust inside. We were provided with another one. very smelly. Our main downside wa...more
This was the first MiniFest held on the Isle of Man. 3 of us attended and from arrival were very impressed with this property, it was everything we needed. Its location for us was ideal, parking was satisfactory and it was so quiet. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen amazing, and the bathroom was ideal. I can imagine the sun deck would be fantastic during the warmer months, so secluded and out of the wind. Its about a 15-20 minute walk to the city centre. A pub, the Terminus is 5 minutes down the road where the horse tram station is. It was a pleasure to retun to this property after...more
Really lovely accommodation with wonderful sea views from lounge and main bedroom. Patio seating area in full sun early evening was wonderful for pre dinner drinks. We will definitely book for next year. May not be suitable for people with mobility issues as it’s up a steep hill.
Had 17 nights on the Island for work, location is excellent although in February the weather does not do it justice. This was my second stay in Scenic view apartment. The only gripe is that it could do with some new pans. Had a problem with water flow for hot water and heating, caused by a leak down the road. Spoke with Island Escapes and it was sorted before i got back from work.
the house was a bit hard to find on the estate the first time quite a climb if walking house was spacious i found the settee soft and not easy to get of double bed was fine the king size bed was to singles put together it was very large public transport is excellent the staff at island escapes where very efficient and very informative we would use them again when we come again
Very enjoyable break in the Isle of Man staying in Ard Mor, Castletown. Cottage was very spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Only a few minutes walk into town. Would recommend the double bed is replaced with a king as there is enough room, but not an issue. Island Escapes were very helpful and information very clear.
A beautiful location and lots of local services and facilities. We loved the Isle of Man and Sea View apartment in Port Erin was a perfect place to stay. We had the best time… a home from home
The location was fabulous, and cottage was very comfortable, lovely garden and well provided for. Extremely comfortable beds. Lots of useful guides, and nice touches like butter and cheese in the fridge. There were a couple of small niggles, which might be helpful to know about - there was no corkscrew, and we wrote to the office asking if they could provide one. The response was helpful but came after 2 days so we had sorted something out by then. Also it would have been helpful to have a cafetière. It smelled a bit musty on arrival.
This is a charming property, full of character, with everything you could possibly need, cleverly included in a small space! It's cosy at night, and in daytime makes full use of natural light and glorious views of the sweeping countryside around it. The hot tub and sheltered outdoor seating area is great! The Tower (and indeed the whole of Knockaloe Beg) has a real 'away from it all' feel, whilst still being easily accessible from all major routes round the Island. Property owners (who live on-site) are super-helpful and welcoming! Having some form of transport - car or bike - is useful if y...more
Very peaceful, amazing bird life but the farm needs a deep clean. Filthy windows, furniture well past its best. Lots of ants in the kitchen which also needs an upgrade. The setting is wonderful and given some attention the property could be amazing. As it’s so old a little bit of its history could be on view. It would have been nice to find out about its past working life and how old the building was.
We recently stayed at Cronk Breck cottage with our pet, the owner Steve greeted us and he is a lovely man. The property is lovely perfect for a couple. The only complaints I have is it was freezing the heating is controlled by the owners and despite their being an oil filled radiator it wasn't adequate for the whole building, I feel the cold due to the medication I take. Despite the owners being lovely it felt like you were staying in their back room as there was an adjoining access door and windows to their living space, I would prefer more privacy. Their were treats left for our pet and ...more
Corner House is a lovely, little place to stay just off the promenade. It has a cosy feel to it and has been renovated to a nice standard. The stairs could be a challenge as quite steep up to bathroom and bedrooms if you were a little unsteady on your feet. Well equipped kitchen, some nice little extras for use in bathroom stored in dressing table in small room. Lots of mirrors and coat hooks around. Only grumble would be the very small back yard type space could do with a new piece of astro turf and paint touch up. Would stay here again as central to all amenities on quite little road.Sam from...more
This cottage is ideally situated off the main road and is nice & quiet. We arrived very late on the day of our arrival and were grateful for the little extras such as bread & milk. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfy so got a good nights sleep. The bathrooms were clean and towels were provided along with bed linen. Unfortunately the cottage could have done with a bit more cleaning as there were cobwebs everywhere, which meant there were many spiders too, a bit off putting. The kitchen itself looked like it was given a general clean and that's it. The chopping board had...more
We stayed at Cherry Tree House for a week and found it an ideal location to relax and unwind and explore the island. Despite its three star rating we found it comfortable and clean and very dog friendly. There was an allocated car parking space and had all the facilities we required. It was close to a a local store and larger Tesco was available in Port Erin only 5 minutes drive away. It was excellent value for money and we would stay there again
We really enjoyed our stay, lovely area with good places to eat. The garrison in castle Douglas and the forge grill a short drive away were particularly good.
We stayed here over Christmas 2024 and the location was perfect for us. The cottage is lovely and very quaint and island escapes had added some lovely Christmas touches to make our stay seasonal. The cottage is just perfect and is decorated with style, however we found the bathroom could have been improved by providing a floor mat, as it was not nice getting out the shower onto the wooden floor. In the living room it was again tastefully decorated and the accent chair very comfortable but the sofa was very hard and uncomfortable for a week long stay. The space upstairs was great and the dres...more
A warm welcome to a clean, heated accommodation with the nice touch of a Xmas tree! The kitchen & lounge spaces were good. The bedroom was small but the double bed was very comfortable. Terrific service from James when we couldn’t access the internet. Sorted out within minutes. The uninterrupted sea views were beautiful. Perfect location for the No. 3 bus route, easy parking & a short walk down-hill to Laxey shore. The walk back up the hill requires stamina! All in all, reasonable value & a very pleasant stay.
This is a lovely Victorian villa with fabulous views of the coast and sea. The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished with attractive furniture and good for families and friends. The layout was excellent and most rooms were very light and airy. There were clean and well laundered bed linen and good quality towels. It was a short walk into the village and very close to coastal walks and moorlands with beautiful scenery and views from the front rooms. If we could offer some suggestions for improvements we would like to mention that having one toilet for six guests was a downside especially...more
On arrival kitchen floor at sink was full of water no mop. Floor wet again next day on further inspection water leaking from pipe under sink. Been like that a long time as cabinet was out of shape due to leaking water Dust and cat dog hairs in bedrooms. Tried to hoover no suction. Crumbs on bed side cabinets dirt in bathroom corners. Every room had cob webs and dirt in corners. Sink upstairs thick with dust. Main bedroom carpet full of dirt and hairs. Stairs carpet not hoovered. For our arrival and amount we paid seemed no cleaning even done. Couldn't sleep in room itching from pet hairs a...more
