We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boconnoc House. We received a very warm welcome from Louise who took plenty of time to show us around the magnificent house. Oxanna was also there adding the finishing touches which made our arrival feel very special. The bedrooms are very comfortable, the 1st floor rooms being extremely spacious. The 2nd floor bedrooms are a little snug with sloping roofs and the bathroom arrangements for the love room require 4 people to share access through one room. It was ok for our group but wouldn’t be ideal for 9 couples. The drawing room and library are fabulous and were plenty large enough for our party of 16. The dining room was the main focal point over Christmas with a dining table to comfortably seat us all and a fabulous fireplace to keep us very cosy, bearing in mind we spent many an hour chatting and playing games around the table. If there was any downside, I would say the kitchen was weak given the rest of the house. It was not easy to prepare food for 16 and whilst there is a catering kitchen at the back of the house, there is no equipment in there and it was extremely cold. That said, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to any family/group of friends for a memorable stay on the most wonderful Cornish Estate.

Such an amazing place to stay. The building, the accommodation, the grounds, the facilities, the friendliness, the attention to detail, the location, the communication. All first class!

Myself and 18 of my closest friends had a truly wonderful long weekend at Boconoc. From the moment you drive through the gates and take your first glimpse of the house, you realise that this is special. I wish I had stayed longer.

The house itself is simply stunning with plenty of space for everyone. Plenty of room for group celebration and just as easily, more rooms in case you wished for a little peace and quiet. From the moment we arrived, we felt special. We held a birthday celebration on the back terrace with an amazing view of the grounds. We played tennis, held a yoga class, walked in the deer park, made pizzas on the terrace, swam in the lake, and just relaxed in pleasant conversation. We charged the EV, we found milk on site, we had gifts from the management, the fire was lit. I could go on.

If all that is not enough, Fowey is just a 25 minute drive away.

Fires and candles lit every morning. Flowers from the garden on the tables. Relaxed, attentive staff with a genuine love of the house and its history. When you are in Boconnoc it feels like your own home. There is no fussiness or rules.…which is unusual in a house of such magnificence. To have a private house like this opened up with such trust and love is exceptional.

Everyone commented on how comfortable the beds are. The decor and paintings all tell a story (get a fascinating history tour from Louise). And we haven’t even begun with the grounds and the views. Thank you, thank you Louise, Catherine, Sima, Elizabeth, Clare and Sarah. You have created a nurturing and nourishing haven. You can tell it is run by women. I will be back….again! I am so grateful to have found you.
