There’s a large open-plan living space and four bathrooms, parking for three cars, great river views and extensive outdoor areas – perfect for family meals and post-beach barbecues. Take a short stroll to the quay to enjoy the ambience of the Anchorstone Café or Ferry Boat Inn, go crabbing on the pontoon, or hop on a boat to explore the Dart Valley.

We were a family of 8( 2 children) who stayed for 6 nights at Rocket house.
We had a great in such lovely accommodation in a perfect little village.

A wonderful setting for such a spacious house. So much room for our group, although we all liked squashing on the decking outside as the view was beautiful and it felt so serene out there. The rooms were all spacious and there were plenty of bathrooms for us all. Amazing to be able to walk down to the river dart for a quick dip in the morning, although a little muddy underfoot once in it felt lovely. Would love to stay again. Although, the roads are a little narrow and tricky, a more noticeable sign to the property would be good as all the party drove past it and had to reverse up the hill.

This is a very lovely property with great views of the Dart. Warm & spacious with lots of bathrooms.

Spacious “living spaces” which was important given our group size and the variable weather. Bedrooms and bathrooms entirely adequate. Ample parking a particular benefit as was an especially well equipped kitchen although refrigerator space might perhaps have been more generous. One or two small “irritations” but nothing one isn’t going to encounter in most establishments in this quality/price range in many parts of the world; however and as already pointed out to the agent: living room chair legs need repair before someone is injured; outside front door light not working. We would like to compliment the local “handyman” on his prompt (once alerted by the agent) assistance. Overall a good “consumer experience” and we would certainly consider a return visit and recommending this property to others.

Lovely position, great views, easy parking.
Dishwasher broken: advised the day before we arrived this was broken, letting agent initially offered no compensation or whether it was to be replaced during our stay. Eventually some compensation was offered on the basis it was going to replaced during our stay, this didn’t happen - again agency contacted but still no response. Generally house needs some repairs: curtains hanging off rails, shower head held up with gaffer tape, loo cisterns dripping constantly, front door latch very temperamental.



Perfect house and location with the bonus of plenty of parking.

Rocket House is perfect for a family, in our case family plus their partners. Location is just up from the key which meant we could carry our kayak and paddle board down to the water with ease. The pub is excellent, really friendly with great home made pizzas. Good location for getting to Dartmouth both by car or ferry, also visited Stoke Gabriel a few times both by water and car where there is the lovely River Shack cafe and restaurant. Overall difficult to beat this property.

A spacious house in a lovely position in the village. However, there was no tumble dryer which is a big draw back for families staying for a week or two. To add to the problem no washing line either and only one wooden airer. Small things that should be rectified - sink plug did not work in en suite bathroom so basin could not hold water for shaving. When taking plug out it was filthy and full of hair and black muck. Leak in basin in other ensuite (with double bed). Waxed cloth on dining room had to be scrubbed - very dirty.

A beautiful, spacious house with stunning views of the Dart estuary. Large kitchen, dining room and lounge, plenty of room for everyone. Bedrooms very comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor space for bbq's and gathering around the fire pit. Manageable parking for 4 cars.

Despite restrictions, enjoyed walking down to the pub and local cafe. Ferry access to Dartmouth a joy and plenty to do on the water.

Would not hesitate to recommend.

The location, the views and the spacious accommodation are the reasons to book this property. We did experience a number of problems, niggles and mishaps whilst staying. Regrettably, not all could be remedied by the agent Tom although what was within his power were promptly attended to. The property would benefit from being fitted with a decent size fridge and addressing the lack of wardrobes / hanging rails in 2 of the bedrooms. Overall the property was clean but we did have to wash a number of utensils and mugs etc prior to their use. All the glazing (but the picture windows in the kitchen and lounge especially) would benefit from a deep clean. The addition of some simple planned and ongoing maintenance throughout would significantly enhance the comfort and enjoyment of future guests.

This is a great house, great condition, spacious, great views, and has everything you could wish for, well apart from a tumble dryer. Its a big place with all the social rooms on the main floor and the bedrooms on the lower floor. The outside area is fab and the views spectacular. Dittisham is a lovely little place and perfect for a quiet get away with a couple of nice places to grab a drink and a bite. Dartmouth is a 15 minute drive. We would definitely stay here again.

Overall we were very happy with our stay but a few things to note. The house was not cleaned upon our arrival due to an oversight, which was alarming due to covid and as we had a small baby with us. Dart Valley Cottages were straight on the case and a team came around to clean the house top to bottom within an hour or two. If you are a troubled sleeper beware the floors are creaky, so those below will hear the movements of those above in the mornings. We were a group of eight adults and only half of us could shower before the hot water ran cold. If you are a nervous driver, beware that Dittisham is VERY tight and whilst there is plenty of parking at the house, it requires a few maneuvers to get in and out.

This is an excellent home from home. Good position great views very well equipped big enough for two families with some “space” too. Would definitely recommend this house for a great stay in the lovely village of Dittisham

This is a truly beautiful property Perfect for a large family or two small families. Superb views roomy and spacious accommodation Sadly we could only stay a short time due to lockdown but we will be returning in 2021. Very much recommended.

This venue is ideal for a family of 10. Plenty of space, safe garden experience for families with small children. Lovely dining room with plenty of space. 5minute walk to to River Dart. Well equipped. We as a family would rebook!

We stayed at Rocket House last year and were so happy it waa available again for us this year. The house was perfect and so cozy and warm when we arrived. Everything was provided even logs for the fire although it was so mild we didn’t need one.
A perfect winter retreat!!

The house is very well equipped, modern, comfortable, lovely views and very well situated eat the local ship and near pubs and ferry. Really lovely place the Dart Valley. It felt like staying at a friends house rather than a rental with thin like milk, firewood, salt, toys etc available. The only problem was the WiFi credit needed recharging, which we admittedly just did ourselves rather than try contacting the agent.

A big shame that it has not been cleaned prior to our arrival. Floors were dirty and we had to sweep them. Otherwise everything was great in this house. Beautiful views. Very comfortable

Enjoyed our stay. The house is ideal for a large number of people, in our case grandparents,their children & grandchildren. Did have an issue with the gardener from next door letting herself into the house unannounced but otherwise very happy with everything.
