We stayed at Windrush for a family pre-Christmas weekend and had a really great time. What made it very special was our accommodation, which was a fantastic venue for a gathering. We could visit Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-March and Stowe on the Wold with ease as they were all very close. We also had the village pub withing walking distance, plus access to country lanes for a Saturday morning walk.
Will definitely be back.
Thank you.

The house was lovely with plenty of space for a large family gathering. Having the additional annex was great. House lovely and warm but annex not so warm, but a heater in the annex helped.
Lovely to have a garden that could be closed off.
Plenty of parking at property for more than 3 cars if you don't mind a bit of car juggling (the space at end of road was usually full )
Useful having some basic supplies on our arrival, thanks.
Would be useful to have note in house re bin collection day. We would have put bins out had we known when it was.
Good location for walking from and drives out into the Cotswolds.
The management team responded promptly when we contacted them with a few points..
We had a great time and would book again.
Thank you

The property is lovely, a great location for country walks and seeing the Cotswolds. Lovely and modern, spotlessly clean, and dealing with StayCotswold was easy (particularly when we accidentally locked ourselves out!). However we felt that it was quite poorly equipped for the size of the property and the number of people staying. There were not enough wine glasses for the adults to each have a glass of wine at dinner at the same time, and there was no corkscrew/bottle opener! There was a shortage of baking trays, water glasses and utensils (wooden spoons) etc. For a property that sleeps 10+, this seems like a basic error and should be addressed. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time.

Excellent accommodation for our party of 12 - we found the annex very useful.
Location excellent too, a nice walk into Chipping Norton through very muddy fields! Well stocked with crockery ( for children as well as adults) though we could have used a tea pot and a few more serving dishes.
The garden is lovely and there was a good stock of games for the kids. The washing machine and dryer came in handy after the muddy walk.
The only negative was that all bins were full and we would have cleared all our rubbish and sorted the recycling if we had space. It was bin collection day as we left and we would have put the bins at the end of the drive if we had been asked. The next guests would be greeted with empty bins....
WiFi was very good.
Thank you for providing us with a lovely venue for our family reunion.

Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear Windrush was an excellent accommodation for your party and you got to go on the local walks and make use of the garden. Unfortunately the bins only get emptied once a week and as it's a large property they do tend to fill up quickly. We do provide guests with the property managers number, who can be contacted and informed. We hope to welcome you back to the Cotswolds again soon.

A few things let it down

The property, including annex, was large enough for our family get together. The gardens were also a fantastic size and there was a good selection of patio furniture.

The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of toilets for everyone - always a good thing when you are away with relatives!

The second lounge in the main property was a perfect size for the children, and the option of Netflix on the TV was a well-loved addition.

Unfortunately, the property wasn't perfect, which, for the price paid, let it down.

The curtains in the living room were too small, so when you tried to close them, a massive gap was left in the middle. As the living room was at the front of the property, it meant you couldn't "close out the night" and it detracted from the cosiness.

The property wasn't very clean. The cream carpets were dirty, the kitchen bin was broken and there were piles of rubbish stacked up outside the over flowing outside bins. Even the mailbox was stuffed to bursting, including notes from Royal Mail asking for it to be emptied!

The property was freezing and the central heating wouldn't work. None of the bathrooms had locks on them, except the upstairs bathroom - but it fell off in my hand the first time I used it and I got locked in!

The decor was literally patchy - pieces of wallpaper that had been ripped off had been sellotaped back on!? The oven was also very temperamental. The main oven got incredibly hot very quickly, meaning food cooked sooner than you would expect. The hobs, on the other hand, took an age to get warm, meaning anything cooked on them took forever.

The cottage wasn't well equipped with information. There was no welcome pack/book with information on the local area or instructions for the house, which was disappointing. There were two board games and a load of adult books. It would have been nice if there were more "little touches", e.g., children's books/toys, local attraction leaflets, takeaway menus, etc.

I did get in touch with the property managers about some of these issues and they called me back within half an hour. They troubleshooted the central heating for us - apparently there was an airlock. Although this meant we got the heating on, it continually stopped working, so we had to fix the problem ourselves throughout our stay.

They also sent someone out the same day with a new kitchen bin, who also emptied all of the outside bins (it took him about an hour, they were that full!) The person I spoke to on the phone offered to fix the lock on the bathroom door; however, this didn't happen during our stay.

On the whole, the cottage was in a lovely area and was a decent size for our party. It's just a shame that, for the price charged, it had so many niggles that let it down.

Thank you Lizzie for your review of Windrush. We are delighted you found the property to be large enough to accommodate your party of guests and that were enough bathroom facilities. The curtains in the living room are for decorative purposes, no one can look into the living room from the shared driveway entrance and the property is not a main road. The previous guest had unfortunately marked the carpet in the bedroom and this has since been cleaned but sadly could not be done in time for your arrival. The top floor bathroom lock has now been repaired. The mail box has to be emptied by the property owner. We are pleased to hear that the property manager was on hand to assist you with the heating and to replace the kitchen bin once the breakage was reported. The outside waste bins are emptied weekly and sadly due to the property accommodating up to 15 adults this can amount to large amounts of rubbish. We hope that overall, you enjoyed your time exploring the Cotswolds!

Great accommodation over the main house and annex. Nice small garden and conservatory of the dogs and outdoor tap Kitchen equipped well. Electric charge point for the car (additional charge)
On the door step for lots of lovely country walks. Chipping Norton approximately 1.6 miles through fields- good array of cafes, shops and bars. Great family get together would definitely recommend
