Upper Barn is a contemporary holiday home just a short walk away from Chipping Norton's many shops and restaurants. The open plan ground floor and sunny patio with hot tub are ideal for entertaining friends or family, providing ample space for everyone to relax.

This property is not suitable for people with walking difficulties as lots of stairs and on a steep slope with very tight access to it.
Otherwise a nice place to stay. bright and airy with everything you require……except a garden for the dog if you have one. There are several dog friendly pubs near by. Disappointing that you cannot enter the property on arrival until 5 pm and have to be out by 10 am as you pay for 5 days but actually only get 3.

The Upper Barn was a great find and a lovely stay. Well equipped, very clean and very comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring Chipping Norton and the surrounding area.

Two gripes:

1. Booked and paid for in advance and then a few days before we were about to start our booking got an email saying the owners had installed a hot tub at the property and that to use it would cost us an additional £150. Thought that was rather cheeky. You would have thought that because this booking was paid for and about to start that this would just be included as it was added after the booking was made. That left a sour taste in my mouth. Probably wouldn't have used it anyway as didn't book it because it had a hot tub. Just felt like they were trying to capitalise on the fact it was installed and tried to get more money.

2. Ordered a high chair and a cot. The high chair was there, which was great. The cot was not... We made do but very disappointing.

Because of these two things I would think twice about staying again or recommending to others. This makes me sad because if it wasn't for these two things then it would have been a perfect stay. So, a little disappointed.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Spacious, light and airy and the location is a 1 min walk to the high street. Designated parking space next to the barn a godsend.

Other pluses: strong WiFi throughout the entire house.

Opportunities for improvement:

Cleanliness - needs a deep clean. Most skirting boards covered in dust and carpets in need of a shampoo

Both toilet roll holders hanging off the wall and the shower door surround had come loose.

Needed more than one key as currently you end up having to lock people in the house.

The code lock on the gate to the high street was broken - meaning you couldn’t get back in and had to walk the long way around - residents advised it’s been like that for months.

Upper Barn is a beautiful property in an excellent location just off Chipping Norton high street.

The Barn is excellently presented and was a cosy stay for a weekend with friends.

There are a couple of improvements areas - the toilet seat in the main bathroom was broken and the shower seal was coming loose which meant water was seeping on to the floor. The hairdryer provided was also faulty.

The kitchen was faultless though - fully equipped and some lovely additions of local butter, crumpets and milk was nice. Beds and sofas were also very comfy.

Lovely barn in a good location for Chipping Norton and all the beautiful villages that surround it. Kevin was a great manager he gave us lots of information on arrival and was contactable when required.
There are a couple of things that I would recommend, the outside of the velux windows need a good clean, some you can’t see out of!
The toilet seat in the en-suite doesn’t fit and needs changing.
Overall we had a lovely time thank you

Perfect location and perfect size cottage for 5 and a small dog, had everything we needed for our stay. Beds were very comfortable and clean. A special mention, the hot water was on tap, plus the extra gas fire, which we had on at night... a home away from home. Thank you for having us, we all highly recommend Upper Barn.

We are in the unique position of having stayed in a number of holiday cottages close to Chipping Norton Town center while our home was being renovated. Of all the 3 bedroom holiday lets we stayed in, Upper Barn provided the best value for money by a country mile. It is very spacious, beautifully decorated and very well kitted out with quality kitchen ware, good beds and crisp white linen. There is a dedicated parking bay next to the barn and although it is in the town center, the location is secluded and quiet.. Stay Cotswold helped us to secure Upper Barn for the second time at short notice and communications with them was without fault. Highly recommended!

Had a great stay in a great location. After a wobbly start - parking spot was occupied and baby cot and high chair had not been delivered - we had a wonderful time. The initial issues were quickly resolved and then forgotten. The location was great - close to all Chipping Norton facilities and Chipping Norton was a great base for exploration of Cotswolds. The accommodation was a little tight, especially upstairs, but not enough to spoil the vacation. Kitchen was well equipped and all utilities worked well.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and found it a very comfortable property. We really appreciated the owner switching us to the back of his suite of properties to avoid the fair on High Street although that should have been stated up front. We did have some housekeeping issues on arrival. We found a totally dirty plate in the cupboard with the "clean" dishware. Someone also left a ball point pen in the washer that was stuck in the rubber gasket and some ink got on a shirt I ran through the washer. The chair and sofa cushions really needed a washup as well. Lastly, when we arrived, we had about 3 sheets of toilet paper in the bathrooms total. This is why I give lower marks for cleanliness and condition.

On the plus side, beds very comfy, house was spacious. The few food items left for us was a nice touch.

I do recommend putting some kind of shower caddy in that very small shower space for a bar of soap and shampoo..

The check in instructions were clear and simple, the property manager was quickly responsive the one time I needed him, the location gave easy walking access to the Main Street and a grocery store, and the cottage was clean, comfortable, and appointed with all the things we needed.

Upper Barn was excellent. The quality of the interior is so good and the cleanliness of the place was perfection The gas stove made a real comfy atmosphere in the evenings The EV charger was a nice touch for us as we drive fully electric vehicle The location was brilliant and also so quiet for to be in the town

We had a lovely holiday staying at upper barn chipping Norton. The house is lovely and had a good feeling when we arrived.
The decor is welcoming and has everything you need for your stay.
The beds are very comfortable.
The utility room was very handy with a bathroom and washer/dryer.
We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.
