The Smithy is a recently refurbished holiday cottage nestled in the heart of Chipping Norton, beautifully blending contemporary decor with original character features. With light, spacious living areas and a stylish enclosed courtyard garden with seating, it’s the perfect base to unwind and for exploring the picturesque towns, villages, and countryside of the Cotswolds.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Smithy, it was newly decorated and very well done. The beds were comfy, the kitchen well equipped and the welcome pack was more than anywhere we have had before.
The location was ideal for getting into town and taking the dog for a walk. It offered us everything we needed for a family weekend break.

Three friends stayed for a weekend. We all loved the cottage. Super comfortable and well-equipped. It has all the convenience of being in town near the shops, pubs and restaurants but also great countryside walks from the door step. The Black Horse pub at Salford is well worth a visit!

Another lovely stay in The Smithy - clean, comfortable & cosy. Lovely meal in Alberto's & great Sunday roast in The Blue Boar. Couple of very nice independent shops for gifts, jewellery or to treat oneself. We'll be back.

The Smithy was cosy, comfortable and a short walk to shops. Very well stocked kitchen. Parking in the nearby lot was easy to do.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Smithy, we absolutely loved our time there, it was our first holiday away with our baby, so we eat at the house mainly and the facilities for preparing meals were excellent, a travel cot was also kindly provided. The house is well appointed and very comfortable. Jan is an excellent host, and very easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend

We had a brilliant time staying at The Smithy. Communication was excellent throughout. The house is really lovely and the kitchen well stocked. The house was exceptionally clean. We found the location was brilliant. And enjoyed wandering around Chipping Norton looking at the shops and had a brilliant dinner at The Boxing Hare. We will definitely book again! Thank you

My sister & I enjoyed our short break at The Smithy. We were very impressed by the quality of this holiday cottage. The kitchen was well stocked with a variety of equipment, along with a comprehensive set of instructions on how to use the appliances (often lacking in many cottages!).
The location was ideal not only to explore the charming town of Chipping Norton, but further afield, to fully appreciate what the area has to offer. Particular favourites were the Cotswolds Distillery, Batsford Arboretum, Stow on the Wold & Chipping Campden (The Silk Mill & Court Barn Museum).
We were unable to take advantage of the parking permit for the residents car park as it had expired, the new one hadn’t arrived, but we had no problem parking in the street outside The Smithy throughout our stay.
We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed with our 13 year old daughter for a long weekend. Nice cottage, only a couple of very minor niggles that didn’t affect our stay - the cottage is very nice but we felt smelt a little musty downstairs (especially in the kitchen/utility area, although it’s an old house so maybe to be expected) Also, we would have preferred full size bath towels, rather than the smallish ones that the cottage provides, but these are very minor points that wouldn’t put us off staying again. Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend

Loved The Smithy! Good communication throughout from the hosts - we were sent a message at 12pm saying it was ready for check in. We asked for a baby cot, a stairgate and a high chair and it was all set up prior to arrival. The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and we made many meals there. Sainsbury's was just a few minutes' walk away and there was a small farmers market on Wednesday. All in all we loved our stay and would return.

The Smithy was perfect for our bank holiday weekend getaway. Its tranquil location in the heart of the town but away from the main road is ideal, with a good range of shops and excellent country pubs all within easy walking distance. It was also easy to walk out into the countryside from the house. The cottage itself was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated, with a well equipped kitchen and comfy sitting room. The three bedrooms are all a good size, and very comfortable as well. We had a brilliant time there, and had everything we needed. StayCotswold were also very helpful in responding quickly to email queries and an amendment to our booking.

Some might find the stairs a little steep, if less mobile, and some might not like the parking arrangements as there is no designated parking, but neither of things were a problem for us at all.

The cottage is beautifully presented and very comfortable. The car park pass was a bonus and we always found space on the road to park our second car. We loved visiting the town's theatre and had fabulous meals in two local restaurants, all within walking distance.

The cottage was extremely well situated for exploring The Cotswolds and Oxford. The parking permit was a huge bonus as it is very limited and the information provided for the stay was very good. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable and extremely well equipped. It would of been nice if perhaps the heating could of been on for our arrival as when we entered the property it was very, very cold and took some time to warm up but this is not a criticism in any way as our stay was perfect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Smithy just after Christmas.
The cottage is very homely and welcoming with a very well equipped kitchen. We appreciated the hamper and drinks provided by the owners that was a lovely touch.

The cottage is right in the centre of town, so the location is faultless. The cottage was extremely clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

"The Smithy" is a very comfortable short-stay location, right in the centre of Chipping Norton. It provides ready access to an array of shops, restaurants, and pubs, with easy access to branded high-street supermarkets too. The property is a three-bedroom house, which suited our family size, with all bedrooms providing a good size. The kitchen is excellently stocked with all cutlery and china, with all facilities one would expect for cooking and catering for a small family (microwave, cooker, hob, etc).

Parking is really convenient, either on the adjacent street as we did, or else, by using the parking permit provided by the Host. This was really beneficial when packing and unpacking your vehicle.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay, with "The Smithy" with it also being really useful as a base to visit Oxford and Bicester Outlet Village, both are within easy reach.

I cannot recommend the Smithy highly enough! We stayed for 4nts and it was perfect for our family of 4 with 2 younger children. It is in a great location in a quiet side street. The cottage provides a parking permit for a nearby car park which we were able to park in easily. The welcoming gifts were a lovely touch and we instantly felt at home. The highchair, stairgate and travelcot were already set up for us. The cottage is done out beautifully. It is welcoming and comfortable and very spacious. The kitchen and cottage itself is fully equipped with all the usual bits you normally have to bring so that was great. It is a welcome change to stay somewhere where people have thought of everything so you don't have to worry. We have stayed in a number of places and I can honestly say for us this was the best by far. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage for a holiday in the Cotswolds and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for having us.

What a great place. Right off the town centre but you would never know it. Quiet residential street only steps from pubs and the main part of the town

Super comfortable house with everything you need for a great stay

Towels, hand soap and hair products so no running out to the shops for that
Item you forgot

FULLY stocked kitchen which was spacious and a great place to knock up a great breakfast with meat from the local butcher (Trev Beadle) which had amazing bacon and sausages

We loved our stay at the Smithy! We have two small children and cottages can sometimes be a bit hit or miss but the owners of the Smithy have thought of everything! Stair gates/ high chair and cot bed at the cottage meant we saved valuable space in our car! The cottage is clean, light and airy and literally slap bag in the middle of Chipping Norton! We have stayed at a number of holiday cottages where we have to bring our own washing/dishwasher tablets and kitchen essentials such as salt/ pepper/ milk etc but everything we could need was included. We can’t recommend this cottage enough!

We had an enjoyable 4 night stay at The Smithy. The cottage was ideally located in the town, characterful, and lots of places to visit within a close distance. As a family of 4, there was enough space and the cottage had everything we needed.
