We had a lovely 4 days at gorgeous Maple House with three generations of our family. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable. The living spaces were great for socialising, and the pool table was a huge hit with the teenagers and grandad (although we found discarded vapes in the pool room basket in a non-smoking house!) The kitchen had everything we could have needed and the kind gift of milk, bread, butter, eggs and orange juice was a lovely touch. The downsides were that the freezer leaked and we had to keep mopping up the small puddles, there were quite a few cobwebs, and the outside areas need a lot of TLC. We had lovely weather - but couldn't use any of the seating areas in the garden because they were filthy. Luckily, we had brought our camping chairs, so we could still enjoy the sunshine in the garden. We would definitely stay again though. It's a huge house in a brilliant position to walk into town and a beautiful part of the world.

An appliance engineer previously attended the property and believed the leak had been successfully repaired from the fridge/freezer. Unfortunately, the issue persisted, requiring a second visit. The leak has now been fully resolved. There was a previous leak from the ensuite bathroom and following the repair, the maintenance team repainted the affected ceiling; however, staining has reappeared. The property manager has since acquired an alternative primer, which is expected to prevent the marks from bleeding through. We will pass on your feedback about the outside furniture so the maintenance team can arrange to give it all a good clean before the summer season starts. We do hope that overall, you enjoyed your time in the Cotswolds and that you will be back to stay again!

This house is in a fantastic position with a short walk into Chipping Campden village with lovely pubs and coffee shops etc.

The house has the potential to be great, it is a great size, lovely rooms and a nice big garden but it is clear it has been neglected and left tired and dirty. Before writing this review I have read back on previous reviews and can see that some of the issues we faced were reported as far back as last October.

The leaks on the ceiling are unsightly but what was worse was the light fitting was danderous and flashing constantly, we managed to disconnect this ourselves. The fridge was constantly leaking and had to be mopped up multiple times per day this is also causing damage to the kitchen cabinets. The wardrobe doors in one of the bedrooms have come off the runners and need sorting as could be dangerous.

In its current state I would not recommend this property but if the issues were resolved I would definitely recommend

To be fair to the property management I did report all of these issues when I arrived and I was asked if I wanted anythign looking at while we were there and I said no, but now seeing that these were not new issues I feel I have to raise in the review.

While we understand and respect your decision to decline a visit from the property manager during your stay, we were disappointed not to have the opportunity to address these concerns in person at the time. Our goal is always to resolve any issues promptly so that our guests can fully enjoy their stay. The location of the property is great . Short walk into chipping Camden which had excellent restaurants and pubs . The house is welcoming and suits a group of 8 . The lounge and kitchen area plus the pool table are great for a large party .
We had some issues with cleanliness in the kitchen . Items dirty and the kitchen equipment is old and random
. No decent mugs for tea , a jumble of old ones . Cutlery the same .
We had leaks from the fridge/freezer that constantly needed to be cleaned up - pools of water. A sink overflowing in the small ensuite when we arrived , a smoke alarm going off which we had to sort out ! Not ideal for a calm 4 days away !! We did text the number we were given but no reply .

The kitchen equipment is all in good working order, there are plenty of mugs at the property although they are not a matching set and the cutlery was purchased last year. The fridge/freezer has now been repaired and no longer leaks. Sadly, the battery did run low in the smoke detector during your stay, this has now been replaced. We do hope that overall, you enjoyed your time exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside and towns!

We travelled from Australia and stayed here for a few days with family at Xmas time, what a beautiful home and amazing location! Walk into village was lovely passing by some beautiful spots. Home was lovely with a log fire which we all loved! Would have loved a larger Xmas tree (it was 2-3 ft tree) to make it feel on par with how beautiful the village was decorated but that just because I’m a big Xmas fan, apart from that we were very happy!

The house was great. Really good communications with the company that managed it.
Its a really nice house, and felt cared for and homely.
We appreciated welcome pack of milk, juice, bread etc but also all the other little things possibly left by previous guests that some companies would just clear out but were nice to find, eg tea, spices, coffee pods, dishwasher tablets, tissues, sugar
We also have some good evenings in Chipping Camden, Lovely pubs, - and really recommend Luigis (italian restaurant)

We stayed at Maple House for my husbands surprise birthday weekend with friends .The house was in a fantastic location with parking and we were able to walk into Chipping Campden on both days to explore the high street and surrounding areas.

The house was comfortable and clean but looking tired in places but we appreciated the complimentary items left in the fridge on our arrival.There was however a very strong smell of damp in the downstairs utility room..

All bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and the master bedroom had plenty of storage.

On our last morning we showered and heard dripping downstairs .We found water leaking through the downstairs light fitting !!!!.It was dripping all over the sofa and cushions and we noticed large water stains on the ceiling, so this had obviously been a previous issue that was left and not addressed .The fuse board had tripped which left us with no power for an hour which wasn’t ideal for our guests trying to get ready to leave .

I contacted the team and they did say they would get someone to look at it but I can’t imagine this hasn’t been mentioned before due to the large stains,which have been there some time.

Overall a beautiful and comfortable house but in need of some TLC in places and the damp smell and leaking shower needs to be addressed.

Loved our stay in a spacious house for three families. The proximity to Chipping Campden was great and great to be able to leave all our cars on the drive! For the amount of money the house cost I must say we were expecting perfection; if a few things are tightened up it would be that; the front door handle is incredibly loose, the curtain tie back fell off, there is only one frying pan and the dishwasher is woefully small for such a big house!

We also found the rules and regulations quite depressing ahead of the visit; a huge £350 security deposit by StayCotswolds for one and the house rules made you worry you were going to be judged on exit!

However, lovely clean comfortable house which we would stay in again.

I booked Mapel House as a family gathering to celebrate my husband’s 60th with daughters, their partners and grandchildren (2 x 1 yrs)
The house was perfect for our stay.
Easy walk into CC.
We did have a small issue with hot water, but this was sorted quickly once we called the maintenance company. They also checked everything was ok afterwards.
Would definitely recommend and stay again.

My review would have been a lot more positive if we had had central heating but unfortunately it wasnt working for half the radiators in the house and this had already been flagged in September by previous guests as we saw it in the guest book. It was cold!
Property Manager came out but couldnt fix it so said an engineer would come, but they didnt. We were only staying for 3 nights but it was disappointing that after I gave feedback and reported it no compensation was forthcoming. I did get feedback however I felt it was unsatisfactory.
The owners use a management company and advertise on several holiday property sites, so the communication channels are varied and slow.
The positive was The house is spacious and well equipped and had it been warm we would have been very comfortable.
The front and back gardens are very overgrown and spoilt the appearance of the house as its lovely. For the price that is being charged you do expect ongoing maintenance and the property to be in working order so we were disappointed that this wasnt the case.
Its a short walk into beautiful Chipping Camden and there are some great places to eat there including a bistro called Huxleys that we loved.
The driveway is tricky to navigate and will only really fit three cars - reverse on so you can get off more easily!!
We would use it again if the heating was working!

We have taken all your feedback into consideration and discussed the issues with the property manager and property owner. The property manager did visit the property and tried repair the cold radiators, he also reported that the house wasn’t cold and they provided you with some more logs for the fire. The issue you were referring to in the guest book was a totally different heating issue, which was resolved very quickly. Since your stay at the property the property manager has arranged for a plumber to bleed the radiators and balance them, along with fitting a new thermostat. After a spell of very wet weather it has made it difficult to have garden maintenance visit the property before you arrived. The property manager has also instructed a garden maintenance team to visit the property and tidy up the garden. We are pleased to read that the house is spacious and well equipped and now the heating issue has been fixed the property is very comfortable. We hope that you will return to the Cotswolds soon.

Great house in a lovely location only a short walk to the centre of Chipping Campden. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area, the steam train out of Broadway was a highlight for 4 of the adults in our party!

House was very clean throughout and has everything you need for a good holiday, although we could not find any guidance for when the bins went out.

Booking procedure was easy as was the communication of property details

Maple House was a real home from home.
