Durum is a romantic studio apartment located a few hundred metres from the centre of Stow-on-the-Wold. Laid out over two floors, this beautifully presented apartment is the perfect base from which to discover the many shops, pubs and restaurants Stow has to offer and can also be booked in conjunction with three other studio apartments.

Lovely stay, let down by noise and rodent issues

My partner and I stayed here for the weekend attending a wedding.
Positives:
- Great location, within 5 min walk to everything in Stow and off the main road so little to no outside noise.
- Free off street parking which is super handy (Stow can get very busy at weekends).
- Room was clean, comfy and had everything we needed for our stay. Everything worked fine and kitchen etc was well equipped. The self check in was also very easy.

Negatives:
- There is zero sound proofing on the doors leading out to the main hallway. We were constantly disturbed by doors slamming, people talking in the hallway during the night and early in the morning. Just like someone being outside your bedroom door.
- We quite clearly had a rodent issue in the roof/rafters of the property while we were there. Throughout night for all 3 nights we could hear things running around and scratching above us. Not only was it disturbing, it made us quite uncomfortable. I understand these things happen, especially in the country, but we reported this on our second day and nothing was done.
- Leading on from the above, after we reported the issue we received an email from our contact at Stay Cotswolds saying sorry and thanks for letting them know. To be honest I expected more. If this happened in a hotel it would absolutely not be ok. I would have expected them to be sending someone round then and there to inspect and deal with the issue. As paying customers on a holiday we should have been compensated in some way for the issues and not being able to sleep for 3 nights in a row. It really put a downer on our trip and it just seemed like they didn't really care. We were leaving the next day so didn't want to waste my time or ruin my weekend further by complaining more but the customer service needs to be better. As I mentioned, these issues are not anyone's fault, but they should be dealt with better. Real shame.
- Lastly and this is more a preference, the bathroom is huge and could be utilised much better. They could fit a bath and a shower in there!

The apartment is advertised as being in a building with 3 other apartments that share a communal entrance and hallway. We have checked our records and sadly cannot find your email where you advise of the issues you encountered during your stay. The apartment is in a lovely location tucked away just off the Main Street in Stow. It was immaculately clean and has all you need for a stay in the Cotswolds. It benefits from having a parking space too. I would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return again soon.

Durum was a really great find for us. Very reasonable in comparison to other properties and in an ideal location for exploring Stow-on-the-Wold. We had difficulty finding the place as I believe the name of the road has changed but if you find the social club it’s right opposite. It was great to have an allocated parking space as I think we may have struggled with parking otherwise. The place was very clean and nicely decorated with plenty of cutlery/plates etc and has a generously sized bathroom with great views. My only concern was with the outside door which needs to be locked with a key which is then taken away by the resident. We were only given one set of keys so when my husband went out and took them with him I was effectively locked in and being on the first floor would have struggled to get out safely if there had been a fire. I hope this issue can be rectified quickly as I would definitely like to return to this property in the future.

Stumbled across this company online, found just what we were looking for, nice clean accommodation in the centre of Stow with parking! We would definitely stay here again, very good price!

Hi, as mentioned in my first email I wasn’t happy at all with the stay. There were no basic toiletries for the shower which were meant to be included. There wasn’t even any coffee. The apartment absolutely stank of stale smoke which was honestly unbearable. The apartments are so close together that I could hear the flat opposite talking (at a normal level they weren’t being loud) and even just pressing the buttons on their microwave. Every time a door opened the whole flat shook. I asked for a refund so I could stay elsewhere but no one got back to me. The actual apartment is in a great location and it’s pretty inside for a short stay, but overall I wouldn’t recommend staying there mainly because of the smell of smoke and you couldn’t relax because of the noise.

Toiletries are not advertised as being supplied so you should not expect these to have been available for your stay. Had a great mini break staying at Durum - the apartments was very clean and comfortable situated in a quiet area in Stow- two of the main benefits for us were off street parking and Wi-Fi - great base for exploring the wider Cotswolds area.

Some minor constructive observations to consider is that the apartment is at 1st floor level so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues; the lighting in the communal area is on a timer, which the duration that lights are on may not suit everyone (perhaps consider extending the time duration)

Overall, would recommend and return if in the area

Durum is a perfect little bolt hole for a short break in the Cotswolds. Cosy accommodation with all your basic facilities.
So many places to eat and drink just a couple of minutes walk away.
Only had one problem with the parking which was sorted with a phone call.
One parking bay per apartment - feel it should be numbered so no confusion.
Will be back.

Never having been to the Cotswolds I just booked an apartment that looked nice and hoped for the best! As it turned out, the apartment was very nice (phew!) and not too far from anywhere we wanted to go. We stayed for four nights and it had everything we needed. The kitchen area has a kettle, microwave and toaster and we had tea, sugar milk and biscuits waiting for us which was a lovely touch. There was also washing-up liquid, j-cloth, tea towels and hand wash supplied. The apartment is decorated nicely and everything was very clean. The bathroom was on the upper floor. Showers are very often disappointing but this one was adjustable and nicely powerful - another plus.

Lovely apartment in a great location. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of places to eat and drink within a few minutes' walk.
The only slight downside was the parking: on returning one evening we found that the allocated spaces were all taken up. There isn't any signage to say that the spaces are reserved for the apartments. As well as helping to keep the spaces clear, such a sign would have made it easier to work out where we were supposed to park when we first arrived.

great little place. Had everything we needed except hand soap in the bathroom. Brilliant location for restaurants and pubs in Stow and a short drive from other beautiful towns. Easy parking. Very comfortable and clean and easy to check in.
