This is a great little cottage with a lovely garden, we had a fab week in Dorset. Very nicely renovated inside.
We had the most amazing time staying at the Bracken. It was warm and cosy and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. The hot tub is a lovely touch as it gets very warm! The hamper provided is also a lovely touch. We will definitely be looking to return in the summertime!
We were a party of 13 including 5 children and so took all three chalets which gave us a safe and relaxed environment within which the younger children could wander. The quality of the chalets (especially the en-suite bathrooms for each bedroom, and the hot tubs) appealed to parents and grandparents alike. Stunning early morning view and sunset. Great location with plenty in the vicinity when the occasional bad weather encouraged us offsite. Friendly and helpful host.
This was by far the best, well appointed self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. They had literally thought of everything, and more!! The extra touches made our stay feel even more special. It is beautifully decorated and the views are just stunning. We will definitely be back
Perfect quiet location, cosy comfortable cottage for a relaxing stay in a perfect area for visiting Dorset, which is a beautiful county that offers lots of interesting places. The owners are friendly and very thoughtful, always happy to help should you need any advice during your stay, would highly recommend.
Celebrating a 70th with friends and family and couldn’t have chosen a better venue. Excellent accommodation, well equipped kitchens and beautiful surroundings. We all had an amazing weekend and would return in a heartbeat for any other celebrations.
This is our third stay at Beauvoir Court Stables. Twice we stayed in July but this time October so we didn't have particularly good weather although October can be pleasant. Also I didn't realise (or had forgotten as I lived in the South West for 10 years) that from 1st October quite a few outlets and eateries close or are only open for the weekend or an extended weekend so that was a bit frustrating. We'd definitely aim for the summer season next time. However, Beauvoir Court Stables was as lovely as ever and we feel very much at home and comfortable there. The seclusion, quiet, the gard...more
Excellent cottage for a family gathering. However, please note that the small sofa and cushions, together with the rug had some animal hair.
Stunning is an understatement. Waking up in that beautiful place to that beautiful view was amazing, i am sure its even better in the summer. Clean, modern, spacious and beautiful. The hot tub was beautiful but does take 3-4 hours to heat up which is rather annoying if you have been out all day, but thats exactly what a wood burning hot tub is. We will be returning next year ! Thank you
Had to call for the engineer, as I did last year, as Aga was not hot enough to cook on even after specifically checking twice before arrival to make sure it was working and up to heat. The Aga is turned off for six months during the summer and should have been serviced before relighting in October. It had been turned on and the thermostat set to 6 which is the wrong way to turn it on, The service engineer you sent was very competent and sorted the problem out. Perhaps he should service the Aga before it is turned in next October 2023. Otherwise the property was as lovely and a...more
Big property with plenty of space in great setting for beach, countryside and local shop. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Ideal for large family gatherings. Will certainly be visiting again next year.
Excellent location away from the madding crowds. Scary narrow lanes to start with but you get used to reversing. Tothery cottage is superb, well laid out and renovated to a very high spec and standard. The welcome pack had all the essentials and the Dorset coffee company medium roast is excellent. Found the local bakery as well. Cottage well suited as a base to get to the beaches and inland attractions. Bridget is warm and welcoming giving us a run down of the facilities and controls. Relaxing and enjoyable week away, first time to Dorset but it will not be the last. Thank you.
'Evergreen' is a delightful place to stay. It retains the charm of an old cottage but has been beautifully modernised inside and is luxurious and comfortable. The owners, Karly and Gavin, were very thoughtful in their communications and we arrived to an incredibly generous amount of provisions, which included both high quality 'basics' and treats. So many things have been provided to enhance guests stay, from games to maps and suggested walks. We enjoyed the beautiful garden, whether in it or looking at it from the lovely rooms. There are forest walks from the door and the coast is a short dri...more
Its not easy to find a comfortable, good quality residence for an extended family of 20 to stay at but this exceeded our expectations! Having also booked the property next door, we had lots of space in a home away from home. Facilities are excellent and we had a wonderful BBQ on a really high quality gas barbecue burner in the Courtyard which was a really good location - enclosed so younger children were safe yet spacious for bigger ones and the adults. Delightful decoration within and an excellent nights sleep in comfortable beds. With wonderful views who could ask for more! We'll be back...more
This was our second visit as we enjoyed it so much last year. The hamper which is provided on arrival was also excellent as it was the year before. We may even come back again in the future
Beautiful cottage, garden very pretty, super hot tub we used in the rain as under cover. Dog friendly with enclosed garden and doggie treats
Getting to the lodge was a little heart pounding, as it is down loads of very narrow single lane roads. So if you come across traffic it can be a tight squeeze into the bushes/passing points. The location is lovely with amazing views when you get there. I have 2 teenagers, so they got a room each. They loved having their own bathroom and chill out space. The beds were really comfy, with clean towels and bedding. The open plan kitchen/dinner/lounge are is a vast space. The kitchen is lovely with everything you need to get going. The oven was a challenge though to work out, even when we did find...more
The property is situated in a lovely location with great views and so peaceful. Overall we were very happy, however there were a few things that could be improved, eg instructions on how to control the heating in the bedrooms, the provision of some toiletries and some basic kitchen equipment, eg oven gloves, tea towels, etc. These issues were quite minor in the great scheme of things, but their absence proved an inconvenience.
Nice house in a peaceful location but only a short walk to town centre and a easy drive to Weymouth beaches. Great service from Dorset Hideaways.
A gorgeous holiday home with stunning views over Chesil Beach and Portland. Directions to and description of accomodation accurate. Lane getting there rather exciting but we managed! House very comfortable and well equipped. Dorset Hideaways customer service excellent. Welcome hamper fabulous. Lots of things to do and good places to eat nearby.
We stayed for 3 nights at Berwick. The property is very comfortable and smartly decorated; the owners have provided lots of maps and suggestions for places to visit and eat. We arrived by car at night and finding the entrance to the loading area to leave bags at the property was a bit difficult; there is no parking by the property but we parked at Westfield Close car park, a short walk away - £7.10 for the entire stay. Wimborne itself is lovely, definitely recommend 10 Bottles wine bar nearly on the doorstep.
We stayed in Little Winters Cottage for a week at the end of May. The property is wonderful, very clean with everything needed for a self catering stay. The narrow lanes around the area are a little daunting at first but it didn’t take long to get used to. A great base to visit Dorset and Devon. We had a fantastic week and would definitely book again.
Very chocolate box cottage. Everything you need is there. Owen the manager was lovely and arranged a private tour of Athelhampton house for us, provided by Emma who was very knowledgeable. We were lucky as there was a Christmas fair happening that weekend too. The Blue Vinny pub in Puddletown was excellent and very accommodating. Would recommend staying.
Great house, welcome hamper and coffee pods.Plenty of room, good bedrooms, although the extractor in front bedroom/ bathroom full of dust. Everything one required was available, three families enjoyed it.
We really enjoyed our time at Elbow cottage. It’s a quirky old thatched cottage with lots of character but also plenty of space. We found it very comfortable and well equipped. It’s conveniently located for lots of sightseeing. We will happily book again next time we come to this part of the world.
Initially the cottage looks stylish but you don't have to be there long before you realise it's very tired and needs a refresh and deep clean.
Our party had both Drackenorth Lodge and Bower Cottage for a birthday celebration long weekend in early October. Everything was wonderful - communication with the owner beforehand was timely and very helpful and we were delighted to meet her during our stay. Directions to the property are clear and the location is absolutely stunning. The properties are very well equipped for large groups with plenty of cutlery, crockery and glassware. The only tiny issue was that we ran out of loo roll by day 2! Having read the house manual we realised that we should’ve brought our own as only enough to cover...more
Amazing location, on the edge of Wimborne market town and yet when in the cottage feels so quiet and peaceful. Every detail has been thought of and it is the most lovely, well furnished spacious cottage. We and our friends were so impressed with the cottage and hope to return at some time.
Gorgeous cottage, comfortable and cosy. Ideal for a family break. Beautiful setting, couldn't have asked for more.
The helpful host has provided a charming place to stay that opens the doors to many area attractions.
We stayed here as a group in July 2021. The house is lovely and well located for getting out and about to surrounding areas like Lulworth Cove. Our host Morag was lovely and very helpful both in advance and during our stay and we loved being in such a beautiful setting next to Came House. One point to note is that a couple of guests in our group did find the bedrooms very light so worth bringing eye masks or travel blinds if you are a light sleeper.
It was just brilliant. Absolutely loved it. Will be back again next year. Customer service was second to none. Did not want to go home.
The cottage was the perfect size for 7 of us plus dog and had everything we required. It's situated in a quiet village within walking distance of a great pub. The property backs on to open countryside which is great for walks from the property. There is lots to see and do in the area including the Tank museum, Dorchester and the Jurassic coast.
Quiet location, beautiful village, ideal location for exploring the surrounding area. Local pub was very welcoming.
This is beautiful place to stay .A nice quiet location. Clean, tidy .Great views Secure garden for the dog . Would definitely recommend
A well equipped comfortable cottage in a peaceful location. The garden was spacious and secure and ideal for a dog.
We were looking forward to a relaxing holiday with family and unfortunately there were a few things that were disappointing to us. The outside of the property did not look like the pictures online - it wasn’t well-maintained and as a result we were not able to use the outdoor space as it wasn’t safe for the children. The blinds in the bedroom with the on-suite were faulty and the duvet cover was too small for the duvet, which meant there was a huge lump of duvet gathered at one end and therefore uncomfortable for sleeping. The handheld shower was difficult to manage as it was too powerful and ...more
Beautiful well equipped cottage in tranquil location, ideal for walks in the countryside or even to the beach. Kids especially loved the swimming pool and games shed.
Swallow cottage was very nice with lots of historical medieval features. Good size for two with good equipment. Unfortunately the warm water system in the kitchen broke down and it could not be fixed immediately. Thanks Dave for your help! The owner did offer us an alternative accommodation but we stayed in our little home. As the cottage is in the country side there are no shops and pubs nearby. A car is always needed. The cottage needs a bit of TLC as well as the garden
